Paulo did a double take-- he didn't want to get left behind.
"Bye!" He bubbled.

Without waiting a moment longer for a response, Paulo turned, then shuffled after the Mutants. Or... should he be saying 'Fellow Mutants'? As they went along through the tunnels, he followed the Mutants at a distance, with questions on his mind. Within him, there lie the burning desire to find a mirror of some sort. If he was gurgling, then there was definitely something new where his face had been. Then again? Perhaps it was for the best that he didn't find a mirror. Maybe it was also for the best that his suit registered him as deceased.

Wouldn't it be easier this way? Not having to confront his family in a state that-- in a lot of loud opinions-- was worse than death. To be an acid leaking gurgling man in a suit definitely implied that there was a lot of change. What would the "regular people" do with him? What would their reactions be upon seeing him? As the Alpha mutant started up the ladder, Paulo stood and waited, and then the noise picked up--

Was that gunfire?

Where were they?

Opening the wrist console on his suit, Paulo pressed a few buttons, which gave him several error messages, before he closed the stupid thing. A displeased bubblling noise left him just before it came to be his turn to climb the ladder. Whatever lay at the surface, Paulo was about a million percent sure he wasn't ready for it.

Love it! Dee suits hahah! He answers to it but rolls his eyes for sure. Hasnt protested tho. The only one to ever give this guy respectable a nickname.
And he doesnt use any of the rude nicknames folks have given her. And yeah he has the decency to chat, since he cant shut up about how great he is at music anyway.

And he may mention weirdly specific observations about her volleyball teammates every now and then. He watches their habits. "That one girl is always digging out wedgies when she thinks nobody's looking..."

@Utrax Hey! So thinking since we should have some familiarity between chars (and its just us two so far) can we say that both our chars know each other through remedial or 'applied' courses? Thinkng Maths in particular?

Anywho I'mma say that when Dennis fell asleep in class everytime the others would toss things at him, draw on him, tape signs to his back etc. that Ricki would at least try to clean him up before he woke up. Like he's a loner and she respects that, but she knows what its like to be the butt end of jokes so I think its the least she would do.

Also can we say this reached its apex during the infamous "Baby Dennis" scene? Thinking when they were around 15. One time before Xmas break the others staged a Nativity scene on his desk and posted pics online. But the one that got Ricki the most heat was when she tried to clean it up and they snapped her holding several 'set pieces' in her hands. Caption: 'IT WAS CHEWY!! Clever girl...'

I'm sure he at least thanked her once and maybe even held a door open a few times. Jerk's got manners... sometimes. He probably doubted it was her who set it up but still gave her to occasional glare.

He's so bad at math people probably wondered how he never failed.

And maybe if shes gone camping or hiking, theyve crossed paths a few times, which means she probably knows he talks to himself. And sings. And whispers.

And since shes commonly found on the beach, this guy can also be found there, and he's more than likely been spotted staring at her like a weirdo. But he does that to a lot of people. May have a reputation for it.

Dennis Ramsey

Dennis Ramsey

Appearance:
Standing around 5ft 8in, with a slim build, and deep skin, Dennis doesn't stand out as anyone very noticeable. He wears glasses, keeps his coily hair trimmed and faded, and never seemed to develop any facial hair. His fashion sense brings the words "school teacher" and "librarian" to mind, with his closet full of sweaters, sweater vests, slacks, bow ties, neck ties, and loafers. This fashion sense seemed to have developed mid-way through middle school and is a rather odd effect of "puberty". The only time he's seen outside of this stiff sense of fashion is when he's forced into gym clothes or when at home-- where he normally lounges about in his very formal 2 piece pajamas. He has 3 pairs of glasses, all with transition lenses, and they all scream "elderly person reading a newspaper," for both their thickness and their frame build.

Face

Personality:
Dennis knows for a fact that he is smarter and better than anyone else he'll ever meet but, he's not going to say it to their face. Instead he will turn his nose up at them, give them judging stares, or scoff in the face of their ignorance. To say that he is hard to get along with understates the sheer social-ineptitude he possesses. He thinks that he simply doesn't have time for people, because they're too difficult to understand, but the reality is he's got a ton of anxiety, and often finds himself bailing on interaction as a form of self-soothing. Underneath it all he's even more of a jerk, as he thinks he understands life and what motivates people, in a very nihilistic and pessimistic viewpoint, which is why he always looks out for himself-- without a moment of hesitation. Somehow, he's actually quite talkative, even if it's simply tearing someone down and "giving reality" to them.

Likes:
His room, plants, poetry, spicy food, and cats.

Dislikes:
"Ignorance", Pizza, sports, people, and crowded places.

Hobbies:
Piano, Singing, Poetry, Thrift Shopping, Trolling Reddit, and Hiking.

Background:
Despite both his parents being kind and loving hippies-- the type that seek spiritual freedom and practice meditation-- Dennis turned out to be a rather aggressive child, though not in a physical manner. When he was young he was always seeking, touching, experimenting, and trying to figure out how every single thing worked, while constantly moving here and there without much focus. Only when he finally touched the keys of a piano did he stop and sit. Turned out he was something of a prodigy and, after having grasped the complexities of piano before the age of 7, he eventually began to write his own music, teach himself to sing, and continued to pay no other attention to anything else.

Gifted at piano but not at school, Dennis' grades constantly suffered, due to a heavy disinterest in schooling outside of music. He never failed a class but always came close; only picking his grades up the past two years of high school in order to qualify for a music scholarship-- a requirement which struck him as "stupid." He's got a full ride to Berklee College waiting on him and is happy he didn't waste a second trying to get friends in high school. Though he wasn't bullied, he was always considered something of a "weird kid"-- so weird that he didn't even fit into the group of outcasts. Most will probably remember him-- if they remember him at all-- for having slept through the majority of his classes.
