WORK IN PROGRESS

(15 unused cultural affinity points)
Warmongerers / Military Production: 6
Scientists / Research Income: 8
Theologians / Faith Income: 1

Race Name: The Librarians
Name of Faction: The Empire of Knowledge
Government Structure: Hierachy

Race Biology: They have a strange atmosphere that they can breath in, made up of a strange, yet easily created gas. This gas is produced by plants on their planet, and is essentially so radioactive that it'd make a man pass out with a single breath, and probably kill him in an hour or two. They eat both plants and animals, and both hunt and farm them. Whether or not they were like this because of a war or a natural reason is unknown. They also work on a scale similar to my Valkian nation- they work 6 sun cycles, and sleep one, work 6, sleep 1, etc.
THE QUEEN CASTE: These are the ones that rule; they are the final form, and make important decisions. All Queens are linked telepathically across space.

THE LIBRARIAN CASTE: These are the middle forms, and do not number very high, though certainly more than Queens. These are scientists, researchers, designers, etc., the ones that think. They also act as lieutenants to the Queen, to carry out decisions or make their own to gain the goal given by a Queen.

THE WORKER CASTE: These are the most numerous, long-lived forms, and are the ones that reproduce, work, fight, and are religious. In religion, they simply believe that all Queens are descendants of the Gods, and carry out the Gods' wishes believing that, despite knowing that any one of them may become a Queen, they are doing the chores of a God.
Cultural History:
Social Structure: The Queens stay in their own fortresses/palaces, and there is currently THREE on the home planet, guarded by automated defenses and Librarians. These Palaces are often known as "Palaces of Knowledge," for they are all scientists, and these palaces are like a giant library for everything they've every known. Every story, every find, every mineral, everything that has ever been known is all kept in the Palaces. Each Palace has EVERYTHING known; the Palaces are structures that rise high into the sky, and even deeper into the ground to accomodate. Librarians live in and around these areas, or 'Local Knowledge Centers' where Workers can bring their discoveries and the like to submit to an area library, which has all its information and data collected sent to the Palaces. Workers are the primary population, doing everything from growing and hunting food on their industrialized planet, to manufacturing goods and supplies and building everything according to the Librarians' blueprints. Celebrations are erratic and are not set in stone; when there are great harvests, regardless of the time of year, there might be a three suncycle warning before the celebrations begin.
Reaction to Aliens: Strange new creatures! What are these?! What secrets do they hold?! WE MUST STUDY THEM! Go, we must explore everything, how they live, how they work, EVERYTHING!

Having never seen a starry sky, write a first hand account of your race's explorer's reaction to seeing the densely packed vastness near the galactic core upon passing through the gate:
Time for shield-point-defense clusters for all ships...
Give me a bit for a post; felt a bit ill for the past hour, stomach banished me to the bathroom for a while.
....
Really?
"I've got a lot of weapons for pretty much any kind of situation, I've got some good armor, it could be better but it's good for the moment, and we have great shields, so that while we spin circles around your ship, we won't take any damage."

...

Really duck?
You're saying your advantages are speed, weapons, semi-armor, and shields?

My ships are all great and big; none of them could be stealthy. They've got rigid tactics, because they don't have any reason to make any others, and they're technological level is quite narrow.

And here you are, saying you're either average or above average at everything but tactics and intelligence gathering.

My... skepticism has grown. Tremendously.
I know, Duck. A lot of things that shouldn't be the same thing are the same thing to you.

For example, superior and magic are the same thing, to you. Everyone else just recognizes magic as a very versatile energy form.

Stealth fighters aren't really a specialty unit within the Eternal Union. Regular fighters have been replaced by them, with heavy fighters being more of a specialty unit.

I hope you realize that a 'stealth fighter' isn't supposed to be an invisible fighter, but simply one that can't be targeted very easily, has very, very low heat signatures, and is practically undetectable by general radar.

Hey man, I don't expect every unit to be listed and detailed, but I feel specific specialty units need to be at least mentioned.

This is what I mean. I don't mean everything listed, but prominent stuff, like those fancy supermagesoldiers or your ships that you'll primarily be using.

Here, I'll even go first with my most prominent ships:

Explorer-class Dreadnought
Only seven of these have been built, and will remain built, until one falls or total war is required.
Specialty: Armor
-The Armor is of latest grade, advanced type, and far thicker than what anyone would usually put on their ships. No shields, but the armor makes up for that. Armor can rearrange itself by a system of arms, tracks, and tractor beams to cover up or remove damaged plates of armor.

Weapons: Swarmer Missiles, The Sentience Bane, Particle Laser Cannon [The +1 means there is an extra that can replace a damaged one]
[x6] Swarmer Missile Turrets, to fire a load of up to 100 missiles that split apart into a small anti-armor and a small high explosive warhead, for use on debris or small enemies, or for collective damaging on a larger target. Four are equidistant around the circumference halfway down the ship, and two are stationed near the rear to protect engines. Rear turrets are rarely fired in combat, and have a much smaller ammunition reserve than the other turrets.
[x2+1] Particle Laser Cannons, stationed on the front of the ship to fire at anything in a 200 degree radius. The two lasers often scissor their target, in a default attempt to cut a ship in half. Powerful, but limited in use.
[x1] The Sentience Bane is a special superweapon of the Valkians, rarely used. It interferes with high-traffic brainwaves, and will slowly destroy organic data. Anything that is living and has a brain and nervous system will find itself mindless and empty. Only the very base instinct will remain. To temporarily disable someone, it must be fired for a straight 5 minutes. This causes damage, but can be reversed with time and technology. To completely kill a mind beyond repair will take up to 10 minutes. However, for as long as it must be fired, it must be charged the same amount. If it charges for only 7 minutes, it will only fire for 7 minutes. The weapon acts as a general-direction beam to the front of the ship. Anything within a certain distance inside the cone will be damaged. It has been used for mass genocide in the Valkians' backstory.

Varren-class Battlecruiser
While another nation's Battlecruiser may be the size of another Cruiser or smaller, a Valkian Battlecruiser is simply a somewhat smaller Dreadnought with more emphasis on weapons than armor. While still heavily armored, it has more weakspots, and is overall thinner and less protected.
Specialty: Long-range barrage, medium armor
- Has a total of 20 dual-barrel turrets, ten on the top, ten on the bottom. There are five on the top right side, five on the top left side, five on the bottom right side, and five on the bottom left side, all in a row down its length. Armor can shift, though not as much as the Explorer, and is heavy when compared to ships hat are shield-oriented.

Weapons: Swarmer Missiles, Bombardment Railguns
[x2] Swarmer Missile Turrets, one mounted in the middle of the railguns on the bottom, and another mounted in the middle on the top for full coverage.
[x20] Bombardment Railguns are dual-barreled turrets that use advanced rounds that can alter its course in transit. These rounds are, like Swarmer missiles, a mix of anti-armor and high explosive. While the rounds may not penetrate like another, it will cause damage, because the front will attempt to pierce armor, and the back will explode as it entires the pierced hole, and tear open a hole.
Also, what is everyone's specialty? The area that they excel in, which everyone else couldn't best in a fair, equal fight, for example, an Explorer Dreadnought with Valkian armor would be superior to the armor on another Dreadnought, while another Dreadnought, say Duck's, might be unmatched in variety of weapons, while say, Kyelin's Dreadnought would be unmatched in combat options, because he can instantly communicate or act as a defensive ship or etc.

We need to have a list of what we're good at, and what we're bad at, otherwise we'll all end up being OP or powergaming at one point or another. Now am I stupid, or right?
No need to say sorry; it's just what happens.
