Bio

I am a rather middling RPer who likes to believe they are actually at an advanced level. This is of course, nonsense created by my desire to be known as good at something. In otherwords, I'm kinda okay at things and stuff.

As Siris thrusts forward, his rugged leather boots crush underfoot the over-sized Red Yeek felled before him, moving on, splashing through the fresh swathes of fetid blood pooling upon the ancient cobbles. Two thin passages flank the merc on either side, shrouded in shade and mystique, yet he hasn't the mind to throw so much as a glance down either. Mustering his courage onward as he chases down his prey.

With the greatest of the abominable creatures' assets fallen, accompanied by a might thump and the crunching removal of Lyun's axe, a wave of discontent washes over the little blue bastards. Quickly becoming near-on surrounded by the oncoming Hellions, brandishing their makeshift spear, the last Yeek remaining between Ashur, Siris, and Lyun absconds deep into the shade further on. A mire that very well could be hiding any number yet more of the rubber skinned monsters. All the mercenaries could go by were the slick patter of feet beyond the periphery.

YEEK WARRIOR #6 moves out of sight!

Zarif too wields the short spear handing to him by Etor with skill, warding off the three Yeeks within from pouring out of their little squalid chamber. Robed in odd furs and poached cloths, the priest of the Petrified God mutters yet more words in its foul and indecipherable language -- like a mixture of guttural groans and high-pitched squeals. Yet it does again seem to have the intended effect, what muscles the squat creatures could speak of seem to strain and engorge with ferocity unmatched, a lust for blood apparent in their otherwise beady and vacant eyes. The thought of what mayhem they could bring should they become more organized. . .
The pair of warriors swap places quickly, allowing for the fresh Yeek to lunge toward Zarif. They exchange blows with their spears, yet no life blood is spilt. The stench of sweat and violent desperation grows.

As Lyun's axe flies, taking the oversized beast down to flail in its death throes before the battered Siris, Ashür heeds the call of battle, dashing past Zarif, holding off his own lot and Etor both, interposing himself between the oncoming blue spear-yeek and the boy. As like, the scholar gives his meat shield a light tap on the shoulder and a few whispered honeyed words, sending Gesties off to rejoin the fray.

Kastilus: "Quite the calvacade of monsters, eh?" The archaeologist finds himself musing aloud. He does not duck and run for cover despite the precarious situation, nor does he avert his eyes from the dim lit battlefield. Simply gazing on with a cold intrigue.

Ashür: "Like as not, 'twas a Yeek through and through." The desperado replies to Etor besides. In the same breath he utters a word taken from the divines, not wholly unknown to the younger merc's lexicon. With the incantation, and a knobby finger tracing its rune, a sludge of crimson and shadow mire and engulf the warrior two paces to the right, agonizing it just as Gesties hefts that sickle sword for the final blow. Cutting down another of their numbers. "Worship too fervant of any divine is the path to many grotesquities. Pray thee meet not Zuzu's disfigured kindred, nor that our vice-captain loses himself to them."

The god of crystalline glass and their great incants flood the halls through the voice of the vice-captain Iddin-Ninshubar. As the priest positions himself for the inspiration of the Hellions, a momentary glance in the bleak shade abaft pry both his eyes and ears wide open -- counter prayers in a language foul and detestable, Zuug-Agbliish, the Petrified God's hand has not been withdrawn from the Zagrosian Yeeks just yet. A pair of spears fill in the choke just beside Iddin, drawn on by primitive religious fervor, one strikes true, catching him with a deep wound from the gnarled branch.

After felling the first of their quarries, Siris and moreso Etor steel themselves, the patter of slick feet against the brickwork below is too obvious to ignore, even over their spiritual leader's agony. Another pair of the blue beasts come into sight, one reaching the young spearman to strike, just barely, the boy wrenches up his own armament to parry. Only then are the pair of young mercs' attentions drawn even further on, a bellowous cry ripples through the cramped halls, mighty footfalls herald the coming of a prodigious foe -- A hulking figure the likes of Lyun's stature, warty skin draped over ever too large a skeleton, dyed crimson perhaps for the Scorpions it'd slain before. A Red Yeek charges into the fray, nearly unable to fit its frame in the antediluvian structure, hefting a mighty axe, scraping along the stones as it goes.

HELLIONS PHASE

Gesties breaths are ragged, yet the look of death wasn't quite yet in his squinting eyes. Even were it not the case, the incantations of the young thief manage to staunch the Scorpion's bleeding, and reknit the flesh below his hides.

Gesties: "Well well. . ." He wheezes, "Never thought I'd see the day a Hellion looked after one of Shůlaar's." He doesn't allow the moment to dwell though, standing up tall once more albeit with a dull pain in his chest, "What's more surprising. . . A vagrant kid like you can call upon the Divine Language." The man huffs, though his words were somewhat harsh, there was a clear intrigue at the very least. Again, not searching for a specific response, he heads off, filling in the spot between the bandit and their employer, his own blade now dangerously close to Ashur's back, feeling the pull to plunge it therein. Though cooler heads prevail.

As the disgruntled Scorpion is hurried forth by the edge of Ashür's blade, a curdling cry echoes from yonder bleak hall, bouncing back and forth from obelisk to obelisk. And with it, just as Gesties careens his head northwards, a sharpened spike, coated in Zuzu-knows what filth darts toward him, catching the merc through his abdomen which only elects another cry, pained and sharp to bounce through the crumbling rubble.

YEEK WARRIOR #1 moves to tile 11-29 and attacks Gesties with its GNARLED SPEAR for 8 damage.
GESTIES counterattacks with his BRONZE SICKLE SWORD for 8 damage.

Gesties: "D-Damn!" He cries out, a deep red stain swelling around that purple cloak of his. With a mighty swing back, his own gleaming bronze cuts deep into the blue beast's rubbery hide.

HELLIONS PHASE

Gesties wastes no time, clutching that thoroughly pain-stricken side of his and pushing his way past the bandit behind him, too on edge to stop the merc. He bumbles further, past Kastilus, Etor, and Makeen too. "You damn Hellion bastards are gonna get me killed. . ." He growls.

GESTIES moves to tile 14-32

Without a chance to retort any more than a riled grimace, Ashür fills the space that Gesties left for him, weaving that curved blade past the outstretched spike into the Yeek's throat.
ASHUR moves to tile 11-30 and attacks YEEK WARRIOR #1 with his BRONZE CURVED SWORD for 4 damage, killing it. He then recieves 18 XP.

Ashür: "On your guards, another lurks in the shadow!" He calls back, "Make no unnecessary moves."

The older man merely nodded, though rather ambivalently toward the young mercenary's words. Taking a few steps alongside them in the dark.

Kastilus: "I've naught to worry, not with your able band at my behest." For once the scholar manages to break his stony guise and muster a smile at the side of his lip. Imposing himself between the bandit and Etor himself, Kastilus inspects the rising pillars and brickwork, alongside their innumerable pictograms before replying to the boy in kind, "They speak of this Ziggurat in Zagros as one of the original cradles of civilization in days long gone. Of three equal parts, a place of governance, a place of worship, and thirdly of most interest to me, a tomb." His words are punctuated with various carven images deep in the cracked sandstone.

Kastilus: "Not of kings or men, but rather of a symbol. Clay tablets discovered in a ruin at Uruk name this as the resting place of the Crook of Dumuzid, a great lugal before the first Dynasty of Kish whose reign of ten sars brought unity to the people these lands, a unity unlike that of our current šar-kiššati. . ." The man sighs, he does not hold his tongue in the presence of the Hellions, though few would speak out against the Emperor. "Regardless, I've secured your pay in hopes to see Lugal Dumuzid's implement of rule with my own old eyes, you see."

TO ACT: IDDIN, SIRIS, ETOR, MAKEEN, KASTALUS

Ashür: "Right. . . Get moving, nice and slow." Ashür recommends, though the tip of his curved blade pointing forth, about half the distance toward their captive's back, was all the recommendation that Gesties needed. The bandit turns his head back toward the others, "If screams echo through the hall, we'll know where the danger is." He adds with a crooked smile before taking off cautiously behind the other merc.

Gesties: "We'll see who'll be screaming. . ." The bald man grumbles, hefting his own heavy sword ahead as he takes the most gentle steps he could manage between the cracked ground and lack of light. Yet all things considered, the air was dead quiet.
