*Looks up, considering the thought, before finally answering*
I don't accept the existence of destiny. At least, not in this sense. But I fully accept the circumstances of my life.

I don't think it really matters what you call it, but an equally fair opinion regardless.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

Gifted, yes, but the path was admittedly chosen for me. Not that I'm bothered by that reality.

Not the type to be perturbed by destiny either, or at least the idea of it. I suppose if you love it and are good at it, there's no reason to be bothered by it.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

Not quite. Consider my name predestination, given some unusual circumstances of my birth.

Imagine being so good at science that it's foretold as you're born.
*Laughs*
You don't have to, of course, but that's how crazy it sounds.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

A bit too on the nose, according to some.

Did you name yourself? Change it somewhere along the way? I could be easily convinced of that.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

*Chuckles*
Perhaps I'm visualizing the designs of my own labs.

A man of science? You have quite a fitting name, then.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

And they posed no threat once activated?

Maybe you've painted the wrong picture. They were autonomous worker robots, not combat models.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

Did residual drones cause you any trouble?

*Laughs*
Opposite conclusion again. Powering them back up is how I managed to get the thing running again.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

Then you faced few obstacles securing the device?

Not securing it, so much as getting to powered on and functioning after years of collecting dust. These things were typically run by several people or drones at once.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

Ah. Not by choice, in that case.

*Chuckles and shakes my head*
I sure hope that it wasn't a choice.
<Snipped quote by Valiance>

How would an item like that end up abandoned?

Less of an item, more of a structure. And it was abandoned when the people who owned it were wiped out in the collapse, for certain.
