That moment when someone makes a terrible OC with a cringe self-centered plot and you have no idea how to react because you want them to indulge your own shit.

The vast kingdom that the Kinly family oversaw and protected has been prosperous for a long span of time, nearly one hundred years in fact. As such, Princess Rahea knew nothing of the struggle and strife that plagued the Aldenea kingdom. The relationship between men and elf had always been one with respect and understanding. Men and elves didn't often fight and when a skirmish arose, it was usually between an irrational man who didn't hold the majority's mindset that elves were equals, not subservient.

Whenever a small but notable conflict broke out, the King and Queen were quick to approach things diplomatically. They did not wish for further arguments to sully the peace that had been established 90 years ago. So for the most part, both factions got along well and traded without any real incidents. Having a positive relationship with the elves was paramount since every year they came together to exchange eggs. It was believed that when they hatched, both the humans and elves would have contributed enough good will to ensure the dragon was not something to fear, but something to respect and admire.

There had been a few attempts at someone stealing the eggs, whether it happen within the elves' city of Ullenor, or in the kingdom's capital known as B'ylah. The attempts were never successful thankfully. The eggs were always guarded and both factions ensured there was no way for someone to pillage the egg and make a profit.

Mentally, it was taxing to protect an egg but it was a duty that was sacred and very vital to the kingdom's survival.

Princess Rahea glanced over to her left, unable to cease admiring the precious pink cherry trees that were common around the kingdom, except they strangely didn't penetrate the Ullenori Forest. Rahea, along with her mother and father, and their band of knights, were currently meandering along a dirt road. The sun was beginning to set and she had to wonder how much further they had to go. Like the elves, they had been on the road for two days, though they took more stops to allow Rahea to admire the curious scenery. While she had been out of the kingdom, it was usually for diplomatic purposes which didn't allow much free time to explore the area.

Her retainer, who acted as both a body guard and servant, had to constantly remind her that their trek was not a time to explore and drag her feet. Rahea had begged her parents to allow her to go along with them this year and they saw no reason to dissuade her since in due time she would be making the yearly journey on her own.

Rahea knew very little of the world around her and her eyes were always eager to soak up the sights.

The carriage that held the royal family came to a stop as well as the knights on horses which protected them on all four sides. "We'll stop here for the night." Her father, King Milo Kinly, said. The royal family had a few connections and were able to plan stops in small stone houses that the royal family usually rented to distant relatives. The stone cottage was furnished and the usual resident had already left earlier to give the travelers as much space and privacy as required.

The group headed inside and began to get ready for a quick rest while Rahea's retainer (along with the other two assigned to the King and Queen) began to set up the fireplace and supper. Rahea moved to her parents who were quietly discussing the next day's plan. "Will we finally get there tomorrow?" She inquired, getting anxious.

"Yes, don't worry, we'll make contact by tomorrow afternoon." Her father replied, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Now go eat and rest, we will depart in only a few hours time."

"Why so soon?" Rahea frowned.

"Your lollygagging put us a bit behind schedule, dear." Her mother pointed out. Rahea sighed, knowing she had no means to argue with the truth. She bowed her head in understanding and went back over to the fireplace, her eyes mesmerized by the dancing flames.
With the door opening without much force, she stuck her head inside. "Hey, D, you in here?" She called out, half-holding this was just a fluke or something of bullshit joke. Hisano scrunched up her face as she noted how nice everything looked compared to her dull cubicle. Hisano hated her job because it was so generic, so boring. So lifeless. Still, she had a job so what right did she have to complain? Still it seemed like Tommy had been given quite an upgrade since moving to HR. Hisano had a weird feeling about whatever was going on.

The door slowly opened as she stepped through the doorway, her eyes scanning the area more thoroughly now.

When she saw the small hole in the glass, her eyes narrowed. It looked like a bullet hole or maybe even a laser hole of some sort. The woman took a few steps further into the office. "Tommy?" She called out, now feeling as though the air was being sucked out of her lungs. She saw a body at the desk but wasn't sure if he was alive, injured or dead. Hisano moved over to the desk and looked from the window to Tommy's body. She tried to figure out if he had been shot by someone or if for some reason he had shot himself. She wasn't sure which horrifying notion was harder to fathom. "Shit. Shit shit shit." She knew she needed to leave but she kept wondering why he'd summon her to his office if he was going to kill himself.

It didn't make sense and her gut was telling her it was foul play. Maybe Tommy got into serious trouble and that trouble had finally caught up with him. But why not reach out sooner? It was too late for her to help now, surely. Hisano had the urge to smoke and think the whole thing over but she knew she needed to leave and fast. Hisano was sure her card and video cameras would confirm her location, but still she didn't want to get involved. Even if maybe she already was. Her family was at stake and part of her pissed off that Tommy would drag her into his mess.

She leaned over the body and decided to get a look at his computer to see if had anything of use. While she wasn't one to go around shooting people and enacting revenge, she had to know what Tommy was up to. He was her best friend and while he gave her headaches, she cared for him and his inability to make the better choices in life. She scrolled through what was on the screen and wondered if the pockets might have any sort of lead. Hisano still wasn't sure if she would do anything with any information but she couldn't sleep without understanding the situation a bit more. "No way in hell I'm putting on a cape and becoming some masked avenger but still...D deserves a better end than this." Hisano muttered to herself as she looked from the computer and began to see if his pockets contained anything or if it would be a dead end, prompting her to leave and resume her quest of decent alcohol.

"God, I'd love a drink right now..."

As the man introduced himself as Gabrial Warren, Fianna kept her hand on his shoulder loosely until the man took it and kissed the back of it. Now that was a fun surprise. "Potions, you seem much more like a Charms Professor if you ya ask me." She laughed lightly at him, giving him a wide grin. "Yes, quite a pleasure I'd say." She agreed, amused and intrigued that one of the new professors was so friendly. It was like a giant breath of fresh air. Fianna was hopeful she could call Gabrial a friend since in her mind, one could never have too many of those, especially when you had a tough job teaching the next generation of witches and wizards.

Her hand dropped back to her side while her other cradled her goblet filled with bubbly water. She was eager to get to dinner soon, keen on having a bit of wine before bed. Tomorrow would be a big day with students arriving but it still gave the professors a day to prep before classes began the following day. For now Fianna wanted to focus on building further relationships with her fellow colleagues as they had to rely on one another to be the best teachers but to also stay sane during tough moments. "Eh?" She looked to Gabrial when he mentioned he did have a question.

Following to where he had moved, the woman looked down at the map he was using in order to find his way to The Great Hall. The castle could be confusing but then it dawned on her. "Ahh you must not be a Hogwarts alum." SHe realized. Hogwarts tended to hire from both previous Hogwarts students but also outsiders from other schools. She felt foolish for having assumed he had once roamed the halls as a student. She blushed slightly. "Aha, my apologies for my assumption." She laughed a little and gestured to the most direct route for him to take. "So you're right about where you'd go to get to The Great Hall." She confirmed his uncertainty, not wanting him to get lost on his way to breakfast.

But since the students wouldn't be coming until the late afternoon, she was sure he'd get the hang of a few necessary pathways around the castle quick enough. "Runs?" She repeated, needing a moment to figure out his meaning. "Oh like running." She paused to think for a moment. "I believe a jaunt around the Quidditch pitch might be much like a track but I'd also suggest down by the lake if ya'd like a better view than just the green grass. If ya feelin' brave you could try to the forest but ahhh I wouldn't." Fianna laughed lightly and took a sip of her water. "I didn't peg you as a running type though, you're blowing through all my assumptions of you." She said bluntly, her tone amused. "I like it." She then said quickly and patted him on the back.

"Ya gonna keep me on my toes, I can tell."

Looking over at the door, a tall grey haired witch entered the room and soon the chatter faded away.

"Good evening everyone. I am Minerva McGonagall, Headmaster or Headmistress of Hogwarts. I am a former professor of Transfiguration though it seems Professor Quinn has been doing a fine job as my successor." The woman began to say. "Now I have a few things to note before we head off to The Great Hall for dinner." Her accent was Scottish and many knew her credentials and history without her needing to spell it out. "I would like to introduce our four new incoming professors for the new school year. We should all do our best to be accommodating and help them in any way possible. Most notably is our new Potions Master, Gabrail Warren." She paused and gestured to the white haired man by Fianna. "Would you care to say a few words, my dear?" She asked him.
So many feels~!

A gardening club?

It was an interesting thought but still another place to dedicate his time. But Kagura had a good point that it would much closer and easier to tend to. Plus it might be a way for him to make friends with those who had similar interests such as gardening. He was surprised to hear Kagura suggest such a thing though. He didn't think Kagura would be into such a delicate and tedious task. When he tried to imagine her gardening but could only see her getting upset at something not growing and then just ripping everything out of the ground like an angry boar. He hid a small smile and decided it would be a good thing for them to try together, it would do them both some good.

"It would be work to orchestrate a club, I am taking five classes this term." It was a lot but Yuki knew he could handle it. "But I think it's a good idea, I can talk to someone at the Student Center tomorrow and see how to go about establishing a club." He told her. They would have to pick a time and a place and make flyers but he was sure it would be a worthwhile endeavor. Though he still had to see Kagura gardening to actually believe it. He figured maybe it helped her calm down and find her center. He had to wonder what sort of things she grew. He knew Kyo paled at the sight of leeks so he had to wonder what kind of foods Kagura liked and didn't like.

He was glad to hear Kagura was going to try to better herself and make steps to become a stronger person. "I have faith in your ability to overcome whatever is bothering you and if I can do anything to help, please let me know." Yuki smiled a bit more now, looking to her. He reached forward and place his drink back on the coaster on the table, mostly done with it for the time being. When Kagura mentioned Tohru, his smile faltered.

In his mind it was silly for Kagura to fret over her relationship with Tohru. He shook his head, "Kagura, you know Tohru cares about you regardless of what happened with Kyo...you know she doesn't hold any bad feelings or any sort of grudges. I know you two haven't spent much time together because of him but I don't think you have to worry about losing her as a friend." He tried to assure Kagura. He reached over and placed a hand on her back briefly before taking it away. Even though like him, she was cursed and wouldn't transform into a boar, he wasn't used to giving or getting much physical comfort. Not to mention the abuse suffered by Akito, had made Yuki careful not to get too close to people, both emotionally and physically.

The boy born in the year of the rat thought about Kagura's comment though. Maybe it would be useful to make a plan for them to go to the local movies and maybe grab some ramen afterwards. He had gotten his license, as had Tohru, and he had to assume Kagura and Momiji had done the same. Being able to drive allowed them to do plenty of activities. "Why don't we try to meet for lunch tomorrow if we're all free in the afternoon? If you're nervous about your standing with Tohru, it might help to be in a group setting and then try to approach her when the ice is broken. What do you think?"

Tohru

While Momiji redressed, Tohru's eyes lingered on the wall in front of her. Even though he had transformed in front of her many times before, it felt a bit different since he had his growth spurt. He was taller and more handsome than cute, he wasn't the same little kid she first met. Momiji then began to talk about the curse and whether or not there was one. If there was a curse, it had to be broken or fixed somehow. She refused to believe people like Kyo and Haru and Hiro were cursed for their entire lives. It wasn't fair at all and her heart ached, wishing she could help the Sohmas, even the ones who didn't seem to like her much.

She smiled when Momiji admitted he liked being a rabbit.

That wasn't much of a surprise to her and it was a cute image to think about. She had to consider their animal counterparts were a lot like friends. She knew Yuki used his rats to help move things and that if Kagura wanted, she could summon boars too. Feeling his hand on her shoulder, she spun around to look to him. Seeing Momiji so thoughtful and worried was something she didn't see very other. He always kept a smile plastered on his face but she knew he couldn't always be happy. While he was an optimist like her, she knew he had his own problems and concerns and that being happy wasn't possible every second of the day.

Tohru didn't know much about the curse. It was something no one spoke openly about. She was sure the oldest ones like Hatori and Shigure knew the most about it but she didn't like to pry, even if all she wanted to do was help. It was clear that Momiji was torn about the curse, even if he couldn't really decide whether or not to be cursed. She hated seeing him so conflicted about it. He was a kind soul and she wished she could take away the pain somehow.

"I don't think it's selfish. You've had the curse since you were born so I can understand growing accustomed to it and the joy that being close to rabbits brings." Tohru considered. "Still...there has to be a way for the curse to be changed. I'm sure the Sohma history may reflect past family members who have found a way to break it." She wasn't sure and had no way to personally check but if the curse had been part of the Sohma family for centuries, then she had to think one of them had found a way to break it. But to think Momiji may not want to break it, saddened her a bit but her logic was selfish. She wanted to be able to hold Yuki and Kyo and even Momiji without them transforming.

"Your curse doesn't define you though, you're Momiji. Sure you turn into a rabbit but just think if the curse was broken for you, you could hug anyone at any time. And you might be able to date. And if you miss cute rabbits, you can buy one and cuddle it all you want." She smiled to him, reaching out and placing her own hand atop his which was on her shoulder. "It is up to you though, whatever you decide I'll support you!" She still wanted to try and dig into more of the curse but it wasn't her place. "I just want you to be happy." She said, removing her hand as she glanced over to the boxes, knowing they had to get to work before ordering any pizza.
Okie dokie.

Supposedly in the manga Momiji's curse breaks because of Tohru but Tohru ends up breaking Kyo's as well and she picked him. But yeah Akito didn't want others finding true love and leaving him and I think that's why he hated Tohru and didn't want Kana and Hatori to be a thing. It'll be fun to bring in an evil Akito at some point. Luckily Kagura and Yuki don't have to worry about the curse but hopefully their's can be cured together since I know Sohmas marry but it's still something Akito would be against if it means he can't bully Yuki or Kagura anymore. So much potential drama. XD
The wiki helps shed light on some areas, I think Akito's father bared the curse but since Akito doesn't have anyone to pass anything onto, biologically speaking we could assume someone born within the Sohma family ends up becoming the head of it and controlling everyone but I'm not sure. We can probably decide whichever way we want though the curse could be finally broken at some point, it is for us to decide. :)
I wanted to check with you regarding the curse. Last night before bed I was reading up on Akito since I remember their portrayal was different from the manga version. I remember him being female in the manga (which I never finished but I got close enough haha) and I assume we're keeping him male for our story. But regarding the curse I couldn't find much regarding Akito's death tied to the curse. I recall him being told he'd die young due to his sickness but I don't know if that's curse-related, but we can make it curse-related. I also didn't know zodiac members have to follow his orders because he's the literal God of the family. I just thought they had to get permission but then could do whatever they want. Apparently the cursed have no choice but to obey Akito's orders literally, which is super crazy. But supposedly a member who finds true love could break the curse for themselves.

So by Momiji's logic the curse breaks if Akito dies? Should we also have another means like the true love thing maybe? Of course it's something Momiji and Tohru would find out on their own way down the line. We can't have instant romances haha. And it also sounds like Momiji had legit feelings for Tohru too so I wasn't imagining things. And my heart breaks even more because of it.
