Ken possesses a slightly casual and brash attitude to follow with his very upfront and honest opinions. This attitude cloaks a more keener and diligent side of him that strives to understand more about monsters before or after he has encounter them. This understanding of monsters makes him seem to favour brute force than tactics when he actually uses brute force as a technique to flush out his targets quickly. Trust is an affinity that he hesitantly values, this is due to a previous event that occurred when hunting in a small group three years ago. An overall to-the-point kind of guy, he is happy to hunt small or big game as long as people are happy.
Backstory :
His pale skin indicated that he hailed from Cathar, the village in the sky tending to its fields and caring for its little pastures that it had. The young Ken had to learn and understand the creatures that he cared for in Cathar which meant that he needed to be able to anticipate them. He turned to whatever monster books that Cathar had in store. With the permission of the Elder he learned ways of the monsters enough that he found fascination and interest in them. He worked humbly towards this goal of monster hunting from that day forth.
Several years of humble beginnings paid off when one day a flock of
Remobras raided the fields and pastures. Ken took up the sword and driven them off on his own and experienced first hand what dealing with real feral monsters were like. Several more years of achievements through driving out Remobras and his stages of maturity, he was allowed out of the village to begin his dreamed career as a Monster Hunter by gathering to the Hunter's Hall at Val-Harbar.
His first mission were with three other hunters. They were tasked to hunt several Jaggis that were disrupting the trade route area but was not warned of the apparent Kecha Wecha threat that had been roaming the area. Their first mission ended in shambles as the Kecha Wecha wreaked havoc and the other hunters fled, leaving Ken behind to either fight for his own safety. He was badly injured attempting to fend off the Kecha Wecha, receiving much scarring across his torso and lower waist area. He had successfully damaged the Kecha Wecha enough that it fled, but that was at the cost of his trust towards other hunters.
His recovery wasn't swift and certainly was not painless. The scars etched was the symbol of his distrust towards other Hunters. During his recovery, he read more books about monsters and their ecology in order to udnerstand them more and once he fully recovered, he took on many of his missions Solo with much successes following after each quest. So comes the time at Val-Harbar where he was summoned to receive a note. With a lazy eye he skimmed its contents and set off for the destination that was written.
