Through combat?

Likely. Helping people is the goal. Just so happens that I’m best at helping people by stopping bad guys, comic book style.

So other than hunting down those two, what direction are you going? What’s next?

Broadening my horizons. This is going to sound cocky, but my level of combat prowess is bottlenecked on a single world, especially one that mostly has its problems solved. I wanna find some avenue to do good for the rest of the world too.

I can understand both perspectives. I don’t want to condemn one or anything.

Sure, don’t condemn it, it’s justified. But being positive just feels better.

At least you sound optimistic about it.

It really sucks to be any other way about it, wouldn’t you say? Drags everything else down.

Would you call yourself naturally lucky?

I live upon silver linings, friend. Little strokes of luck where it matters, I suppose, but not quite naturally lucky.

That's a scary thought. You have my sympathy for your home.

To my understanding, those responsible were wiped out. But I’m looking for the one responsible for my original home. It’s crazy to consider, I managed to survive two massive calamities like that.

How did those end up spared?

It was a targeted thing. But no one really knows by what.

Offworld like ships?

Ships, remote stations, visiting other societies.

When it collapsed, did every planet go into anarchy?

No planets lived. They were all killed off. People offworld were the survivors.

Militaristic as in controlled by the military, or is it more of a national pride kind of thing?

Pride, definitely. The military doesn’t actually run things. In fact, they haven’t done much if anything in the rebuilding era. But they were historically known for colonization and expansion into space before, more than wars and the like.
