In keeping with standard suggestions, I've popped in here to introduce myself and tell you all a little bit about my preferences! I've been a part of a few different roleplaying forums and communities, but I believe that this is the biggest one that I've come across in recent time. It seems to be a pretty nice little spot you have here, so I have a feeling I may be settling down to lurk for a little while! Typically, I like to get a feel by creeping threads before jumping in myself, as I don't want to step on any toes.
I began roleplaying ...sixteen years ago? (Uhg, did that math on that and was a little mortified to find that it's been that long) I started out in MSN chatrooms (told you it was long ago...) and migrated over to ICQ and Yahoo! rooms once that died down. From there, I built up a half decent little network of RPers and typically found that I preferred doing things privately in a one on one fashion as it worked a bit better with my schedule. I still hold to that today, but I do participate in the odd group RP!
My preferences within RP are pretty straight forward. I favour paragraph-length posts, typically centered around third person POV and out of habit I always stick to past tense. Paragraph amount isn't really something I have a hard 'must' for. A short paragraph made up of 5 sentences or so is a perfectly acceptable post to me and depending on how many paragraphs my partner writes, I try to emulate that length. I find that typically I hover at around 3 paragraphs a post on average.
In terms of genre, I settle mostly in the wide blanket of fantasy. High fantasy, medieval fantasy, modern fantasy, and comic book based (specifically revolving around the Marvel and DC companies. A few of the favourites are Avengers, X-men, Batman, and the Justice League) are the genres I tend to fall back on. I do have some experience in Sci-fi, horror, post-apocalyptic/survival, and contemporary, but I'm not overly strong in those genres (or, for some reason I lose interest in them. Perhaps not the right stories have popped up for me yet). I also enjoy RPing a number of different fandoms from various novels, TV shows, movies (comic book movies especially), and a few animes (though I'm not a huge anime fan, admittedly). I'll do just about anything in terms of subject matter. I'm fine with adult themes like drugs, sex, angsty stuff. I do love fluff as well! I tend to play male characters more often than females for whatever reason. Romance without smut is something I'm totally fine with! I'll do just about any type of pairing. Heterosexual, homosexual, and any thing in between.

I love getting into characters and having fun with them outside of RPs by just talking about them or the RP itself. I'm a hair stylist by trade and have sort of funny hours, but typically will get a response in at least once throughout the day. I'm Canadian and my time zone is EST. When I'm not up to my neck in snow and maple syrup, I'm usually flitting around the house, writing, cleaning or doing witchy things (I've practiced witchcraft for many moons, now).
