enchanted weapons can work, but enchantments draw on the user's energy, or a pool of energy set into precious stones. So you could have a sword that lights on fire, but every time it's on fire, it'll be drawing on your strength to keep it lit, unless it has a ruby or sapphire or another gem in it that you have spent weeks or months putting energy in. Think a little bit along the lines of Eragon, and how that worked.

That implies that Sol has billions of untold system clones across the universe... to humans. For the Valkians, a solar system is just where there is a Star with at least some kind of satellite, whether it be two dozen planets, or just a single asteroid belt.
