Haven't really sat down to work on things here, but still got the couple ideas I'd mentioned earlier. I'll hack something together eventually.

And to answer the question, no real plans to do half-yokai stuff at the moment. I'd roll an oni if I could, but that's probably a bit unfeasible.
I do like the idea of rituals being a thing for caster-types. They take longer to do and aren't something you'd likely be able to just toss out during a fight, but they have a place in things, and can enable some fun scenes or other writing.

Now that I've seen everything I suppose it's time to start thinking of character ideas. I'm not sure I have anything for Specialist types, though.

I still like making someone who primarily operates Arts by summoning shikigami spirits to do things for them, from fighting to spying to whatever else. It just seems like a fun idea for a character. And I want to try doing something with Fighters, just to show something fun there.

I'm not sure if it'd better fit into specialist or another class, but possession as a thing does strike me as potentially fun to play with, with the agent (or the source of supernatural power or skill for the agent, at least) not really being the person so much as a youkai or other being that's cooperating with them, presumably with their knowledge and consent.
Take all the time you need.
Honestly, if there's nothing deeper to read into it and it's just off the cuff stuff, it's probably fine.

I do like some of the ideas for Fighters, by the way. Like describing their techniques in detail so they can be a kind of keyword or shorthand and people don't need to describe in detail every strike they make in every post. I like that.

Actually, speaking of, how mystical or supernatural can one get with fighter-style things? I'm guessing, because this is already very modern fantasy anime flavor, the answer is "yes", but still, can't hurt to ask. I assume fighters can do things like move inhumanly fast, leap great distances, launch blade waves or maybe summon elements to enhance their strike,s that sort of thing.
For my own comments on structure and the like, I think it's more Arts compared to Fighters. Fighters have a fairly limited framework of so many talents and well-defined techniques, related to their rank. Arts characters have general schools and as many spells as they can get away with. It's sort of strange to me that we have a comparison of one class/path that's very rigidly defined in what you can have and all based on rank, and a second that doesn't do that.

I suppose it makes me wonder just how much rank and the like will matter to things, and how/if there's an expectation of character progression and levels like a tabletop RPG.

As for ranged combat fighters, if guns are out, just go traditional and use a bow. There's as much room for weird archery tricks as there is gun kata, anyway.
The arts stuff is pretty neat. although a bit less structured than fighter creation, it seems.

About the only thing I can see is I hope there's a major discipline for summoning shikigami and the like. Because it's fun, pretty much. And a relatively big area in onmyoudo, so it'd seem appropriate for something people could do.

I'll have to think about what sort of character I'd like to play. I've got a few weird ideas, but nothing too concrete.
Hopefully a few others turn up. I can't be the only other fan of one or both games on this site.

I'd say, yeah, overall it's a matter of just going with what feels appropriate for the story.
That's fair. One could also argue that eating a god eater at least temporarily gives one the same abilities. But even then, in the long term, that's still likely to end up with one very dead revenant.

At least if healing bullets work on revenants, they won't have to worry about dying quite as often. Transfer bullets and burst effects might be a little less useful, though. The real fun of this sort of thing would be doing stuff that doesn't happen in the games but still makes sense, though. God Arcs are mini Aragami, so you can probably use them to cut (or devour) a way through walls and other normal matter, for instance.
I'm pretty cool with a chill posting speed on things, so I'll be just fine with that sort of thing.

Kamigakari's a neat game, but given it's a Japanese tabletop RPG, it's kind of a niche within a niche. I only heard about it due to blind luck and tripping over something mentioning it.

Definitely looking forward to the other character classes.
Well, this is interesting. Though, I do wonder how things would go for god eaters cut off from Fenrir. God Eaters without access to a supply line tend to have well-documented problems once their bias factor meds run out.
