Ariella Taraman
The Infirmary

The night was long after the chopper flew Ariella, Cru, Sky, and the unconscious Noah back to Castle. Cru and Sky were getting told off by Nau at the moment for leaving them by themselves and Ariella was sitting next to Noah's infirmary bed, tapping her thumbs together in between her legs. If she would have been faster... Letting out a sigh, she sat back in the chair, gripping the armrests. Tilting her head to the side, she looked curiously over at Noah, who was fast asleep in the bed.

There was a soft knock at the door and Ariella looked up to see Cru and Sky both standing there. She nodded to them and Cru stated, "You should probably get some rest upstairs..." His voice was soft.

"I'm fine."

"Ariella..."

"I said I'm fine. I'm not leaving him," she snapped. Sky shook his head and backed out of the doorway, while Cru stayed a moment longer before disappearing as well. She sighed, leaning her head back in her chair. She shut her eyes for what she thought was going to be for a brief moment before she realized she was sound asleep.

She awoke to Noah's voice, telling her to go upstairs and sleep. But after she opened her eyes, she saw that he was still asleep, a smile gracing his face. She felt a hand on her shoulder and she saw one of his nurses. "Go, child. We'll take good care of him." She nodded and stood up, gently tracing her fingertips over the back of his arm before heading to the elevator. She made it up to her room, walked in, sat down on the bed, and was immediately out.

Archer Trey Andrews and Gideon James Carlyle

The Training Grounds ~ Camp Half-Blood

Gideon rubbed the back of his neck with a towel as he and Archer put away their weapons before walking back out onto the training grounds. "The was a little harsh, wasn't it?" Gideon said, rubbing his shoulder after tossing the towel to the side. There was a hole in the strap of the armor now and it was beginning to tear. He pulled it up over his head and tossed it to the side. He cringed when he heard it hit some of the weapons and the familiar metal clang echoed through the grounds. Archer cocked an eyebrow at him before shaking his head with exasperation.

"What? What was harsh?" he asked, his voice filled with amusement.

"Shooting me through the strap. You ruined a perfectly good set of armor," Gideon said, his voice sounding a little bit whiny. Archer just rolled his eyes and strapped his crossbow across his chest again after he took over his armor. He heard the sound of horse hooves and he looked up to see a brunetteish blonde girl approaching on a horse. She was headed straight for them. Gideon was still looking down at the armor and fixing things, so Archer smacked him. "What?" he snapped, finally looking up, but he saw the horse straight away, so there was no need for explanation.

The girl did not get off the horse. Instead, her intense glare fell upon him. Gideon crossed his arms across his chest, waiting for her to speak, as she had approached them, which must meant that she needed something from them. “Gideon Carlyle I assume- my name is Aella Lorraine Stedford... daughter of Mars.”

Gideon narrowed his eyes. "You would assume correctly. That is a..." The horse blew air at him and he wrinkled up his nose. "...lovely horse." He eyed the new girl. "So you're my new half-sister..." Archer, who was entranced by the girl's beauty, cleared his throat and smacked Gideon again with a cough to go along with it. "What?!" Gideon snapped again. Archer made a motion with his hands for Gideon to introduce him to his sister. Rolling his eyes, Gideon said, "Rrrriiiiggghhhttt... Aella, this is Archer Andrews, my best friend and son of Athena. I take it you don't know where you are going and need our help to find the stables and the cabin?"

"Way to sound blunt and uninviting," Archer muttered to him. He smiled up at Aella. "Sorry about him. They barely told him anything about you, so he's a little upset."

Gideon stared at him in surprise. "Fuck off, Scamp. Anyways, Aella, we can take you the stables and then head back to the cabin for you to get settled." He began heading toward the stables, not saying another word. Archer just shook his head and looked back up at Aella, gesturing for her to follow him politely.

Emerald Dosen Armsted
The Iris Cabin, The Stables ~ Camp Half-Blood

"Aquina!" Em hissed, looking for the small wolf pup that she could hear the scrabbling of, but not actually see. Her long dark hair fell in front of her face as she peered underneath the bed. The dark gray wolf was no where to be seen. Sucking in her cheeks, she sat back on her bed, sitting criss-cross on the bed. Tapping the side of her cheek with her lips pursed, she looked to the side and saw a piece of bacon from this morning's breakfast on a plate on her vanity table. She grinned and grabbed it. Just the same, she grabbed an old shoelace and a tree branch that she had grabbed this morning on her walk.

Tying the shoelace to the top of the branch and then tying the other end to the bacon, she threw the bacon out into the middle of the floor. Adjusting herself to where she was laying on her stomach and was out over the bed, she made sure she kept her eyes on the bacon. She waited for a few minutes. Then a few more. Right as her arms were starting to become numb, a small pointed nose poked out from underneath the bed. A small dark gray and brown wolf pup began crawling forward on her stomach. Her tongue licked the air like a snake, as if she could taste the bacon in the air.

The pup pounced on the bacon and Em pushed herself off the bed and pounced on the pup. There was a small yip before there was suddenly a wriggling pup now in Em's arms. Em giggled, holding Aquina close to her chest and rocking her back and forth. Dust puffed off her fur, causing Em to sneeze.

"I think you cleaned underneath my bed, you daft dog," Em said with a laugh. She stroked the pup's stomach, who looked up at her with big, puppy dog eyes. Em rolled her eyes and, with the dog still in her arms, walked toward the entrance to the cabin. "I know you don't like the stables at times, but you can run around while I check on some of the pegasi. They can't go for very long without light and rainbows, you know." She winked at the pup, who just looked at her with confusion on her face. Em rolled her eyes and walked out the cabin.

It was beautiful outside. It was almost the perfect summer day, minus a few clouds here and there in the sky. She saw Claire Bellerose, a good friend of hers, riding around the camp on her beautiful horse. She smiled and waved to blonde, but she seemed not to see her. Em shrugged and walked forward a bit more, her bare feet brushing over the ground. Aquina struggled in her arms and finally giving in, Em set the rambunctious pup down on the ground. Taking off like a shot, she immediately sprinted toward the lake.

"Aquina!" Em yelled and the dog slide to a stop, turning back. She pointed her finger toward the stables. Aquina, ears and tail now lowered, trotted unhappily in the direction of the stables. "We'll go to the lake afterwards if we have time." Em followed behind the disheartened pup, but the wolf wasn't sad for long. A butterfly came out of nowhere and landed on her nose, and then flew off. Aquina found solace in chasing the beautiful creature toward the stables. Em giggled and followed but she walked inside the stables instead of going around it.

She headed toward the back of the stables, where the pegasi were in their stables. She smiled as she stood outside the stall of a little foal that had yet to get their wings. She smiled at it and the foal nickered at her. Focusing her energy, her skin illuminated and she reached out and touched the foals bare nose. A shimmering and glittering rainbow flew down the pegasus's back and they whinnied, shaking from the shock.

“I’m sorry to interrupt you, and your equine friend.” A voice came from nearby and she turned, tucking a strand of black hair behind her ear. A very handsome and broad gentleman stood before her, someone that she had never seen before. She smiled politely as he continued. “I’m lost and I seem to be Lang.”

Em raised an eyebrow. "Did you mean 'I'm Lang and I seem to be lost'?" She covered her mouth with her hand as she giggled. Holding out her hand for him to shake, she said, "I'm Emerald, but everyone calls me Em. I can show you around, unless you seem to actually be Lang." She giggled again as she began walking out of the stables, expecting him to follow. "That's a wonderful accent. Where are you from?"

~Personal Information~

Personality: Laina, with her somewhat sweet appearance, has been called a bitch more times in her life than by her actual first name. She is a Grade A bad girl, though her appearance would say otherwise. She has a very hard shell on the outside, never really opening up to anyone emotionally. She does not care what other people think and tries to avoid debates at all costs, as she has a temper problem. She isn't afraid to pick a fight, thanks to her Ares side of the family. She has anger management issues, but she is still working on it. She is a natural born leader and always strives to do her best and make the best out of any situation that she can, normally turning it back around to make her look good.

Because of her intimidating nature and her ability to get what she wants, she has attracted many friends, and many enemies. She is loyal to those that fight with her and she goes hard against those that go against her. No matter what type of friend any of hers are, whether they are close or just a mere acquaintance, she tries to protect them as much as she can. She is slightly overprotective of her friends, which in turn makes her a bit paranoid when it comes to different things. Thanks to her powers as well, she has become more and more paranoid over the years with herself, trying avoid hurting those close to her, which has then driven most away.

Underneath her hard shell, Laina is very insecure about herself. She worries constantly about hurting friends or family and she tries so hard to keep up appearances that it is mentally draining for her. She is always worrying about how she is never good enough, for her father or for anyone else for that matter.

Skills: Being the granddaughter of a formal martial arts instructor, Laina is in very good shape. She can run for miles on end without getting tired, though she never does it. She can climb buildings and do parkour a lot better than most kids her age, since she started training in martial arts when she was younger. She is more skilled on land than she is in water. She is a decent sculptor and races motorcycles and cars almost all the time.

Biography:
Laina's father was original from Taiwan, but he moved to London a few years before Laina was born for work. He loved it so much that he remained there. He met Eris in Italy, while she was under human guise, and she recognized him as the son of an Ares child. Out of spite toward the God, Eris slept with the man, getting pregnant and thus producing Laina. It was a petty thing, giving another child to Ares's name, but Eris never thought that far ahead. She just wanted to cause some mischief, as usual.

Laina's father took her back to England to raise her by himself, feeling foolish and used after realizing Eris's plan and how he knew about her heritage. He kept her name quiet and from Elaina out of spite to the elderly goddess. Eris had actually tried to contact Laina when she was younger, but her father cut her off before she had the chance. Soon she stopped and everything seemed normal for the little girl.

Laina went to an all girl private school in Kindergarten through eighth grade. She was one of the brightest in her class, but she was bullied a lot for it. Her father, being a busy man, did not spend much time with her to help her through it, so she began to grow the shell. It mainly started around her sixth year, which was when she began to slowly develop her powers. She didn't really notice it at first. People would begin to pick fights with her more often after she touched them and electronics would sometimes spark and die when she touched them.

She fully discovered her powers in high school. She went to a public school, a completely new experience for her, and the bullying became worse. As it did, her shell grew harder and her powers became more prominent. People began noticing, but she became a legend as well, as, with the Ares side of her family, she would always win the fights. She figured out her powers beginning of her sophomore year, after a phone full on combusts in her hand and nearly blinded her. She went to her father for explanations, and he spilled everything to her, including his father's heritage, which was Ares.

Now, she does not head for Camp Half Blood right away. Instead, she heads to Italy, where her mother was last seen in order to see if she can help her control her powers better.

~Demigod Information~

Demigod Abilities:

  • Explosive Manipulation- Whenever Laina comes into contact with an inanimate object of any size or kind, it mysteriously combusts. The atoms on the insides just seem to break down and it blows up. The thing is, though, is it happens with skin to skin contact with Laina. The explosive damage or area also depends on her emotions at the time. If she is angry, the explosion will be bigger than if she was happy or sad. She could be considered to be a living bomb detonation device.
  • "Black" Aura- Laina emits an energy around her, something that comes from her aura, that causes everyone around her to begin fighting automatically, no matter what the person is doing at the time. People immediately become negative and mean around her. This happens, however, when she touches them as well, but it doesn't matter if it is skin to skin or not. She could touch someone with a gloved hand and it would still cause strife. Once she gets at least a hundred yards away is when the person seems to go back to normal.

Ariella Taraman
The Outlands

"Shit, fucking damn!" Ariella swore loudly, scrambling to grab her gun again. She raised it, firing off two shots at the Scorpo Anomalous that stood over Noah's dizzied body. The force knocked it back, slamming it leathally against a nearby tree. Ariella stared in shock, not moving for two moments before scrabbling over to Noah, gently touching his side. The needle had been the size of a normal knife. There was a long gash in his side.

Panic filling her stomach and throat, she pressed her hands to it, getting pressure on it. She took deep breaths and said, "You'll be okay. You'll be fine." Keeping one hand pressed to it, she flipped out the communicator and pressed the button. The screen immediately lit up and she saw two dots on it, moving toward a red X, which is what she was assuming was her location. She flipped it shut and said, "There's someone coming. Don't worry." She was worrying, though, because those dots had been fairly far off. Any Anomalous could come at any time...

There was a rustling nearby again, and she immediately drew her gun again, taking her hand off Noah's side. She whipped around, her eyes wild. This was nothing like the simulations. In the simulations, the worst anyone got was a twisted ankle or a sprained wrist. This had blood and poison and actual pain. Her hands shook immensely, and she whipped around, looking for the intruder nearby. Those two dots were too far off to be here now. She turned rapidly, almost firing off her gun by accident.

She looked back over at Noah and froze. He was still, not dead as she could see his chest rising and falling, but there was an eerie purplish-blue glow around him. She could hear quiet murmuring and she raised her pistol, looking around near him. Slowly, a young woman, barely younger or older than Ariella, began to appear before her. Ariella was so amazed that she slowly lowered her pistol. The woman, her eyes shut and concentrating, was the one murmuring and she had her hands in the purplish-blue glow around Noah.

Remembering what lies out here and this woman is obviously different, Ariella jumped back into action and raised her pistol. "Who are you?! Stop!" The woman ignored her. Instead, she opened her eyes and sat back on her heels, looking down at Noah. Ariella looked down as well, and saw that Noah looked a little more... peaceful. She looked back up and saw that the woman was now standing. She looked down at Noah for another brief second, looked at Ariella, winked, and suddenly disappeared.

Ariella stared at where the woman had disappeared. Was it just her imagination or had that actually happened? Blinking slowly, she gently touched Noah's arm, and found that he was less tense than he had been before. Taking a deep, shaking breath, she sat back down, keeping her pistol out for protection, until the Guards arrived.

Ariella Taraman
The Outlands

The Outlands were amazingly different from behind the Gate and Wall. She was busy admiring all of the trees at the distance when Cru and Sky said that they were splitting off. Her mouth could barely form the word, "What?!" before they were already running off to the west. Her eyes were wide as she saw the disappear over the thousand foot span between the wall and the forest. Peering around, they were all alone. The other groups that came out on a midnight tour had taken off away from the two new Guards, leaving them to fend for themselves, for a lack of a better phrase.

Noah began walking forward and Ariella immediately followed him, having to take bigger steps to remain even with him. They were walking over the span of the thousand feet to get to the edge of the forest. “Ari, what’re you thinking right now? Because I’m thinking this is…” She cocked an eyebrow. Only her friends really called her Ari... Everyone else refered to her as Ariella or Ella. She had to admit, though, she didn't mind it all that much. She smiled softly toward the ground as he finished his sentence, glad for the mask around her face so he couldn't see her smile. He continued on to say how the Outlands were something. She had to agree. She had never been out here before. She had only seen glimpses in run through simulations.

"I'll agree to that," she murmured quietly, almost to herself. She peered around as they approached the forest. In the dark of the night, everything seemed to be moving inside of it. She could see some flashes in the distance from laser guns and the force of the sight forced her to draw her own, new pistol. Her hands were shaking slightly, and she kept a tight grip on her handle, making sure that her shaking wasn't noticeable. She took the point, moving slightly ahead of Noah, but making sure that she remained close to him.

"It's a lot quieter than I thought," she said, out loud. She looked around the darkness surrounding them. Taking a small breath, she stepped into the darkness of the forest. Almost immediately after her foot touched the ground, there was a rustling in the trees above them. She jerked the pistol up, looking into the trees above them. "This is fucking bullshit that Cru and Sky left us on our own," she growled, fear driving it out of her rather than actual anger.

Everything surrounding them went quiet once again and she proceeded forward once more. Her tennis shoes were almost silent on the fallen branches and leaves around them. They walked for a good twenty or so minutes before another rustle came above her. She jerked up again, staring into the trees. "It would be easier to see if we had flashlights," she said. She dropped her gun again, keeping an eye on the upper level of the trees."

She dropped her gaze turning to Noah. "We should probably head east, since Cru and Sky went west," she said, pointing east as she did so. "If we don't find any from there, we head north until a half an hour left, then head back to the Gate. Hopefully after that we'll finally stay together." As she was talking, she took no notice of the dark, slim, scorpion tail like shadown that descended behind her, glistening with poison...

Ariella Taraman
The Gate; The Outlands

Ariella noticed all of the looks from the people around them and just shook her head, as they made their way back inside. They were all in the room. They saw who the partners were. They honestly should have recognized what was going on. She was blushing, slightly, as he had his hand on her lower back. Once they got into the elevators, she adjusted slightly so she was farther away from him and he was no longer touching her back. The ride up was awkward and silent until he apologized for having his shirt open and it being hot outside. She just nodded silently, staring at the doors, waiting for them to open.

When the doors finally did open, after what seemed like an hour which was probably only a few moments, she stalked out first, heading to her room. Hers was the first closest to the elevator. She thought it was fairly funny, as in an emergency, she would be the first one on call from this floor, as she was closest to the elevator. She swung into her room, tossing the Guard gear onto the bed, and immediately stripped down. She tossed her beautiful dress onto the bed and grabbed the compression shorts that were in the package. The shorts had no room for underwear, so she just went commando and pulled them on. She pulled on a sports bra ad slipped the skin tight blue shirt on over her head, sliding her arms into the long sleeves. Once she got it situated tight, she pulled up her hood and touched a button on the side. A metal mask snapped over her nose and mouth. This would allow her to breathe easier with the run from back behind the gate out into the Outlands.

She slipped into some broken in tennis shoes and immediately walked back out, the whole changing ordeal only taking her a few minutes. Waiting another minute for Noah, she nodded to him when he walked out. She didn't look for too long, but when she turned away to press the button, she mouthed Wow! to herself. She had never noticed how good he looked before, and with the uniform being so tight fitting, it outlined almost every one of his muscles. Her eyes slightly widened, she made her way into the elevator and the doors shut once more.

The elevator was silent, yet again, on the way down, but once they opened, a bunch of drunken, slurring Guards made their way in, forcing Ariella and Noah to slide out around them without touching them. Shaking her head, Ariella led the way down the hallway to where Cru, Nau, and Sky were all waiting. Sky and Cru were still decked out in their uniforms, and Nau now had a communicator in his hands. He looked up as the two new Guards approached.

"Good. You two are here," he said. Pulling out another communicator, he handed one to both Noah and Ariella. "Take these. If you ever get separated, you can just pressed that red button on the side and it will alert someone to your position. They will help you out. Now you must leave. It's a fifteen minute run to the Gate, and you guys have twenty minutes to midnight."

"Yes sir," Ariella said and both Sky and Cru drew up their hoods, tapping the button to have their masks go around their faces. They both took off out the door, and Ariella and Noah followed behind them. They ran, nonstop, for the full fifteen minutes, until the large, looming, dark gate appeared in front of them. Cru and Sky did not say anything. Instead, they stopped and waited, looking at the Gate. Ariella looked at it closely. She had only seen it from a distance before, never up close. It was a lot more... intimidating up close.

She took a deep breath and looked over at Noah. "Six hours in the Outlands..." she said aloud, looking for some form of reactions, but not getting any. She sighed and turned back forward, but right then, there was a loud chiming coming from a nearby tower, and the large gate immediately began to open. Cru and Sky, with no warning, sprinted forward, heading out into the Outlands. Noah and Ariella exchanged a glance before they too both sprinted out after them. Two minutes was a short amount of time, by the time they got to the Gate running, it was already closely.

Cru and Sky were already out, and Ariella had to slide to get the rest of the way out. She was panting, hard, and she kneeled over, her hands on her knees. She didn't know it would be that hard. With the extra help from the mask, however, she was standing up right again, her chest heaving up and down only a little bit. She looked around. So this was the Outlands...
