I hate RP based on a single group because it gives little to no room to flesh a character put individually
Well, that just sounds strange to me. Have fun, I don't think our RP ideals are anywhere close to each other, so I'll pass.
Music
Might be better to focus on the Pirate group or Marine group instead of trying to have your cake and eat it too. Giant anime sandboxes always end up have a lack of focus which devalues the story the GM is trying to tell. Also gives you less work.
