Not necessarily. The old version of the function had very many lines, which meant lots of complication (and there was a lot of complication). So much, in fact, that I could hardly understand what was happening to make the list of steps. So I made a new step-making function which was simple and concise. For example:

The old version needed an entire function to specify that an item was the last item in a tree and had no recipe. All I do is, in one line, add a third value to the array that holds the count of the item and the name of the item that says "hey, this is the bottom of the tree". Then I'm going to use this value in an if statement in another function to say "hey, since this is the bottom of the tree, it should go in "find this" instead of "make this"".

Assuming most of us are still interested in participating in this that is...Anyway, I think I should make an announcement now, and that's that Kira has responded to the PM I sent her a couple of days ago. She asked me if I could take the roleplay from her (I guess she got busy with other things), and I agreed, so I guess I'll be the GM around here from now on. First order of business:I always wanted to use that :p. But no seriously, first order of business will be to swap out the current people supposedly going on a quest with people who are still active. Last time I checked, Whizz, Jangel, SomeoneSomewere, and Kaithas were still around, but I need to know who actually is still around to make a new team. Second thing:You never got a response. Accepted, so long as you can assure us that the whole "turn sounds into physical things" won't be too OP.

So I finished writing new code in my website that'll create all the steps needed for an item and put that into an array. The old function was hard to understand, so I'm going to replace it with this one when I'm done with all the new code, and I can build up from there. I'll be using some of the functions from the old website, but I'll have my own new versions of some others. I have accomplished what the old website did with at least a hundred lines of code, with about thirty.

The response speed of the firing mechanism was acceptable, stopping the attacking automatons in their tracks before they could reach it to do damage. The only thing that he and the designers had apparently overlooked was giving the barrel the ability to move up and down, and Seth mentally smacked himself for not thinking of such a thing. The ability for it to do that would allow it to target threats a lot better, especially those that came from above or tried to avoid damage by creeping across the ground.Still... his magic had compensated for that, so his initial ignorance of the machine's faultiness didn't bother him as much as it would have. Seth looked at the automaton that had been struck by the magic, letting out a small chuckle as he noticed that the brass metal it was made of was beginning to deteriorate. The energy that powered the thing also seemed to be taking on a new... "sickly" color if it could be described like that. Reaching his arm out to it, Seth pulled out the residual dark magic that was affecting it and absorbed it."Humidity detector? I hadn't thought of that, but it is a reasonable idea," Seth said after Nevea suggested for this to be added.As of now, Seth couldn't really think of anything else that could be added to the designs. If everything went well, all that would be left was to begin creating the ice-crystal structures along the camp's borders and wait for the Hephaestus kids to place the final design of the firing machines into them. And after that was done with... what else? The complete defenses would be reliable and efficient in protecting the camp from monsters, so would they really have to worry too much? Sure, maybe a few dumb monsters would make it through, but the demigod defenses nearby would eliminate them quickly. He'd just have to wait.

Nevea noticed the power of the automaton changing, but made nothing of it for the time being. She was running through ideas as to how they would implement the barrel moving up and down. It would hopefully be easy to implement; although she and Seth would have to change how they made the constructs, and be more precise up higher. Other than that it would be fine.

When Seth began to speak, she frowned. "Humidity detector? I meant a detector for the height of a threat, but that's also a good idea. The construct could already detect the humidity and make the shards slower, but the machinery could not. Good idea." The Hephestans nodded when she was finished, and she made a mental list of the things the designers would need to implement: a mechanism to move the barrel up and down, a humidity detector, and a height detector.

"So, we'll need to design something to move the barrel up and down, and a humidity and height detector. Seth and I can surely design the constructs themselves around the mechanisms you create. While some of you do that, the others can run more tests." She wondered where to go from there. Once they finished, she would of course use it to boost her reputation, and then there was the usual manipulation and scheming. Maybe something new would show up again. It was nice to have something fresh to do. She hadn't felt that for a while.

The stealing of the Golden Fleece. That was fresh. Maybe it would lead to more. More that was fresh, more to have a part in.
