Fateful Convergence

"Damn right, I hope so!" Hayley muttered under her breath and took off, giving Irene a thankful nod as she followed Sean to his house. She felt her hair standing on its end and her entire body jittery with worry. She couldn't accept the fact that they were simply following the whims of a man who not only proved to be perfectly willing to take them on, but also responsible, if his words were to be believed, for Isaac's woes. There was another concern that lingered in her mind. "I'm surprised you're so upfront and honest with me. I thought you'd simply dismiss me for being a girl, then let me sweep the floor with your ass once I'm through with you."

Ajala, Arcana, Fiona

"I'm fine... I was just in a hurry. Thank you for asking," Ajala replied, somewhat surprised to see Arcana looking so concerned for her well-being. While she didn't have the most cynical view of the students of Ouroboros Academy, she didn't expect too much attention on her, especially not from a new student. Nonetheless, it made her feel somewhat glad to know that she's still worthy of concern. Clearing her throat, she readjusted her posture and eventually calmed down after her rushed slithering from her class. She smiled at the harpy as her way of thanking her for her concern, then turned to Fiona and asked, now with a calmer state of body and mind, "So, what do we need to do today, Fiona?"

Having Isaac by her side gave her a sense of comfort she had never felt in a while. Even in the presence of Sean and his overwhelming tick of suspicion, Hayley gradually managed to calm down and held onto Isaac's hand in response, smiling softly at him. Never thought I'd let a guy make me feel like this, not that I mind anyway, she thought to herself and relaxed as she finished her food. Waiting for him to get ready, she scanned the deli for any suspicious people, somewhat hoping that Sean was as non-hostile as he had claimed. With her barely knowing what she could do with her powers, she couldn't risk getting into trouble.

Ajala, Fiona, Arcana (cameo)

Ajala slithered as fast as she could towards the gardens. She had volunteered to help with tending the carnivorous plants and she didn't want to be late, especially not when she had made a point to keep her words every time. The last lesson was something she greatly enjoyed and Pamela had been kind enough to give the class preparation for their next class. Noticing Fiona in the distance, she hastily made her way there and greeted with a panting, "Namaste!" Compared to other hybrids, nagas and naginis weren't known to be the fastest beings on the land and she knew that well. Huffing and looking around, she realized that her partner for the day, Arcana the harpy, hadn't arrived yet, allowing her to breathe a sigh of relief. "I thought I was late."

He's been nagging and whining about eating there for the past three weeks. Since I'm leaving in a week, he said that I should come so we could spend time together. I'm pretty sure he's taking me so he could dump things he couldn't finish to me. ^^;

I'll post tomorrow as my brother is dragging me out for dinner tonight. No buts, no ifs. I do suspect that he's only taking me because his eatery of choice is an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. :P

Although taken aback and nervous, Hayley saw little need to distrust Isaac's judgement with most that she had seen so far being justified and correct. "Alright, I'm putting my life on the line for this, Isaac. If you think it's okay, then I'll trust your judgement," she replied to him with a quick nod, then turned to glare at Sean. "I still don't trust you, you cheeky bastard, so don't you dare pull any tricks on either of us. You won't like the results, at all," she hissed, still intending on taking him on despite his earlier warnings. To drown out the argument, the blonde started digging into the remainder of her food, keeping a vigilant watch over the bespectacled man.

Hyaley bit her lip and begrudgingly acknowledged Sean's trump cards in silence. Her hands were tied, especially considering that she was, to a great extent, an outsider to Isaac and Sean's affair. Looking at her partner, she gently rubbed his back and asked, "Isaac, what should we do? We can just leave, if you want to... I'm not sure if we should take his offer or not and I definitely hate this guy."
