Bio

I have been writing since I was 17 years old. I am now 33 and I've been enjoying life. Writing is a passion just as reading is. My favorite genre is murder/mystery, but I love fantasy and I love action/adventure. I have published a collection of short stories that can be found on Apple Books, Barnes and Nobles, and Kindle. I have a trilogy in the works, the first part scheduled for release this year.

While Ambrose was in the shower, Caleb made sure everyone else was alright. Ariana, Jeremy and Alex were all sitting on a couch that was on the opposite end of the room. Caleb's room was pretty massive compared to others. It was part of the perks for being so close, almost like a son to the headmaster of the school. His room was a beautiful layout. It looked quite Victorian in style. He was quiet for a moment walking back and forth and waiting on some word from Sam. She had stayed behind to deal with the authorities and to try and clean up the scene to make it look more natural. Then again how do you make a mass murder look natural? Caleb really couldn't blame Ambrose for being upset with him or with the entire group. They were responsible for what had happened, but how? Caleb would have to research it but he was pretty sure that the spell Sam used wasn't a summoning spell, but more of an invocation ritual. He had to figure it out or he'd drive himself crazy if he didn't.

When Ambrose walked out of the shower, he strode over to Caleb with just a towel wrapped around him. Caleb blinked a few times. He wasn't expecting Ambrose's upper body to be so toned, but then again he was a good looking guy that Caleb still didn't know a lot about. He tried to smile as he stood up straight and walked over to his closet. It was a rather large closet full of clothes that Caleb got as gifts from his parents. Each section of the closet had specific items. There were jackets, tops, bottoms, tanks, PJs, and then a lot of shoes. In the middle of the closet was a large dresser with drawers on both sides. This held all of Caleb's underwear and socks, as well as more shirts and more pants.

"You can wear whatever you want," Caleb said with a sigh. He realized that Ambrose might be a little taken back by how large his room was and how massive his closet was, but when he arrived his parents had specific requests, and the headmaster wanted him to be comfortable even though Caleb never really embraced the 'rich' lifestyle. He paused and looked at Ambrose feeling the need to explain his room and closet to Ambrose. "Headmaster wanted me to have this room for whatever reason, but I don't complain, plus my parents try to spoil me even though I never embraced the rich lifestyle."

Caleb smiled at Ambrose and shrugged as he moved to leave Ambrose to choose. "I'm gonna check on the others," he said as he left the closet and moved to check on Jeremy, Ariana and Alex.

"You three okay?" Caleb asked upon returning. Alex just sat and stared at the floor not saying much while Ariana was still shaking slightly.

"I still can't believe it," she said, "how did we even cause this? What kind of summoning did we do?"

"I intend to find out," Caleb replied with a sigh as he sat on his bed. Just as he sat down Sam appeared covered in blood.

"It's done," she said looking at Caleb, then Alex, then Jeremy and Ariana.

"Wh...what's done?" Caleb asked.

"The authorities think it was a hit and run type of murder. I played the innocent victim who survived. I had to plant evidence on a fellow student and I had to lie and pretend that the student I planted evidence on was the killer and that I had to kill him to keep him from killing me. So far no one knows about you four being there, and I would like to keep it that way," Samantha said as she turned and made her way to Caleb's door.

"This secret stays between us, but whatever we summoned we will have to banish. I'm going to my room to get this off of me. Get some rest and we'll talk later," Sam said.

Caleb was shocked by what he was hearing and he didn't know Sam had it in her. He knew she was conniving, but this level of expertise far surpassed what he thought she was capable of. He sighed and nodded to her as she left his room.

"Jeremy, Alex, Ariana, you're all free to stay here, you pretty much know where everything is," Caleb said as he looked at Ambrose, "I, I don't know what to say about all of this. All I wanted was to have fun with you and to show you a good time and look what happens."
Caleb was still pacing back and forth trying to figure out what to do next. He had never experienced anything like that. The feeling of a weight pressing down on his chest right before the murders, that was a feeling he didn't want to experience again. He mentally cursed at himself for even going along with the ritual. Who knows what the hell they summoned.

"FUCK!" he yelled punching the nearby wall and leaving a sizeable dent. He looked down at his hand and noticed that his knuckles were starting to bruise from the collision with the wall. Sighing, he looked over at Ambrose who seemed out of it. He was shaking slightly and Caleb couldn't blame him after what he saw. He hurried over to him. "Ambrose, Ambrose look at me," he began trying to usher Ambrose over to his bed, "I don't want you going back to your dorm tonight, you can stay here, I'll sleep on the floor and you can have my bed, everything is going to be fine," he said as calmly as he could.

It was then that he noticed Ambrose holding his hand. "Can I see?" he asked before taking Ambrose's hand and examining it. "Shit," he added noticing how deep Ambrose had cut himself during the ritual. "It's amazing you didn't pass out from this."

Caleb walked into his bathroom and gathered supplies and when he returned he had first aid tape and medical gauze. He also had alcohol, peroxide and a few other items. He didn't know why he was so caring towards Ambrose. He couldn't explain the feeling. He had just met Ambrose and yet it felt right to be around him. He felt good to be close to him, and the feeling scared the shit out of him. He didn't want to go down the road of relationships again, but he couldn't help it. It was amazing, he didn't know a single thing about Ambrose, they had only just hung out and look how bad things ended up. Still, as he helped Ambrose sit down on his bed, he wondered what Sam was doing.

Caleb cleaned Ambrose's wound as gently as possible, he made sure that there were no blood stains on his hand anymore. He bandaged it, wrapped it and taped it before eyeing his handy work. "That should work," he said before looking up at Ambrose, "I'm sorry for all of this, I should've just gotten us out of there when I didn't feel right," he self-blamed. "If you want you can take a shower, I have some clothes you can wear though they'll be a bit baggy on you."

Caleb's eyebrow arched as he watched Ambrose follow behind Samantha's trail as she made her way to the basement door. He even turned and asked if he was coming to which Caleb smirked and nodded. Catching up with Ambrose he walked with his side by side until they came to the door.

"After you," he said to Ambrose waiting for the guy to move down behind Samantha who was still rolling her eyes.

"Promise me you two won't get all datey when we get down here," Sam shouted back at them causing Caleb to blush slightly. He didn't response but continued to walk until they made it to the basement. The room was bare, having only five pillows in a circle and what looked to be candles, matches, and chalk in the middle of the circle. There was also a chalice of sorts which meant there was a blade somewhere.

As they entered the room, Caleb could see two other people, one of which he remembered was the guy Samantha had taken upstairs. He had a big grin on his face as Samantha walked up to him and ran a thumb across his lips. Caleb smirked and shook his head. The things she could so were both scary and amazing.

"Alright each of you takes a spot," Samantha said as Caleb's eyes fell on another girl. He didn't know her, but she seemed to know him. She waved gently and he returned the wave but didn't speak. "Loverboys, you two sit across from each other," she added motioning to Ambrose and Caleb. Caleb knelt down just as the other two knelt down. Sam knelt down and wait for Ambrose to follow suit before she smiled. "We all know how to summon aside from one of us, but he's a quick learner so give him some credit." She lit the candle with a snap of her finger and placed the chalice over the fire before continuing. "Repeat after me, Dicimus pientissimam contentionem tu autem deam ubertatem, cum essentia imple nos!" She spoke each word slowly so that everyone would understand. "It basically means We summon you, goddess of fertility, fill us with your essence!" Sam looked at Ambrose and winked playfully. "Now let us begin."

A knife appeared in front of each of them and Caleb glared at Sam.

"Whoa Sam I don't know about this," he said as she gave him a look.

"It's okay Caleb, it's safe, I tried it out with a few people over the summer."

Caleb eyed the blade for a moment before reaching down and grabbing it cautiously.

"Alright, take the blade and cut your finger and allow a drop or two of your blood to fall into the chalice."

She waited for everyone to do it, Caleb hesitated but did it and sighed as he placed the knife back on the floor.

"Good, now let's repeat the spell THREE times."

There was silence before Samantha began chanting. Caleb had joined in with her after the other two had already started. He was looking at Ambrose the entire time hoping that he was okay with everything that was happening. Truth be told he wasn't really comfortable with what was happening, but he was too intoxicated to walk away. There was a moment when the energy in the room heightened and the lights flashed violently before going out completed. Caleb gasped and looked around, the room completely black.

"Ambrose, Ambrose are you okay?" he asked before the lights turned back on and Sam looked at Caleb with a worried look on her face.

"Okay, that was new," she said realizing the spell didn't work as the flame on the candle had gone out. Caleb stood to his feet.

"Okay were out of here, let's go," Caleb said speaking to everyone in the room. He walked over to Ambrose and grabbed his hand as if they were dating and pulled him towards the door. It was strange as they neared the top of the stairs, the music had stopped. Caleb slowly approached the door and opened it. He peered out and saw no one there. "What the hell," he said softly as he moved into the hall moving down the hallway and entering into the main area. As he rounded the corner, he immediately turned around and nearly threw up when he saw the scene before him. Bodies. Bloody bodies littered the floor. Caleb could hear whimpering and moved over towards the bar area where the whimpering was coming from. He saw Alex and knelt down. He was muttering something incoherent until Caleb looked in his eyes.

"Alex, Alex what happened?" Caleb questioned as Alex continued to shake.

"The the the there was some some something big," he stuttered, "it it it it killed everyone, told me it wanted me to wa wa wa watch," Alex finished looking at Caleb with fear filled eyes. "It slit everyone's throat man, EVERYONE, and spared me. Told me I would be last, but when the lights came back on it vanished."

Caleb looked over at Sam and shook his head. "We have to get out of here, come on."

Sam had a terrified look on her face but she placed a hand on her hip and nodded in Caleb's direction. "Get everyone who is left out of here, I'll call this in. It's best if you all aren't here when the police get here."

Caleb looked at Sam in disbelief, but he didn't question her. "Come on Alex, let's get out of here," he said looking over at the boy and girl that had joined them downstairs.

"Ambrose, Ambrose let's go please," Caleb said as he approached him to make sure he was okay before he started maneuvering his hands. First Alex vanished, then the boy and the girl, and finally Ambrose and Caleb vanished reappearing in his room.

"SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?" he said pacing back and forth trying to make sense of what had happened.

Caleb was catching his breath sitting down with his shirt slung over his shoulder. He smiled up at Ambrose as he heard him talk. Despite everything, he knew this party was what he needed, and it looked to be what Ambrose had needed as well to start the year off right. He felt Ambrose slump down next to him and looked around the room as everyone seemed to relax, and so chill. They were in a euphoric state that Caleb was familiar with, and many relished. He tried to stay away from drugs, but he did enjoy a drink every now and then and this party was his chance to indulge. Ambrose was speaking, informing him that he really didn't do what Caleb did, the partying and all of that was Caleb's world and not his.

It was respectable to see someone have fun even when they normally wouldn't on a day to day basis. Ambrose was the type of guy he would love to date, someone who was down to Earth and someone who would keep him level headed and grounded. The idea crossed his mind, but he shook his head remembering he did promise himself he wouldn't get into any type of relationship and that he would focus on his school work. Still, Ambrose was hard to ignore, very hard, almost impossible and when he was in this very flirtatious state he was impossible to ignore. Then Caleb felt someone touch him and at first, he didn't want to believe it was Ambrose because of the hesitations Ambrose had earlier before the alcohol, but when he turned his head and looked into Ambrose's eyes he knew where things were going and yet he didn't want to stop it.

Ambrose had his finger in Caleb's hair and Caleb smirked, but as he looked into Ambrose's eyes he could see the male leaning forward and parting his lips. Was this really about to happen? Caleb reciprocated the act and leaned forward as well meeting Ambrose halfway, as their lips pressed together slightly. Ambrose's lips were soft, yet had some firmness to them. Caleb let his inhibitions go as they kissed, allowing his hand to pull Ambrose slightly closer to deepen the kiss slightly. It was only when he heard a familiar voice that he broke the kiss and look up at Sam who was standing there tapping her feet, clearing her throat roughly.

"Mmhmmm," she made the accusing noise, her eyes boring into both of them, accusing them of what they had just done. "Well, loverboys it seems the party has peaked, so we have a little game to play. I got two other people, but we need two more. So come on you two, let's get to the basement," Sam said as she shook her head at Caleb and strutted off.

Caleb ran a hand over his face and cleared his throat before standing up. "Fucking ay man," he said as he exhaled and looked at Ambrose, "you alright?" he asked. He was asking if Ambrose was alright with the kiss, and he wanted to make sure Ambrose was okay with going to the basement. All the while Caleb slowly pulled his shirt on, a few of the students lingering around eying his body, undressing him even more than he already was with their eyes. He paid them no attention but gave Ambrose his sole attention.

Oh dear heavens, where is everyone? Why is no one posting? Where is the steam when we first began? Why did it die down?
Caleb was enjoying the closeness between him and Ambrose. He was enjoying the dancing, the feeling excitement, the thrill of not knowing what would happen next. It all appealed to him and it drove him to keep dancing and having fun. He was smiling as Ambrose threaded a hand through his hair causing him to tilt his head back revealing his prominent Adam's apple. He could feel Ambrose's breath on his skin and pleasure waves shot through his nerves causing him to smirk as he watched Ambrose with new eyes. He was more than what Caleb initially thought. Give the guy a few drinks and he was the life of the party. Still, Caleb wanted to know more about Ambrose, what made him tick, what his favorite food was, what his favorite music was. He wanted to know more about him and yet he was nervous to ask. Imagine him, the sex symbol of BlackBrick too nervous to ask a guy out and get to know him.

In this moment, his will to push dating away was out of the window. As the dancing continued, he kept up with Ambrose, allowing their bodies to touch and move to the rhythm. Suddenly, Ambrose stopped dancing and Caleb looked up to see a taller male wanting to dance with him. While flattered, Caleb really didn't want to just abandon Ambrose to dance with a random stranger. He sighed and smiled at the guy.

"Thanks for the offer," he said as he moved closer to Ambrose. He reached out, grabbing Ambrose by the waist and pulling him in close. "...but I'm with him," Caleb added with a smirk as he grabbed Ambrose's hand hopefully tugging him along with him to a private area so they could talk. When he reached a pretty isolated area, only a few people standing around, he sat down and exhaled feeling the alcohol hit him once more. "That was amazing," he said to Ambrose with a smile, "why didn't you let me know you were such a great dancer?" He slowly pulled the shirt out of his back pocket and threw it onto his shoulder for the time being.

@Catmint
After his third drink Caleb was feeling it. The music was pounding and yet he was still a tad bit coherent and managed to hold conversation well, though as he observed Ambrose he could see that the male was feeling the effects of the alcohol as well. He managed to stand upright instead of leaning against the counter and laughed when Ambrose asked Alex what Sam had told him. He even leaned forward and narrowed his eyes which caused Caleb to burst into laughter. Yep, he was drunk, that proved it. He would have a hangover from hell tomorrow, but at that moment it was going on 10:30 and the party was just getting started in his opinion.

What happened next surprised even Alex who had noticed the change in Ambrose from first seeing him until now after having a few drinks. He was bold to grab Caleb and tug him onto the dance floor, and Caleb was shocked at this action, but he let Ambrose tug him along like a little toy until they hit the dance floor. It was then that Ambrose really showed him what he could do and he was amazed. He watched him, matching his rhythm with his own, their bodies close, the heat causing Caleb to sweat slightly. Smirking, he continued to dance with Ambrose, but he did something that he hoped Ambrose wouldn't shy away from. He snatched off his shirt to relieve some of the built up heat and tucked the shirt into his back pocket allowing it to hang loosely. This also caused his pants to sag slightly, revealing more of his underwear band.

Alex observed from a far and shook his head when Caleb took his shirt off.

"Anything to show off huh Caleb?" He said, but the music drowned out his voice. He laughed wondering how this night would end with Ambrose and Caleb.

@Catmint
Caleb watched Ambrose as he took the cup with caution. He seemed to eye it for a bit before taking a sip of it. A laugh escaped Caleb's lips as he watched Ambrose react to the strength of the drink. His comment caused Caleb to chuckle even more as he took another sip of his own drink, finishing it with a few gulps. It was around that time that Ambrose finished his drink and asked for another. Caleb's eyebrow raised in surprise, but he didn't judge, he even asked for another as Alex shook his head. Within minutes two more drinks were placed in front of them and Alex just looked at them both with a smirk.

"Enjoy," he said causing Caleb to glare.

"Look, whatever you're thinking don't," Caleb said as Alex threw up both hands as if surrendering.

"Whatever floats your boat man, Sam told me.....," Alex began.

"Wait, what did Sam tell you this time?" Caleb interjects as he gulped down the drink in a few long swallows.

"Nothing man, just be careful with those," Alex replied referring to the drink that Caleb had just down rather quickly. The feeling of inebriation started to slowly wash over Caleb, but he remained coherent and smiled at Alex who had started fixing him another one. "But you're a big boy so have at it," Alex added as Caleb exhaled and looked at Ambrose.

"Let me know when you're ready to dance," Caleb said to Ambrose with a wink as he smiled his adorable smile. There were others at the party dancing, eyeing him from across the room, but he had ignored them. He wanted to show Ambrose a good time, and Ambrose had his full attention, but he still wanted to know what Sam had told Alex.

@Catmint
I'm waiting on replies from my fellow teammates......
The atmosphere was buzzing with life. There was music playing, people dancing and alcohol being distributed like it was candy. Everyone was just enjoying each other's company and it felt great. Classes would be starting the next day and this was everyone's way of enjoying the last bit of summer they had left. Caleb was proud that he hadn't taken a single drink since arriving. While he didn't have a drinking problem, he made sure to stay away from any intense drugs. As he pulled Ambrose towards the dance floor, Ambrose tensed up and anchored in, not wanting to participate without a few drinks first. Caleb smiled and released Ambrose's hand, moving over to him like a provocative predator as he stood behind Ambrose whispering in his ear. The closeness was intense, and Caleb had moved so close his lips had nearly touched Ambrose's ear.

"Let's get a drink then, and then you can show me your moves," Caleb spoke into Ambrose's ear as he moved towards Alex who was handing someone a green drink. Caleb walked up hoping that Ambrose had followed him.

"What's up Caleb," Alex said the two exchanging a brotherly handshake before slapping each other's hands and doing some sort of arm maneuver that looked akin to placing one's forehead into the bend of their elbow. They shared a laugh while Alex started mixing different alcohols for a pleasant taste.

"So who's the new guy?" Alex asked.

"Alex this is Ambrose," Caleb replied smirking as Alex gave Ambrose a once over. "Ambrose you know Alex, he's the best when it comes to drinks. Ambrose is a friend, he's cool Alex," Caleb added, "just nothing too strong."

Alex groaned and nearly rolled his eyes as he handed them both a rather rosy pink drink. Caleb took his in his hand and took a sip. It was fruity, the alcohol hiding behind the taste. "Wait a minute, how much alcohol is in this?" Caleb asked feeling a buzz after one sip.

"Just know one of those will get you in the mood faster than anything else, so drink up boys," Alex said with a smirk. Caleb eyed the drink for a moment but knew Alex wouldn't give them something that would kill them. He took another sip and smiled. It was really good.

"So you feeling alright?" Caleb asked Ambrose returning his attention to him. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Samantha heading upstairs with the guy she was speaking to outside. Caleb made a mental note and shook his head taking another sip of the cocktail.
