CCG Headquarters Yuuka sighed. "Yeah. If we're going to get anywhere with this case, we need to learn more about him. Where he eats, where he sleeps, and who he spends his time with. We can use any one of these things against him, but our best bet is finding out who he associates with. Business owners, neighbors, coworkers. A Ghoul like this would have to have at least two of the three given his lifestyle." Yuuka stood up. "Keeping that in mind, the first thing we need to do is figure out where someone like him would go about procuring a horse in this city, and if possible, where he's getting his armor and shoehorses made. It's possible he had them made elsewhere and then imported, so we can't afford to neglect the possibility that this Ghoul is a foreigner. Keeping that in mind, we're looking for an upper middle class male, possibly of American or North-Eastern European descent, who does frequent business with blacksmiths, motorcycle enthusiasts and chop shops, and probably veterinarians as well. I think that narrows the list of potential suspects down quite a bit, don't you?"
CCG Headquarters Yuuka chuckled. "You think he's weird? You're an investigator now, kid. Trust me, things are about to get a whole lot weirder. Now let's see what we've got here." Yuuka grabbed a pile of papers and began power-reading them, showing incredible focus unlike anything Hisoka had seen from her so far. When it came to Ghouls, Special Investigator Matsuoka was all business. "A-rank Knight, real name and/or other aliases unknown. Male, six foot four, other distinguishing characteristics unknown. Koukaku-user. Kagune takes the form of a black elongated spear which he wields riding atop a large black horse or motorcycle. Subject has proven evasive, most likely knows the locations of all the cameras in the city. I think we can infer an ambush. Our best bet is to lure him out of hiding so we can face him on equal footing. What do you think, 3rd rank investigator Hisoka?"
CCG Headquarters "Special Investigator Matsuoka?" Yuuka was surprised to hear her name called and turned her head to face him. The boy standing in front of her was a real cutie. Looked foreign, brown and well-built, like a little mishka. He couldn't have been more than eighteen years old. "Rank 3 Investigator Araújo Hisoka. I'm your new partner, I think." This kid is the new recruit? He's not much older than Tatsumi would've been, if he... A noodle flopped freely and struck Yuuka right in her good eye, making her wince. Yuuka sighed and brushed the cup and the remaining noodles off of her head. "Sorry about that, there was a little thing with some other investigators and uh... anyway, it's unbecoming of me as an investigator to look so messy in front of my new partner. Feel free to chew me out later for my unprofessional behavior, Sergeant Hisoka sir!" she said, mock saluting. "So you're the newbie, huh? It's nice to meet you. My name's Yuuka. Matsuoka Yuuka, Special Investigator. I'll leave it up to you to decide what to call me." Yuuka held out her metal hand for Hisoka to shake.
CCG Headquarters, Eighth Ward Yuuka sat on top of a cafeteria table with her legs crossed, in as much as you could call what she was doing with her freakish raptor legs "crossing them". She absentmindedly spun an empty cup of pudding around her black metal finger, not thinking of much in particular. At the edge of her hearing she could pick up some people talking about her, throwing around the usual accusations. "Freak", "pervert", "race traitor". It was nothing she hadn't heard before, so she chose to ignore it. Come to think of it, she thought as she spun the empty pudding cup around and around, wasn't she supposed to meet her new partner today? She'd been assigned one of the newbies after Koizumi-kun decided he didn't feel safe working with her anymore. Which she didn't get. How many Ghouls had she killed? Dozens? Hundreds maybe at this point? She was the safest person to be with in the middle of a Ghoul attack! She spun the cup with calculated force, and it landed perfectly in the trashcan ten feet away. She picked up her plastic-wrapped sandwich. In any case, this marked the fifth partner she'd lost. The rest had all either quit or asked to be reassigned. That part she understood perfectly. She wasn't exactly the most popular person in the CCG. Yuuka felt something wet hit the back of her head. Someone had thrown a cup of instant noodles at her. She picked some of the wet, floppy noodles out of her hair and then looked around for the perpetrator. Two CCG agents stood around snickering near the exit. She smiled, and waved at them. "Thanks for the noodles, guys! I was thinking I could use a hot dish to go with this sandwich!" The two panicked and ran. Were they honestly that surprised they'd been spotted when they'd done such a poor job of concealing their malicious intent? In any case, she didn't hold it against them. As long as she could kill Ghouls, she was fine. She took a sip from her cup of coffee house coffee, noodles still dangling out of her hair. Still, she hoped she would get along with her new partner this time. It might be nice having her own little newbie to mentor, to mold in her own image. Who knows, could be fun.
I'd just love to see Yuuka and Yoko meet. I'm pretty sure I can imagine her reaction already. Yoko: *stares at Yuuka's breasts* "It's not fair..."
What's with all these English/American dudes? It was the Great Tokyo Earthquake. Were these guys just all vacationing in Japan at the time?
Yeah, come to think of it I can't really think of any good ways to use blood and electricity together, so Imma just say Thunderbird's BoS would probably be explosive or flammable blood. EDIT: Nvm, those appear to be taken... hmmmm...
Can doves start at CCG headquarters/other places or does everyone have to be in the vicinity of the Dining Hall?
Kay, so... ideas so far for potential Deadmen and Branches of Sin: -Shrike: A deceptively innocent and vulnerable looking kid who is actually a hardcore sadomasochist who fights by intentionally letting his opponent spill his blood, then skewering them with spikes made from his own blood. A very trap-based fighter who indulges in causing pain (and who may or may not have a hidden submissive side). -Pheonix: A regenerator. Don't have much else worked out with this one yet besides their Branch of Sin being the child of the Wretched Egg's regenerative abilities. -Thunderbird: A former assassin (probably Russian because yes) with a Branch of Sin related to electricity. Probably female, definitely very tall/large and and in charge. -Mourning Doves/Finches: Two siblings who share a Branch of Sin that only works when they're together. Still unsure about the name because "Finch" doesn't sound as cool as "Mourning Dove", but pairs of finches may not necessarily be mates whereas Mourning Dove pairs are almost always mates and... ick. -Cuckoo: A Deadman whose Branch of Sin only activates when their blood mingles with another person's, resulting in as of yet unclear (but certainly nasty) effects. No idea which one of these I'm gonna use, to be honest.
@Ves: Did you just stumble upon that by happy accident or are you a Tokyo Ghoul fan? If it's the latter, there's an RP running for that right now that I'm in. I can link you to it if you want. We can always use more players :D
