Nyima's eyes widened when the market came into view. It was huge and nothing like anything she had seen in the north. Sure, they had stores but all of them were inside and most of them sold things people needed, this seemed to sell more things that people wanted. She shook her head when Rayn asked if there was anything she need, "No, I'm fine with what I have until I can pay for what I need," she looked at him and smiled, "I owe you enough already, I don't need to owe you anymore."

They walked slowly through the market and Nyima explored. Every once in awhile, she'd turn to him and ask a question about this or that. He might chuckle at her obliviousness to the world that was progressing outside of the North Water Tribe. She didn't mind though. It wasn't rude laughter. He'd tell her what each thing did to best of his ability in detail. Nyima grinned as he did, completely baffled by what the North was missing out on. She looked around and found a booth with familiar objects. She ran over to it and smiled, "You are from the Northern Water Tribe!"

The old woman behind the table laughed a little at her enthusiasm. She nodded, "I am... Although, I haven't heard anyone get that excited about it in sometime."

Nyima ran her fingers over the objects at the booth, "I used to live there," she picked up a hair comb with a flower, that looked to be frozen, on the top, meant to be worn in the hair on special occasions, "I used to have one of these..." She smiled softly at the item, "My mother gave it to me for my sixteenth birthday."

She placed it back down and bowed at the woman, "You have beautiful wares. They remind me much of home."

She stepped away from the booth and took a deep breath. She missed home already but she didn't want to go back. She looked over her shoulder at Rayn, "This is a lot to take in... The world is far different here...."
Zelia smiled when he seemed to calm down a bit. She nodded when he promised not to jeopardize Flynn's chances, "Good."

She took hold of his hand arm and pulled him away from the others. She looked him in the eye when they were a little distance away. She sighed, "You need sleep... You are getting snappish, Flynn deserved it but still.... You are going to end up snapping at the wrong person and things are just going to go downhill," she smiled softly at him, "We'll all go sit somewhere and I want you to try and get some sleep. It is still a bit of time before noon and we can wake you. You need sleep."

She looked back over at Flynn and Skye and waved them over. She looked at them both, "I was just saying to Trex that we should find somewhere to sit. Maybe let him take a nap before noon, get some energy back."

Flynn nodded, "Sounds good to me."

Zelia looked around slightly, "Maybe just a patch of grass would be nice to sit on while we wait," She spotted one and pointed at it, "Over there. Close enough that we'll easily be able to hear the curator when he comes out and talks."

She guided them all over to the grass and sat down. She looked at Trex with stern eyes, "Sleep."
Noko nodded when he said that he would head home after the game of War. She nodded and sighed a little. Stupid Ceba and Glaysten. If the two of them hadn't stuck their noses in and bugged them, maybe Hoshi would want to stay. Luckily for her, War was an awfully long game. They started to play it and laughed, cursing each other for stealing high numbered cards or whining for stealing low cards with high ones. She looked up at Hoshi after a little bit a smiled, "Thanks for levitating me of my boredom for a bit... I appreciate it.... Also thanks for worrying.... But not being overbearing, I suppose," She laughed a little, "I'm not fully used to that..."

They kept playing until Hoshi held 52 cards in his hands. She smiled and nodded, "Once you had all four aces... I knew I didn't have a chance."

She glanced at the door and back to him, slightly saddened, "So... You are leaving now... right?"
Nyima looked up at Zhou when he explained to the girl, that she had most likely never heard of her. She was about to say something when he mentioned bringing her home. She stepped away from him as he introduced Mizuki and her. She nodded to her slightly but her mind was only on what he had said. Home? She couldn’t go home. She didn’t wish to go home. Her brother was saying something, “Pardon?” She asked before she pieced together his question. She looked at Rayn, “Oh…. Umm… Friends, just friends.”

She looked around the area, god how much she just wanted to run away. However, she felt like Rayn would be awfully disappointed in her. She moved and stood next to him, feeling more confident with herself there. She bit her lip and looked up at her brother. She looked at him for a moment before sighing, “I’m… no going home with you, Zhou…. Um… No… Let me rephrase….” She glanced at Rayn and back to her brother, “I… I am home…”

Zenji looked at him and smiled at she rubbed the plushy against his face. She shrugged when he said she shouldn’t have, “I felt strange coming to a birthday empty handed…. And it wasn’t much trouble at all. I just grabbed it from my room….”

She had grabbed many things from her room. In fact, spare the furniture, there was nothing much that was left in her room. The Temple was quiet now and filled with the bodies of the dead. Whether she was staying with Ahsoka or not, she couldn’t remain there. There were too many memories with those who she had lost. She felt a sting in her eye and quickly turned away and sat down. She should have known something was up. She had felt it since the night before, something was different. Wrong or right, she didn’t know but something was changing her life. Surely, it was the death of everyone she had known. She smiled at Masuto, trying to forget what she had seen. She glanced at the radio, wondering if they were saying anything about the attack. She looked away from it and turned to the door when she heard the knock, “Oh good… I’m not the only person you invited,” she said with a teasing smile.
Nyima walked the door as he held it open and took in the city around her. When he started to walk, she quickly followed behind him. She looked in the direction he pointed when he brought up his own apartment. She laughed a little, "Well, what is the point of knowing the general direction?"

She smiled at him, as she crossed the street. She turned and started to walk backward as she looked at a passing car. Turning to face forward again she grinned. The city wasn't as scary in the light of day. She hopped a little up onto the curb and looked at him when she asked him where she wanted to go. She looked around as they walked, eyes wide with wonder, "I haven't a clue..."

She moved slightly as a woman walked by talking into something pressed against her ear. Nyima could hardly begin to imagine what it was that she was talking into. She clasped her hands in front of her as she tried to drink in everything as they walked. She looked up at Rayn, "What is your favorite place in the whole city? Could you take me there after?" she smiled up at him, "You have your work cut out for you," she blushed slightly, "I don't really know much of anything about Republic City..."
Zenji looked at Aki and smiled as she mumbled something. She didn’t hear her exactly but that didn’t matter. She clasped her hands together and glanced at Masuto. She smiled at him, “Happy Birthday by the way…” She reached into her bag and stood. Walking over to him, she pulled out a small Air Bison plushy. She shrugged and handed it to him, “I didn’t know if you would like it… I don’t really know what you like… But I… um… Had two of them, so I figure why not….” She smiled, “It is real Air Bison fur…”

Nyima stopped when Rayn did, not allowing her to move forward. She looked away from him, trying not look at him. However, a moment later, he placed his hands on her cheeks, forcing her to meet his eyes. She tried to continue to not look at him when he lifted her chin, giving her little to no choice. She snorted a little, “Your Nyima is a run-away….” She smiled softly, “And since when did I become your’s.”

She kept looking at him and swallowed, “Promise?”
She turned to face her brother when he said her name. She didn’t get a word out before he pulled her into his arms. She curled up in his arms and buried her face in his chest as she continued to cry. Sometime later, she pulled away from his chest and looked up at her brother. She just looked at him, trying to get it into her head that he was actually there standing in front. She smiled at wiped away her tears, “I’ve missed you….”

She hugged him again before looking over her shoulder at Rayn. She smiled at the man who had helped her through so much, “Zhou… This is Rayn… Rayn, Zhou.”
Nyima looked at him when he said he wasn't going to accept any money that she offered to him. She shook her head, "You will."

She looked down at the clothes when he mentioned them. She nodded her head, "They are quite comfortable in comparison... And I don't know how I would have been if I didn't have anything to change into..."

She spun around on the stool when Rayn mentioned seeing the city. She grinned and nodded, "I'd like that."

She hopped off her stool and looked at the man behind the counter. She smiled and gave him a small bow, "Thank you for allowing me to stay. Even if Rayn was paying you."

She then smiled at Rayn and nodded her head, "I'm ready to leave when you are."
Zenji looked around and nodded, "I think I read some books on the Fire Nation at the temple," she said calmly as she removed her hat. They were indoors now, she didn't think Masuto would have too many friends that were in the Rogue Benders. She pulled out the pins and let her hair fall and stuffed them into her pocket. She walked around a little and nodded, "This place looks an awful lot like it did in the books."

She smiled at looked at Aki and Masuto, "Of course, I've read more on the air temples and what they were like before the genocide... I don't know why... They are practically the same... What with Aavtar Aang and the monks having taught the faith to those who wanted to hear."

She smirked and perched herself on the edge of the couch, "I think it would be fun to see the Fire Nation."
~~~~~~
Nyima looked at the man who hid behind the wall. She knew exactly who it was, without even having to think about it. It was her brother. But in that moment, she became that little seventeen year old girl, frightened and weak. She felt a stinging her eye. She hated that sheltered Water Tribe girl. If she had been who she was now those three years ago, maybe she would have been able to save herself, instead of being saved. She wasn't that damsel in distress anymore and she never would have been if it hadn't been for how her family treated and protected her. She shook her head and turned away, "Must have been a trick of the light..."
She took Rayn's hand and started to walk away when she heard Zhou call her name. Nyima? Is that you?! She squeezed his hand tightly as the tears fell from her eyes, "Ignore him," she said quietly as she kept moving forward, not looking back. That's what she intended to do, she couldn't look back anymore. She was strong now, she could handle herself, protect herself. That wasn't her family who had done that. She had grown up, become her own person, thanks to Rayn and no one else. She had spent years thinking, what if she had gone home? What if she returned and married the man as they had intended? What if she had chosen to see her family again? What if she could? She was done with what ifs, this was her life now and she couldn't go back. She wouldn't go back. And so, she couldn't look back.
I was earlier... strange.
Aw man! I'm the ugly green again!
