Not so sure I agree with this facebook stuff anymore. I'd rather go back to pretending everyone on here wasn't... well, you know what I mean ;)

It's my Birthday. I am drunk, and will get worse as the night draws in. That's... that's all. Now all I need is an option to post all the messy photos :P

Bio

I like to write stories, and no genre is beyond me.

Short, sweet and to the point.

Aye, it would be a smaller version of what it was. Depending on how things play out, it's power fluctuates anywhere between that of the (currently)NPC Trade Federation and the Grand Republic of Mandalore, though can dip below both of them. Biggest thing against them is the factor of public support and the competition between them and nearly all other factions in the galaxy. They are essentially a declawed Ottoman Empire right now, they may have a decent power base to sit in and defend, but everyone hates them and wants a piece of them, and there's really not much they can do about it. The reason for that, is that while the other republic factions(including the GRM to a degree) can ally together freely and will do so, there is no one for the Empire to align themselves with.

@Palpatine: I neglected to add in the part of the Second Battle for Coruscant where Grievous glassed the surface and dropped a building on Palpatine, but if you want to do something with Palpatine leading the Empire, then we can always hash things out and get something cool going.

No, no, that's alright with me. Screw Palpatine, I dislike the idea of walking a trodden path. With him, I'd be restrained with what I could do, because there was only one thing he wanted, and he cared little for compromise.

I'll go with the Council of Moffs, who formed following the schism of the Republic, caused by the loss of Coruscant. A board of high ranking officers, who declare that strength alone will bring back the glory of the Republic (even if they have no want to restore it to its previous form). Naturally, they'll ally with the Sith, who will promise them power and everything else in return for their endorsement.

Their victory over Coruscant would have brought them prestige, and some loyalty. Whilst the successor states were busy being all democratic and nicey nicey, the self proclaimed Galactic Empire would have been seen as the ones doing the "real fighting". So I'd have that going for me, but yeah you're right, generally speaking I'd be despised, especially with me openly saying that the Sith were okay guys.

Anyway, let me go away and learn the geography of the Star Wars universe, some more stuff about the Imperial Remnant (on whom I'd be basing much of my faction, if I did take control of them), and I'll get back to you.

In the mean time, put me as a 75% sign up. Just gotta get myself educated.

@User I'd also like to see some detail in your bio. A character sheet is much more than a list of facts and figures, its about establishing your credibility as a writer and as a roleplayer. To be honest, most of the time, the biography is used more as a roleplaying example. It shows that you can write a few paragraphs on one topic, which is required for posting in a Casual/High Casual RP like this one.

@User

Yeah I'm going to have to back this notion here. So far my impression of you is that you're out of your league, and tiredness isn't a fit excuse in my opinion. Not to appear overly hostile though, I understand that sometimes we all bite off more than we could chew. I keep looking at the advanced section with nervous ambition.

You have to have more to you than what you've shown me, surely? I don't ask for pristine writing, Lord knows mine isn't fantastic, but come on, that brain of yours has a whole section dedicated to imagination. Throw me some proof that you have the enthusiasm to use it! :)

It's all good, you don't have to be an expert in the lore, as I know a bit myself and I'm sure there's others about who would be more than happy to answer lore questions that are relevant.

@Empire: The Empire would not have arisen in the same manner, no, since Palpatine never got the chance to yell "UNLIMITED POWAH!!!" and become Emperor, but it did spawn via a different path. That path being a successor state that rallied others together against the Trade Federation and reclaimed Coruscant. With a power base established, the alliance pushed the Federation out of the Core and claimed it for their own. Shortly after, it was voted that the republic's government had been too weak to contest the Federation by dint of their allowing any and all to have a voice in the senate. The new chancellor of this republic then enacted that only as an Empire could they truly contest the Federation and reclaim the lost systems of the Republic.

Of course, that's all subject to change if/when we get someone looking to play as the Empire, as will be the territory they currently occupy.

So this Empire would be a smaller version of what it was? That's cool. Would Palpatine still be at its head? Or would a Council of Moffs have taken the helm? I'm happy to play them, researching them as we speak, actually (the Star Wars universe is pretty readable!), though I'd defer to someone more grounded in the lore.

If it were me though, I think Palpatine would have forged ahead, declaring that "All who wish to save what we love, follow me!" more or less. The less trusting of him would have gone and made the Republic successor states, whilst the fence-sitters and the "YAH WARRRRR!!!" types would have backed him. He'd of set aside everything democratic, declaring himself (although I think he already had by this point) the indefinite leader of the Galactic Empire pending the Trade Federation's defeat.
Possibly. My Star Wars lore is light weight though, I've only seen the films, and played both Dark Forces and KOTR.

Man I feel old.

Anyone wanna suggest some further reading for me? If possible, I don't want to have to go through swathes of the starwars wiki if I can bring myself up to speed with a synopsis instead. For example, the RP mentions the Empire. Empire as in stormtroopers? If the Republic lost the battle, wouldn't the Empire not be around? Or is it another Empire?

Either way, I'm interested, I just need to go beef up my knowledge first. List me as a hopeful maybe.
It's an odd one. I've only been here for a few days, but I found it strange that "battle-centered roleplays" was inactive. I mean, you go into casual, and loads of the RPs there are what I'd consider "battle-centered".

I don't know the history. I assume it was real popular at one point, enough to have its own sub-cat. What happened? Did it become too exclusive or something? I've seen that happen before. Either way, I find these things interesting, so educate me if you have the time :)

its a 5 year old computer, and in typing from my sofa with it balanced on my office chair.

I guess we all have our systems. Just make sure your IC posts make sense, or we may have issues. That's all I ask.

I've got a couple of ideas up my sleeve for looting too. It'll be a great time.

Awesome, and yeah it will be.

Need to attract some more people. Only one or two more, I'm sure it'll gain popularity once it gets under way and everyone realises how superior an RP is with an active GM.

I might sit outside the RP with a big fish net, see if I can't catch a straggler.

No i mean i do free rp, the eat up zombie rp. but no ne eats or sleeps or drinks. they just run around and shoot.

Your keyboard missing buttons? Please could you make that sentence legible. I'm not being a dick, I genuinely have no idea what you're asking me.

In this RP, food and water will factor in. It's not a complicated concept, but it's something the group will want to keep in mind, and something I will remind them about as and when needs be. Though I control the world, I don't control everything. If someone wants to find a bottle of water in a first aid box, or a packet of chips in a cupboard, they're totally free to do so. I'll only step in if they find a three course buffet in a microwave.

There will be plenty of running around, plenty of shooting and plenty of bludgeoning.

is this gonna be a realistic RP, so where we need sleep, water, food and stuff

Realistic in that no one is going to pull a laser gun out of their bum, and that no one is going to batter a horde of zombies to death with a rolled up news paper.

Not realistic to the point of OHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOD THIS IS BORING! Any sleeps will be covered when I 'fast forward' the RP at certain points.

EDIT: On the question of food and water, I'll keep a list of the group's supplies, and deduct from it over time (players will be informed as it happens) - unless they use them in their posts, of course. So for example, if the group beds down in a hideout for the night, they can expect to wake up minus a bottle of water and some food.

its slightly higher than corpral. also since we are in the bus theres no point to it.

The bus is a no go, it got stuck. The survivors tried to turn it around, but got shot at, and fled into a nearby school.

They're currently in the gymnasium standing over the body of someone who wasn't up to the task of surviving.

That's where the RP starts :)

Edit: You don't get the four week history? I mean, you seemed to have gotten the idea. It's just what your character has been up to since the outbreak started - gives me an understanding of their um, resilience I guess. What they did before isn't much use to me, and no one is going to give too many damns. Besides, their pre-outbreak life can be done during the RP, as it always should be IMO.

So he's a national guardsman Doctor Specialist, who was stationed at Dulles. That's cool, obviously when the blockades came down, there's a good chance he would have been left alone, because people ALWAYs need doctors, especially in a crisis. After a few days of mulling around, treating people, he probably thought "Dayam, I gotta get out of here before everything goes to poop", heard that some others were planning to escape, and went with them.

I mean, what I put there would more than cover you.
