I don't... only dislike it, I was just... disappointed with the result, especially so soon after I had finished watching the series and loved it. The movie would have a mixed review on my rotten tomato. I thought I could sense Whedon's excitement at the helm of a movie all of his own, at moments, so I reckon his fanboying was part of the downfall. There were, of course, scenes of goodness, but there were also striking "WTF is dis shite" that pulled me out of it. His stuff was usually better. But anyway, we're going to play in the 'verse. :D
Like when Wash died?
Oh, I really liked the movie before I saw the whole tv series. I even watched Serenity twice. Maybe thrice. And then I got onto the series, in order, and went on to the movie after, and holy Whedon, why, why did you fanfic it up, why. The quality of the tv is far superior to the movie. *stakes my camp* I guess there is the "But it's in a different format and had to include a newer audience!" argument. I guess.
I see your point- the TV series is a great deal better, by a wide margin. But I still like the movie (though for me, it's like a book- I can't watch it over and over too soon, otherwise the knowledge of what'll happen next will completely ruin it. This is how everything is save for Guardians of the Galaxy.)
Those are fine. As for currency, everything is pretty much given to you in the Tavern. Think of the Tavern as a place that rejuvenates the vitality and magic power of your character and you can restock on things you are missing. Currency... is kind of invalid, mostly because it is far more difficult to keep track of the amount of money you have and the prices of items as well as selling prices. So! I'm rewarding folks with Karma instead. As well as an increase in Class. These are the rewards I will provide for missions.
That makes a lot of sense in the context of the RP, but how is it explained as logical in the IC?
The people of the tavern and city won't accept anything but Karma, because all the currency was stolen from them in some long-ago war, and Karma is far harder to steal? idk. just one idea.
Hey, I like the movie. If it weren't for the movie, I'd never get into the Firefly universe- I wasn't really old enough to understand cartoons outside of the humor and the general idea- oh god bad stuff!- when Firefly came out/ended. A Serenity re-run got me hooked. I even have a big book that has all the scripts and extra notes and interviews of Firefly, the cast, and some of its items. It's called Firefly: A Celebration And I suspect we'll be going in a real junker of a ship in anyone elses' eyes. A complete and total guess, I assure you. I vote being the mechanic.
the potatoes welcome you
Name: Volt is his alias. His real one will probably known by no one, but is technically "Emil Emmerson" Age: 13 by years(Biologically, he ages at 3x the rate of a human until he's technically 30, and then he slows down to .5x the rate of a human until he dies, at an unknown age), technically 31.5 by biology. Gender: Male Race: [Engineered] Human [Weapon] Reason for joining the mission: Orders. Volt was a genetically-engineered specimen created from the embyro of a donator and the modification of a 3-dozen scientist team. He was the response to meeting the higher-agility Drow, to combat them on even or in-human-favor ground. He has had nothing but training and growing since his technical 'birth' thirteen years prior. He is an experiment and the second of his kind; the first being dead. Armor and equipment: His suit and appearance: His suit is specifically made to channel, support, and assist in the generation of energy. It projects a small shield around him that uses a variety of sensors around him to protect him from kinetic forces by only appearing when needed- so a laser would make contact with his armor for a moment, before the shields pop on and block it, while slower-moving weapons would be blocked before it made contact. A good way to preserve energy. His secondary weapons: Again, note that he was pretty much created to combat anything Drow or better than, so he's going to be using these like a master. Knives are made from a highly advanced, very expensive titanium-alloy metal, reinforced with a more decorative alloy that contains gold, and is essentially a very strong brass/bronze with better metals. His primary weapon: An energy rifle that only he can use. It requires a special electromagnetic footprint to fire, and only Volt would have the power to keep it charging without overheating. Made with similar alloys on the exterior that are used for the knife, so its length allows to it double as a makeshift staff in a pinch, and the inside using another advanced alloy to store, conduct, and channel energy within, in addition to electronics and mechanisms. Anything else: Volt has been genetically modified to have a brain far more powerful than any human being, for a simple purpose: Being an emmer. And emmer is someone who has such brainpower as to control, sense, and redirect electromagnetic energy. Essentially, he can fire bolts of lightning, create walls of it, set off explosions, and sense any living thing around it, as well as its brain activity (though reading it is like learning a new language on your own). His suit enhances his abilities, and provides several tiny reactors throughout, giving him the ability to create shields around himself, and fire bolts of lightning.
By the way, if anyone does anything to the Draconians let me know- the only one I'm really paying attention to is the Kibo-hosh war and the Abh-Drac contact. Lack of concentration, see.
One of you people should post and keep the posts from getting too terribly big. Write too much and it'll get to Advanced level, and discourage others.
Daed? Daed. Or maybe dead... nah.
This is dead. Yay.
