Responsibility belongs not to the name stenciled on the mantel, but to the one who carries the mantle.

@Polyphemus@Xenonia You're both welcome to stop by Dark Ridge Resort, it's and advertising resort with a website so you can find it pretty easy, especially if you're looking for a mountain vacation. (or a couple hundred easy pockets to pick a several miles from the nearest cop station)
The town of Corentin sits on a ridge over looking a nearby river and small port. The ocean can just be seen on the horizon from the parapets over the market gate. The year is 603 AD, and the town is located in Bernicia. A good haven port, it often sees trans-sea traffic during the stormy months, the rest of the year most of the traffic flows with the river, bringing ores, lumber, wool and some grain from the highlands. Most days, A fisherman will bring his catch up river from the sea-shanty where the fishermen live. The town is surrounded by an earthen embankment 1.5 meters high topped with a 2 meter log palisade. Three gates broke the monotony of the palisade, the river gate, where the river was closest to the town, and the poorer people fetched their water and did their washing. The market gate, lead to the market held on the field downstream from the town and the river gate. Last but not least, was the Inland gate, this was the only gate that lead to a road. Kingdom traffic and some flocks came by this road. The town hosts multiple Inns, one of which is owned and run by a man named Tavish Ainsley.

Tavish was just welcoming the morning crowd at the Iron Scale, his inn, serving mostly porridge cooked this morning and milk bought from a local farmer who liked to come by chat a bit in the mornings, mostly because Tavish would buy his milk without trying to cheat him. Today's crew was small, though Tavish had been told to expect a couple of new ships coming up the river sometime this week.

Three? The original idea, which I'm willing to try and stick with, has you using a full deck. With mana increasing with time spent in battle. So you need at least a deck's worth of spells.

Right now I'm trying to build on the plot which is currently as follows:

"You were exiled from your home universe, just before it was destroyed. You don't know how you know and you can't prove it, but you know that whatever destroyed your universe, is here in this new universe with you. You don't know if he's here to kill the survivors, or if he want's to destroy this universe as well, either way, things won't end well for you. You all stand together inside a circle of stones (very similar to Stonehenge) and the world lies before you, alien and unknown, yet somehow familiar.

You have to find and defeat the cause your universe's obliteration before it strikes again. The question is, will this universe help or hinder you? And will you all stick together or will you split up hoping to cover more ground?"

Also, I'm not sure how to make the turns work in a forum setting, especially with instants interrupting the turn order. I think each round, you will be able to "play a land" whenever you take a moment to remember a place that you have been to in your travels. I'm thinking of limiting max mana by the number of years the character has been alive, allowing one mana per year to be added to the "deck" ... that seems like a nice cap. then to keep spells known from getting to ridiculous, for each mana you "own" you may learn two spells that share it's color with the mana you just picked up. (multi-colored spells can be learned with any of it's constituent colors, so long as you already have all the other colors in your "deck".

How does all of that sound? And does someone want to help run this I'm gunna need it I think.
@Tracyarmav I'll do that, thanks so much for the help

Glad to have the company, :)
Tecumseh, pulled into the parking lot the employee parking lot the next morning and saw Sarah's car already there. e grunted in surprise, he'd thought she was going to sleep in to day for sure as tired as she was last night. Oh well, youngsters were resilient folk. He walked into the office door, since Sarah usually unlocked the door when she arrived, and because his morning coffee was still kicking in. Now rather confused, Tecumseh unlocked the office door, and walked into the sitting room to see Sarah snoring gently on the couch exactly where he'd left her last nigh. Tecumseh chuckled softly to himself, and went to start the morning pot of Coffee.

Ten minutes later, he knelt next to head and waved a cup of fresh coffee, or rather milk and sugar with a little bit of coffee to add color, just the way she liked it, in front of her face. When that had no effect, he tried calling her name, softly at first, and then he rose and stepped back and used a voice he hadn't used in years. He barked her name in his parade ground voice, very loud and clipped, it echoed slightly in the small room, and Sarah woke with a start, sitting bolt up right on the couch. Tecumseh smiled and switched back to his usual business voice, as he handed her the coffee.

"Morning sleepyhead, here."

"Mmmmh, that smells good. Oh I feel terrible, this couch was not made to be slept on!"

"That's why it's called a couch and not a bed silly, go home and relax kid, you earned it yesterday. Besides, you stink."

Tecumseh pinched his nose shut as he said last, which earned him a mock glare as Sarah sipped her coffee, which he laughed at before gently shooing her out the door. She didn't protest much, she was still tired and sleeping on the couch had made her very sore. Working would have been torturous today, so she drove home while Tecumseh went back to work chuckling at himself. Even youngsters have a limit on what they can do before they crash. He looked at his calendar and noticed it was going to be a slow day. Good, he liked slow days. He checked his email, as he did every day, and noticed another email alerting him to the presence of several immigrants currently residing in New York who might be elementals and noted that the previous mentioned leader of a "fiery disposition" had last been seen in Oxford, England. Interesting... What are you doing in England, did you happen to have anything to do with the murder of that pub owner? hmmm, you'd better be watching your step, politicians don't like being scared, and I imagine you're going to scare them all real quick. He erased that email as well, then set his hard drive to back itself up on a cloud while he was out and about. He locked his office door on his way out, stopping to chat with the manager and financial assistant for a bit before heading on out to enjoy the beautiful day. The sun was shining brightly, while a light breeze kept the heat from becoming oppressive. He checked to make sure his phone was on and then set off on one of his favorite trails.
@4weekcoma I'm about to post him heading back into work at his mountain resort. A place that boasts a large pool, many hiking and biking trails, stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and lots of clean mountain air, at reasonable family rates. You're welcome to arrive as a guest if you like, or maybe your looking or a summer job?

@Nerevarine GM what time of year is it?
I'm allowing it because is often a property of the element itself, therefor within the range of powers

My point was that the elements in question cease to exist as a part of the reaction that produces radiation, which is kinda counter productive to living. {As our friends in Oxford are demonstrating. :P} Still, your story, your rules. The radiation never bothered me anyway. :)

@4weekcoma Then you should come visit me in NC, no chaos there... yet. Trying to avoid chaos, but there's this guy called the antagonist/GM who probably has his own ideas.
If hemoglobin can't be broken up because it's a molecule, how do the radiation powers work? Radiation is usually caused by an unstable nucleus splitting into two smaller more stable nuclei, neutrons, and a lot of energy in multiple forms. Just curious, here, as Radiation wouldn't really affect me IC. :)
same as above, sorry.
