Not so sure I agree with this facebook stuff anymore. I'd rather go back to pretending everyone on here wasn't... well, you know what I mean ;)

It's my Birthday. I am drunk, and will get worse as the night draws in. That's... that's all. Now all I need is an option to post all the messy photos :P

Well, selling the coal is something you must decide on. I already made my offer, although indirectly. I told my minister of forgein affairs to give you a certain proposal.

And about the pope... Well that's up to Duck to decide.

I might've misread things, and I'll go back and check, buuuuuuuuuuut didn't your guy say he was going to negotiate with the Germans over who will get my deposits? Something about offering them blue coal in trade, in exchange for your exclusive rights to Naples' mines?

I didn't want to jump the gun.
<Snipped quote by TomeBinder>

In this time period religion was more used as a nationalistic tool then really used to live one's life. The pope barely had any power anymore, only having control over the Papal states which would soon be integrated in the Kingdom of Italy.

The religion was more used to create a feeling of "us versus them" but it national interests were more important. For example the Crimean war of 1853 was a war where protestant Britain and catholic France joined forces with the sunni Ottomans to fight the orthodox Russians. Although in the eyes of the (catholic) people, a blessing by the pope would give you a huge popularity boost.

But the pope had his own agenda so you would really need to convince him. At the moment the pope still controls a decent amount of the Italian peninsula if we are going by the historical time line, but he will lose all his holdings a year from now once Sardinia-Piedmont comes unifing Italy.

We don't know what the Pope wants, that's why I'm asking. It's okay to follow our history to a point, but let's not forget that the timeline has been irreversibly broken by the introduction of blue coal and the drastic industrial expansion seen a scale that much surpasses the real life revolution. The Pope might even be a formidable warrior, for all we know, with his own plans to unite Italy into a true Holy State.

The popularity boost is part of my plan, to counter balance the peasants' anger that would arise from Pagani selling the coal. But I felt that if the Pope said "Yo, Kingdom of Naples got its pious head on straight", then Catholic inhabitants of other countries might get a bit queasy at the prospect of invading me.

But we'll see what Duck has to say on all of this.

In other news, how do you fine gentlemen wish to settle the selling of Naples' blue coal deposits?

Yo, can I get me some confirmation on the Pope? My King is gonna wanna meet him, you know, to try and achieve God's favour. It'd make Naples harder to invade, if it was internationally known that the Catholic church openly favoured the backwards kingdom.

What's he like? I mentioned in my bio that the King got on very well with the local church, which of course would've been Catholic. So i'd like to think it'd put me on good standing.

And for that matter, how is religion in this RP? Does it still play a big factor in peoples' lives?

Thanks

Posted! Oh hopefully my plan works to fruition, otherwise Angie's Irish luck is about to run out. :(

I like Angie, she's a good character. The Good Lord may smile upon her fortune, then again, he may have a tree fall on her.

In any case, good writing.

@whiteprophet I love orderly and titled posts. I'm not sure I everyone feels that way though, and I'm not going to risk upsetting the masses.

As a compromise, I can place the player names alongside the character names in the group info - I could probably even also attach their last posted location. Would that work?

i am going to resign from this rp .-.

Why? Because your character's response was 100 percent human? James was getting eaten, a dozen shamblers were surging throug the door - its absoloutely natural your character panicked and fired her gun. Hell, I reckon I may have done the same!

Let the others judge your decision as an abysmal one, again, that's what humans do. They criticise the actions of others, not always realising they may have done the same if they were in that person's shoes.

Ultimately though, its up to you. I've got some hungry minions who can take her off your hands, if you're not up to the task of playing what is in my view, so far a very believable character.

P.s, I'm at work and using my phone. Sorry for any spelling mistakes or unclear sentances, I'm writing this in five second stints whilst looking over my shoulder.

Kill all the zombies you please. As for handling Darc's character, whether he/she takes offence will be down to them. I understand what you did and why, and support it, but people can get funny over character manhandling, and I'm obliged to uphold any grievances.

Still, in my book, it's happened and the result is now written in stone.

I was concerned about what you said regarding food and water rations, which sounded like the math of it, or the precise weight of a backpack for example that I dont know what would be too much and slow down my char.

I never asked for people to define the weight of their equipment, they did that for their own accord, which is not wholly unwise. It gives them an argument, if they feel I've been too harsh.

The point I'm making, is not to overburden them with too much stuff. Carrying three 6 packs of beans, 2 3 litre drums of water, a shotgun and an axe, for example, would make for one very clumsy and slow character. Imagine hauling that weight! Then imagine trying to move away from a sudden threat whilst carrying it. Might be problematic, no?

So far, everyone has been pretty reasonable though.

As for the food and water, this RP will happen over the course of days - if not weeks - and so naturally supplies will factor into things over time. I take care of all of it though, as I'm the one who keeps track of what the group has, and will also be the one to say "Yo, you've got no food left. Might wanna think of taking a detour to go find some stuff"

<Snipped quote by TomeBinder>I would be loads more interested in the slow group. I'm also not good with hyper realism, how will that work with this rp?

Pffft, hyper realism? It's a realistic RP, but it's not what I'd call hyper realistic. Just no non-sense stuff, if I had to be vague. For example, those gunshots just alerted a horde to the school. That's realistic, right? But at the same time, I'm not going to starting exploring the perils of bullet penetration, because who cares?

Ali Ni Yuyn's gunshots reverberate around the school, echoing across empty classrooms and corridors. Indeed, their echo carries on outside for some distance. The dead who had been drawn away from the school by the earlier sniper, who took pot shots at the group's bus, have started to make their way back towards the survivors. Scores of them, maybe even a hundred. They're still a distance away though, and there may be time yet to get that fire door locked down.

Meanwhile, the three shamblers she gunned down has brought the survivors a few vital seconds to organise their defence - or retreat.

Though the dead are not the only ones who have been drawn by the gunfire. An emotionally unsettled (who isn't in these days?) U.S Marine had been driven into the school just minutes ago. On his way in, he spotted the group's bus, and after hearing their gunshots, he now knows he's not alone.

Making his way down the network of corridors, Alex Ibanez followed the sounds of commotion, until they brought him to the top of a flight of stairs overlooking the gymnasium.

He quickly identifies two slain shamblers at the front of the group, with the third stumbling towards a woman. The rest of the group seem to be busy backing away from the wave of shamblers surging in through a busted fire exit.

Taking the safety off of his Glock, he formulates his response to the situation. Help them? Or flee? Are they friendly? Or are they likely to kill him the moment they notice his presence?

Okay, I've been away and done some thinking. It could be possible for me to split this RP into two scenarios.

One, involving the slower posters, and one involving the faster posters. The situation in the gym would provide an opportunity for the group to be split.

One group would have a 48 hour post rule, and the other a week post rule.

The only draw back would be that interactions between the groups might be a bit dodgy.

Thoughts?

@Demonx Accepted, by the way. I'll get your guy woven into the story. When will you be able to post? I'll try and time it so that you can post shortly after, but this is not essential. I just don't want to introduce you, and then have the introduction to get buried before you have a chance to post.
