Current You've heard of BBW and BBQ, but have you heard of BMW? Neither have I, they never signal their turn.

@Cyndyr, ho ho! Jk, I don't have the power to track that down.

Bio

Thank you for visiting my biography.

I am just a typical Aussie Young Adult juggling social life and work at the same time.

I have not roleplayed in years. I thought maybe I'll re-login once in a while and see how the Guild is going.

I have lost touch with the friends that I've made while I was a resident here. Those of you who were my friends, know that I enjoyed my time roleplaying with you and I hope that it is mutual.

I hope to see you in another life.

No, nothing really. When I gm, I usually give players freedom to fill in the blanks by just giving them general ideas of what is going on. Just work with what I gave you and come up with something that drives your character onward.

Which post is linked to the murder by the way?
well when you're stuck at home taking care of your mom you have all the time in the world. thursday nights become my friday night lights. I make sure dinner is a finger food and i curl up on the couch with a 2 liter of peach soda and watch the magic happen.

I would want to have that much free time again. At least I could RP more often. But then again, I've been suffering from a huge writing block, even now.

I find it difficult to RP.

I may as well own up: this is my first time actually playing a game. I was introduced to the concept by reading the like of DM of the Rings or Darths & Droids, and I've also read through the Player's Handbook for the 5th edition, but yeah, still first time. So I still have plenty of questions about how everything works together during actual play.

Also, you and @neogreggory can take your turn. Bandit leader will be engaging Sionnie and the other bandits come after you guys.
this is my first 5th ed game. i've play a 3.5 and a 4th ed game prior. most of my experiance of dnd recently is critical role, a show on twitch by the channel geekandsundry, where matt mercer(dm) and a bunch of other really cool voice actors play dnd. last week they had chris hardwick as a special guest. in the past they even done a special video with vin diesal. im a huge fan of the show.

Don't catch up with them, but certainly watched the one with the Diesel. I don't have neough time to tune in >.<
Suspect had multiple puncture wounds, and seemed to travel quite a distance just to collapse at the cafe. There is a blood trail leading to an alley, but there is no sign of a struggle or a murder weapons. What's more there were no witnesses to the crime itself, but several people stated they saw a blonde haired male running to and away from the scene of the crime after the events have occurred. The puncture wounds seem to be from longer than average knives, and from the positioning- the assailant had two. The first stabs seemed to be enough to kill the man, but the ones that followed after were sloppy and just meant to cause pain.

@VKAllen

I may not build a text wall like everyone else, but I'll try to make something good out of it. Just let me know: do you want anything to come out of that (a further deepening of the case) or no?
@Natsucooldude Indeed.

We have two people (or more?? @justTypical) who are well versed in the Tabletop D&D.

Please ask questions about the system. A lot of it.

This edition has always been controversial for changing many of the game's rules and is in many ways incomparable to both the preceding and succeeding editions. So again, trying to compare the tabletop to the videogames just will not work. Especially not a game based on 4E rules.

Boy how am I glad that I started with the fifth edition.

Truth is I have done some research in combat but it never told me how to achieve the skills I desire as a rogue.. Like I said I do not know how to do or find every thing and I did assume some things where similar.. like dodge and evasion from ddo.. It surprises me they are not used in 5e. However if you'll help me I am willing to learn the right way.. I know what I want to be able to do I just don't know what I am able to do or not yet and how to get skills like stun, or use my backstab to insta-kill and assassinate. I do not even know the function for dodge if it is not based on a roll. Believe me I am trying to learn but that does not mean I do not need some help. and it would really help if you told me how. I admit I have made some misconceptions but as a newb I thought this would be normal until I learned how things work and that you would help me.

The only thing I don't know is what you do not tell me what you don't know. Do me a favour and ask questions. Do not assume, ask questions.

@justTypical 2 in the east and 2 on the west, between brushes 10 feet away from the bandits in the middle.
@VKAllen Ah, as of right now, there's WiHi Cafe (but that might still be the scene of a murder investigation), there's the diner (but that place got trashed when Vicki and Garrett fought), and then there's Matt & Liam's apartment, which got messed up by Sam.

Soooo. Yeah. There's a few places that everyone frequents

There's an avenue Vel'Koz would assume.

Murder Investigation.

EDIT:

Can someone tell me what happened in that murder? This is so that I could RP my character properly?
<Snipped quote by VKAllen>

I apologize, I told you I was a newb that has only read the books.. As Gm I kind of expected you to teach me.. Let me explain, then tell me how I achieve my desired results in table top. Once I understand I will not be so ticked..

For instance I did not want to use a bow before and yet you forced me too and I let that go. You could have easily replaced the bow with a dart or throwing dagger but you forced a proficiency I did not want. still I let that go before..

Now I was unsure whether my evasion was something I had to roll for but in the books it was a major part of combat for rogues, rangers, bards, and agile fighters.. so if I can just automatically dodge that makes things easier.

As for understanding rogue combat I only know how I have played them in mmo's my favorite being Neverwinter. In never winter my rogue focused on critical hits and power stats that made her quiet the glass canon and I had a powerful life steal a stat to keep me alive and drain the mobs dry.. I want to be able to get behind something and stun it, cripple it, bleed it, or kill it the way I have played them in every other game. I though with a 19 I would have enough power to kill him with my backstab and so a gave it a little flavor. If you will learn what it is I want instead of forcing choices on me and show me how to get there, you will find I will cooperate much easier sir. I don't intend to make your job harder, but I think I should get a choice and not have it made for me. I really like the Neverwinter rogue, and they say it was based of 5e in table top so that is what I want. And I really did role a 20, my sister can verify it, saffira is my sister, that is why she gets a little in my case. sorry.

The actions which I had forced upon was due to the fact that several posts had flewn by. Despite the neutral state of that post, I still had to make sure that no others are required to change their post because your post became different when I told you to change.

The reason why you had a bow was because Rogues start with a bow, and you never specifically told me that you did not want a bow (but that is also because I have not told you or shown you that you do).

Now, you've been researching on how your character will progress in the game by looking up guides and builds. You also told me your experience with the Lore of D&D. You even go as far as researching what weapons you want to receive during your adventures. With all of these research put in for the game, I would've thought that that you had done some degree of research on how Combat works in tabletop. Now, you told me that you've played Neverwinter, but I will cite Natsu again-- DDO (Neverwinter included) is a fool's errand of actual tabletop D&D. Despite of him saying this no one had questioned how Combat worked.

Another thing:

Quick mind map for you guys to give you some sort of idea what's around you guys.

The red lines indicate the dividing line between the road and forestry.

The arrows represent us, and the three in front the enemy (bandit leader is in the middle of course).

The initiatives has been updated as well. Please note that the Initiative will be your posting order in terms of carrying out your turn. Other NPCs that are not yours I will control. Be mindful that since we are doing a dice system, an auto hit will be forced on you should it connects.

You are NOT required to wait for the result of the previous person's dice roll if you are the next person to post. I will take note and give you the results on the next NPC post.
A turn consists of:

1 Action + 1 Bonus Action
Movement Action
1 Weapon Interaction
You may also do ability checks once per turn (some ability checks will be disadvantaged in battle)

There was no questions raised either.

@justTypical Kudos to you, sir.
