I personally don't believe that bankers exist. You can disagree tho, it's a matter of opinion.
It seems unlikely for there to be no vestigial elements of patriarchy left. I mean, shit, there are still vestigial elements of fucking feudalism floating around in the west.

I'm more into liquid Venus myself.
<Snipped quote by Vilageidiotx>

The only problem I have with toxic masculinity as they present it is that they claim it is the work of the patriarchy. Actually, both males and females contribute to male stereotypes, not just males, which is not what they claim it to be (patriarchy)

Another problem I have with this concept is that it is most commonly used by radical feminists to blame men for pretty much everything they have an issue with. And yes, they have used this term in order to fit their agenda that only males are capable of such violent acts as these.

It's something that is actually a decent theory, but is misused dreadfully and blame is disproportionately placed in general on males, as if everything wrong in the world is because of us solely.

There are those sorts of people who get the concept of patriarchy confused; they talk about in a way that accidentally turns it into an entity rather than a cultural idea, so that the 'Patriarchy' is used the same way somebody might use 'Illuminati'. Yes. Those people are wrong. But the fact that there are nutjobs on the fringe doesn't detract from the legitimate arguments they are getting confused. In the same way Christians shouldn't be summed up by Westboro Baptist Church, and Muslims shouldn't be summed up by ISIS, Feminists and Progressives shouldn't be summed up by sixteen year old shut-ins on tumblr.

Like, you want to avoid doing that thing where people hear a word and flip out irrationally. Don't froth at the mouth when you hear "Feminist", or else you'll end up the equivalent of one of those Atheists who froth at the mouth when they hear "God", or one of those sixty one year old shut-ins on the Yahoo News comment section that froth at the mouth at "Obama".
I think you misinterpreted what you quoted. Like, nothing you said flowed from the definition you provided. It seems they are saying that 'toxic masculinity' describes men feeling socially pressured to behave in a way that is accepted as masculine even if doing so is destructive to them. They aren't saying that men are innately violent, but rather the opposite, that men are being pressured into behaving that way despite their instincts. Knowing the way teenage boys work because I was one once, I think there is some validity to that.

I don't know if it is relevant to this case or not, but the concept as a whole isn't crazy unreasonable. You just have to avoid the reactionary knee-jerk when you read about it. They aren't blaming you, relax, they are just hypothesizing how social constructs related to gender might have an effect on a case like this.

Play louder sounds on a trombone.
On an individual basis perhaps, but if the entire species failed to 'go hard' than we would most likely go extinct.
Why is the general sentiment that unique, super special snowflake names are bad? Like, it's all fictional, if I wanted some realism I'd just go outside for once.

The problem is the effect. Storytelling is basically a form of manipulation - you are trying to get another persons mind to imagine things a certain way and think a certain way. People remember things better if they have some familiarity with them. So even in a fantasy world, you want to use familiar phonemes so that names feel familiar to the reader. That is unless your character is suppose to be foreign in unusual, in which case you shoot for the Polish elves.

The problem with the fancy names in the style of "Silvanius Precrestortude" is that they are pretentious. You can have pretentious characters, but you don't want everybody to be pretentious. And if Silvanius Precrestortude ends up being regular folk, the name comes off as out of place and weird.

Of course, you can break these rules for effect, but you kind of want to know how to follow these sorts of rules so you know how to break them properly.
