If you look at laughter on surface level, yeah, but I feel that if you look at it on a deeper scale, it becomes more significant. Laughter isn't restricted to happiness, but the internal laughter that allows you to manage life without losing yourself. Plus, a large purpose of the Element of Laughter was that the bearer caused people to laugh. It's the Element of being selfless, and uplifting others even when they're down.

Joy includes that. When I say Laughter doesn't cut it, I mean that it's only a part of what it could be. Joy is that and so much more. The Joy in our heart may sometimes be Laughter, but sometimes it shouldn't be. Sometimes what we need isn't Laughter. Joy is for all the time, Joy is for all things. Laughter isn't. But it has so many important things too that are part of Joy. The Elements were never about themselves. They were made for others. Loyalty to others, Honesty with others, Generosity to others, Kindness to others, Joy for others. Spreading the essence of friendship. Joy is that Element of uplifting and edifying.

Laughter doesn't hold as much real meaning as joy does. Joy is more than happiness, more than Laughter. Joy is that emotion of uplifting no matter what. Joy isn't always Laughter. Laughter just doesn't cut it. Pinkie and the people who wrote the book didn't understand that, but Smee will.

I will. It's too perfect to pass up. Also the Element of Laughter will eventually be shown to be actually named the Element of Joy. Pinkie's lines, roughly: "Aaactually, it's not the Element of Laughter! Gasp! It's really called the Element of Joy, but when the ponies were writing the book a thoooousand years ago, they thought that Joy was super uncatchy and so they did Laughter instead!"

Gilda: "... Does it really matter?"

Also, I figured out what Gilda's true name should be. Why do I need a true name? All the other names where she lives are long, like her sister's, Pienïlla Sïvïlla. I thought her name should have something to do with "gilded". Today I decided it would mean Gilded Beauty, and that in Swedish is actually, with an amazing coincidence, Förgyllda Skönhet. :D

It is. They're adding to the law when it was made to be perfect forever, but only in fullness. We as Christians don't need to reinterpret the Bible for the modern times, because in its fullness it is perfect forever. Every situation, no matter how futuristic.
