Will post after work! Oh also my CS has been updated with fleet/ship info, and also a small change to weapons. I will also go back through and work on a few grammatical/spelling errors I saw in the rest of it (the risks of writing that really early in the morning I suppose)..
got it
post is up!
you most likely wont... unless you go kicking bee hives. anyways we got a 1v1 here with geth and humans. anyone else? if not i will have to be tie breaker and yall are gonna have to live with it. Also is everyone clear on how the rounds will work?
I would have to throw in my lot with the Geth, but perhaps augmented with husks/other reaper units ala Saren style? And I might just need a quick refresher on the rounds, but not if it would hold things up, I can always go digging through the posts
"Charnel, you copy? This's Stalin. I'll engage one of the Panthers and Ka's, the transporters can carry a maximum of 10 grunts. Way too many guests, too little food and drinks, da?"
"Copy that" Marciano replied, a small grin on his face, he had the feeling that he was going to like this pilot. Banking right to keep with the rest of his squadron, the Tornado's pilot kept his head on the swivel, looking for the bandits Knight-1 had warned them about. He hoped to see at least a glance at them before they got the drop on him, however as the alarm that began shrieking at him warned that today, was not going to be the day where that happened. Gritting his teeth he saw Stalin pull a few hard G turns to face the incoming threat and throttled his own engines up. As he entered into a hard left bank, Marciano keyed the safeties on the Sidewinders, leaving the AMRAMM's on standby. As he pulled out, Charnel saw that Stalin was still tangoing with Bandits, but they seemed to have gotten behind him. Throttling back a bit, to stop the Tornado from overshooting the pack, Marciano pulled his targeting reticule over one of the MIG's the slow beeps of the lock on began sounding as the computer acquired the target. Almost as if that was queue the MIG suddenly broke off, rolling to the right, trying to brake the Tornado's gaze on it. Swearing softly Marciano pulled to keep his aim on it, as the beeps turned into a long continuous note. Keying his radio Marciano broadcast a message to the only friendly MIG in the sky "Stalin, It's Charnel. Heads up launching Fox-2's, watch your tail." As he said this he thumbed the firing button on his stick, a dull thump sounding as the Sidewinder detached and launched, the contrail streaking out towards the MIG. The Bandit took a hard left, miniature suns being launched from its under belly, drawing the Sidewinder away from the fighter. "Shit, looks like this might take a bit. But I'll keep on 'em. How are you holdin up Stalin?"
Ok goal for today, ship classes and descriptions!
Hmm, so I have looked at it, and it looks like Im just gonna say that the Hive Ships (especially Hive Ships Alara and Mia) are my special ship, they certainly fit the bill. Now on the subject of ground units, im tempted to say that the Cleansing Swarms also fit said bill.
Hmm I have a few in mind and will post them when I get to a proper keyboard
Excellent! If you have more ideas toss em out so we can see what kinds of stuff you were thinking for the NS you made. And as of now its two in favor of clean slate. I will leave it open till tomorrow. Also please feel free to toss me plot ideas, I love others input on plots
Well it was more of a super hive, larger than the normal hive ships, though much rarer
Well I am most in favour of just starting with a blank slate. (definatly not that idea of our races comming to the original mass effect galaxy with the races still there because then i'd have to rewrite my entire race from the ground up) Also, I'd like to weigh in on that camouflaged ship. The idea is good and I don't see why you can't use it but it won't be very useful. You see, in space, you can hardly work off of visual scanning given the massive distances involved. Sensors pick up heat emissions from other vessels and so a ship that just obscures its visuals will still stand out on those sensors. A stealth system like that of the Normandy works because it stores its heat emissions in special sinks but that only works for a limited time and not while in a combat situation (because operating weapons would generate too much heat). In fact, heat is the major limiting factor in space combat because larger ships especially can only go on for so long before they have to vent their excess heat lest they boil their own crews. That said, a visual camouflage system on a smaller ship is still rather handy when landing on alien worlds, if only so the locals don't just plain 'see' you. In addition, it'll probably fool any defensive system that works off of laser targeting (such as Kimo point-defence systems for example)
Eh, I was thinking about using the ability for small frigates in the main fleets, using them like subs (that at normal mass effect fleet engagement ranges, could probably work wonders with optical cloaks) that uncloaked fired off a few torpedoes and recloaked. Well that and Advance Heavy Transports that preceded the fleets to a planet. But I have another idea kicking around if this one is too useless, to be honest it was a passing thought.
