Bio
I have been writing since I was 17 years old. I am now 33 and I've been enjoying life. Writing is a passion just as reading is. My favorite genre is murder/mystery, but I love fantasy and I love action/adventure. I have published a collection of short stories that can be found on Apple Books, Barnes and Nobles, and Kindle. I have a trilogy in the works, the first part scheduled for release this year.
"Master, he's not coming back. Why do you obsess over someone who left you so many years ago?"
"It wasn't his choice. He had to leave. If the Yuheng Sect would have stayed out of it, he would still be here. It is because of them that he's gone and I want them to pay. Can you do that? Can you make them pay?"
A man dressed in a long black trench coat with raven black hair down to the middle of his back smiled and cracked his knuckles.
"This will be fun. I will bring an end to the Yuheng Sect, one by one," the man said.
"Good, now go, I have to plan for his arrival. Soon, soon my love you will return and we will be together."
A man with black hair dressed in an expensive robe with the crest of their sect present on the right chest caressed a drawn image of Yuri. His eyes were as soft and blue as the ocean, but behind those eyes held a history no one dared to visit.
"Master Huong, there is word of his presence. Someone saw him fighting alongside a female water specialist, a machine of some sort, and a young man from the Yuheng Sect. Your orders?"
"Finally," Huong said standing to his feet, "at long last, I have found you, my love. The Yuheng Sect will pay for pushing you away from me, and when they are gone we can live together, forever."

Earth - Coral City: Gas Station
Yuri fluttered around Gou and Luna when they stopped at the gas station to wait for Gou to retrieve his garments. Yuri gave the young man some privacy as he clothed himself, but fluttering in the breeze was refreshing and allowed him to regain any strength he'd lost. It took far less energy as a moth to move than in his true form and he enjoyed the look of bewilderment whenever he landed on someone's shoulder or a photographer who just so happened to snap a photo of him resting on a flower. His patterns were beautiful and crisp and somewhat ethereal. Luna Moths were already a beautiful species of moth, but Yuri enhanced the beauty in his Luna Moth form.
Yuri transformed back into normal form, only this time he was wearing beautiful garments that flowed in the wind, and he carries a lovely fan, but the Monarch Blade stay affixed to his back. His hair was longer, and pure white touching the top of his buttocks. His eyes were beautiful pools of seafoam green and could ensnare even the more secure of souls. It was like watching the ocean crash against the shore. Beautiful butterfly earrings adorned his ears and seemed to move as if alive. He looked completely out of this world. His garbs were a soft green, with accents of eggplant purple on the trim and around the waist and the tips of his sleeves.
"This is my normal look, my more casual garment. Come, let us enjoy a, what is it called? Slurpee?"
Yuri was always amazed by the power his boyfriend displayed. In truth, Remy was so much more powerful than he imagined, he just needed to push himself to believe in his own inner power. Yuri tried to let him know at every chance that he was incredible and he wondered if Remy heard him or just brushed it off as a compliment from someone who liked him, a lot. Yuri continued to hold Remy even when the students were trying to figure out the best course of action with handling Madame Muir. Sure, they could leave, but the wards that protected the institute were of high level and the sentinels that guarded the place weren't pushovers. Still, Yuri could handle it. He knew the secrets and the ways around it to get them out, but if he got them out then they would need to push and move quickly. When he displayed his power, it was noticeable, it could be felt, and it would surely alert Madame Muir.
He softly spoke in Remy's ear.
"Are you alright?"
He wanted to make sure Remy was okay first. Using emotion-based abilities could drain the caster, and that was the reason he kept a warm comforting hold on Remy. Another reason was too explicit to mention, but he did enjoy the closeness and scent of the man in his arms. The way his muscles tensed when touched in certain places. Yuri quickly snapped back to reality and sighed as he looked at Emelia and Lithy.
"I'll do it. I'll create a path for us to get out. We all need to stay focused. Understood? Once we are at Black Hill Top we can set into motion making allies and figuring out how to deal with your mom Emelia."
Yuri rested his chin lovingly on Remy's shoulder and interlaced his fingers with Remy's.
"Don't overexert yourself, babe. As much as I'd love to carry you, I don't want you to hurt yourself. Besides, we can revisit those chains and whips later if you want."
Yuri frowned at the mention of their guardian being reduced to nothing more than a pet. How dare she even speak of him. He was the reason they all got together and defended the world from evil. He was like a big brother to Yuri, and possibly the others. Scheherazade was a friend, and Yuri would protect his friends with everything he had. This new girl did not cause him to fear as Scheherazade seemed to. He wasn't afraid of what she was capable of, nor was he opposed to fighting her to keep the world safe. She had launched the initial attack on his friends and like any friend would do he would fight back.
"Darkeepers you say? Seems rather weak to ambush and not fight head on, but alas that is what your kind is known for, HIDING in the shadows like loose lip wanna-be predators waiting for something you'll never get."
Yuri didn't have a chance to say more as the flash of blinding light from Merlin's staff filled the area. Yuri had acknowledged her want for him to create a portal and he had created the mini-portal in his hands, but by the time he'd done it, Ayaka was under attack. This would be a challenge, as was every fight to protect the light, but he would never back down, he would never quit.
Scheherazade, I still say you worry for nothing.
Yuri had already begun calculating ways to get them out of this situation. His grip never wained from his staff, and when the Scorpion girl reared back to kick Ayaka in the head, the staff acted on its own to protect Merlin from harm. Even though he was still learning his powers, there was one he had tapped into before that would surely land them victory, but the feeling afterwards was something he didn't want to experience again. He'd felt dark, almost sinister to a degree, but the power had protected him which confused him even more. Still, now was the time for action and not running. If the Darkeepers wanted a fight, then it was a fight they'd get.
Yuri's senses picked up on the Scorpion girl's tail which resembled a serrated long whip with a pointy tip. He would need to be careful not to be impaled by it.
"Where she's going is no concern of yours, and quite frankly that visor clashes with the rest of your eyesore of an outfit. It makes you look chubby and unpleasant. Now, get away from my friend," Yuri said as one of the crystal luna moths began to glow.
The Scorpion Girls kick would crash into a barrier sending the same energy back into her body. At the same time, the small portal had transformed into 3 butterflies. 2 purple butterflies and 1 blue butterfly. He slapped one of the purple butterflies onto Merlin's back. The purple butterfly would fuse with her, if only temporarily, but she would feel an increase in her powers and abilities and senses. The other two butterflies fluttered protectively around Yuri as the Scorpion Girl's tail flicked through the air towards him. Beautiful blue light filled the first floor as the serrated tail smashed against the wings of the blue butterfly that covered Yuri sending him rocketing through the wall behind him.
In shock by the power of their opponent's tail, he quickly got to his feet as the blue butterfly unwrapped its wings from around him and positioned on his shoulder while the purple butterfly fluttered around angrily.
Yuri had heard the news that the Supreme's daughter wanted to talk to him and from what he'd heard nearly all the students at the school. He wasn't one to complain, but a little insight would have been nice. He's come to the Institute about 9 years ago and had learned how to control his abilities. He was the "prodigy" as they called it. The one student who could do things well, and some may say he was somehow the Supreme's favorite, but everyone knew the Supreme loved her daughter most of all. When he first came to the Institute, he didn't speak, merely diving headfirst into learning and honing his skills. During his spare time, he learned how to defend himself without the use of magic. He trained his body, his mind, and his spirit. Day in and day out he would wake up, get through his classes, train at a gym, and visit his aunt, a very powerful voodoo practitioner who ensured he was protected while attending the Institute.
His first encounter with Madame Muir was nothing more than pleasant. It was like this all throughout his life of learning and she seemed to adore him. There were times when he'd ask her a question and she would pinch his cheeks and tell him that the greatest power is the power within oneself. Now in his early 20s, he recalled how much he'd grown from an 11-year-old boy to a very handsome, very popular young man. To say that Yuri wanted for anything was a lie. Yuri had inherited millions when his mother died and he turned 18, and even so his father doesn't let him spend a dime. His father is an extremely wealthy man and powerful voodoo master who lives in Haiti but has houses in New Orleans and South Korea. Currently, Yuri's father travels for business but has a sister who watches over Yuri.
Yuri arrived in the lavish dining room in the form of a luna moth that fluttered in and landed on a fellow student's shoulder. This student, Remy, was Yuri's boyfriend, or at least he hoped. They were in the beginning stages and he loved spending time with him. To say that he was overprotective was an understatement. Anyone who dared say anything about Remy got a fist to the nose or a hex that took them weeks to get rid of. Remy often times would tell him to calm down and to control his emotions, and he would listen until someone would push too far. Transforming into his normal form, Yuri wrapped his arms lovingly around Remy from behind and softly kissed his neck and cheek before sighing as he listened to Emelia speak on the contents of the book she held in her hands.
It was all a lot to take in, and Yuri found himself questioning how they were going to make it out of this against someone so powerful. Their Supreme had power that could rival a deity, but she was weakening as time went on and this was her way of trying to keep her power at the level she had reached. They were no match for her in their current state. They needed to learn how to protect themselves against such potent magic that the Supreme, Madame Muir, possessed. Yuri rubbed Remy's arm to keep him calm because he didn't want Remy to be scared by the news they were all receiving.
"We'll figure out something babe," Yuri said, his New Orleans accent heavy.
Looking up, he listened to Lithy, someone he'd bumped heads with a lot at the Institute, but never denied her prowess when it came to her knowledge and he oftentimes told her in private that he admired her knowledge. Still, they had a Tom and Jerry type of relationship. She was right in what she said about the Black Hill. It wouldn't protect them.
"Sorry to be that person, but how do we know you're to be trusted Emelia? This is a lot to take in and I'm not trying to upset anyone, but in all the years I've known Madame Muir, to say that she's capable of something like this is crazy."
Yuri paused and sighed.
"But, she has been slipping as of late and she does seem off a bit the last few years. I have to agree with Lithy. We need to find a proper place to help us get stronger and protect us from her and her magic. Maybe I can reach the Pantheon about this, but the next full moon is a couple of days away."
Name: Yuri Hyunjin Paris Sex: Male Age: 22 Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity: Bisexual/Cis-Male Relationship: He's in the beginning stages of a relationship with Remington Darius McClure, aka Remy and cares about him a lot since they started "talking". Appearance:
Yuri is Blasian. He is half Asian, half African, and grew up in New Orleans. His father is Creole and his mother Korean. He speaks English, Korean, Swahili, and some Spanish. His mother has a lineage as an Asian Witch and his father delved into African Spirituality and Voodoo. Arcana and Voodoo run in Yuri's blood. He's a descendant of Marie Laveau.
> Spiritual Senses: Yuri's eyes can see the soul/spirit of the living and the dead. He can locate someone by their spirit/soul. > Impartation: A unique gift, the power to impart (bestow) temporary life into something lifeless or bestow life back into what was once dead. This is dangerous. Small creatures will cause his nose to bleed and dizziness; however, if he brings back the soul of someone who has died he will pass out and it will completely drain his mana. He will feel completely drained for a few days. > Spiritual Connection: Connecting to the spirit realm is easy for Yuri, and communicating with spirits trapped on the plane of the living is something that comes naturally to him. He helps guide lost souls to their final resting place; however, he also has the ability to trap souls in this plane and control them, twist them into something dark and sinister or fill them with light and benevolence. > Teleportation: Yuri is able to teleport various distances as long as he can see the destination. > Voodoo: Quite literally, Yuri descends from the greatest, and possibly most powerful, voodoo queen that ever existed. Yuri's bloodline contains great power and as such he is a practitioner of the art and knows how to tap into the power. Yuri is a walking voodoo doll. Wounds heal quickly. Anyone who he sets his focus on can become a victim to his power. Any damage taken by Yuri is bestowed upon a chosen target as long as Yuri maintains eye contact. The greater the damage, the more draining to his spiritual energy, and if he doesn't have enough spiritual energy, the wound created will stay. He can also channel the power of voodoo in which the iris of his eyes turns white. Voodoo dolls, hexes, etc are all at his exposal. > Necromancy: Necromancy gives Yuri authority over death, those who have died, and those things void of life. His command is unwavering and unobjectionable. What he commands of them, they obey. It allows him to use necrotic energy that decays whatever it touches. > One w/ Water: Yuri can create, shape, and manipulate water, inorganic compound with liquid, gas (steam, water vapor), and solid (ice) states, including changing them from one state to others. > Arcana Within - Yuri is able to tap into the raw arcane power that flows throughout the universe. Very few warlocks/witches/mages can do this, as it is a very rare gift. The immense vein of magic grants him unbelievable power and allows him to channel it into various forms. This allows him to take the form of beautiful insects, the Luna Moth being his favorite, and grant him abilities against wards, spells, hexes, etc but he has a deep understanding of the magical world and how to use the primal arcane power to enhance his abilities. Whenever he uses his power, he is like a beacon to those seeking his energy. This gift comes from his mother's side. > Descendant of a God: On his father's side he descends from the greatest voodoo queen in history, but on his mother's side, he is a descendant of a deity, Gameunjang-aegi, the goddess of luck and fate. In his veins runs the power of fate, the divine power. He does not know how to wield this power or knows that it exists, but it is immensely straining on his body and grants him power beyond mortal belief until he passes out from the strain.
Every witch/warlock is taught spells at a young age if they are a part of a coven. Yuri learned from his mother before she died the usual common spells like moving things from place to place, levitating, fixing what's broken, etc; however, there are more immense, deadlier spells that require more, and those he learned through in-depth study. Yuri is still learning, as there is so much to learn. Spells, hexes, etc, take a toll on the body, mind, and spirit. Spells are available in Grimoires that most casters possess, but for intense spells, a list is compiled...
Summoning --NEUTRAL-- - Cerberus Come Forth: A blood offering is required to bring forth the demon dog, guard of hell's gates, Cerberus. The three-headed beast is immune to fire and immensely strong. Control over the beast takes great focus. The caster must speak the incantation, "Hell's gates will miss its guardian, bring forth the one who guards it." - The Undead Army: It takes either one very powerful voodoo master or at least four voodoo priests with one leading to summon an army of undead. In size, we are talking an entire graveyard size army. While summoning the army of undead, the voodoo priest is absent from the battlefield and is usually held up in a secret place because, during the ceremony, he is completely vulnerable to anyone who is able to locate him. It requires a great deal of concentration and because of this, voodoo priests go into a trance-like state. They can be knocked out of this state if someone powerful enough causes a magical surge that breaks the connection and severs the ties. - Summoning a God: (Summoning Deities require a contract with said Deity) - Marassa Jumeaux: Summoning this deity brings forth twins, three twins, who will protect Yuri and someone he chooses from harm. They will grant Yuri divine power but can only be maintained for 15 minutes. The twins will not allow any magic to harm Yuri and if there are any hexes or negative spells on Yuri, they are rebounded back to the original caster times three. -Damballa: Summoning this deity will cause any nearby dark spirits/souls and negative energy to instantly convert into positive energy. Dark spirits and souls caught in the presence of Damballa are quickly washed in beautiful light and become whole again. Demons cannot be in the presence of Damballa for they are banished or die. Damballa enhances Yuri's powers to near god-like levels but only for a short time, a max of 20 minutes. Damballa can only be summoned once, and if summoned twice, the caster's life force is drained. - The Great Serpent: Yuri can summon an Imoogi that will protect him at all cost. Over the years, Yuri has summoned the creature to build an unbreakable relationship. The creature can channel three elements. Water, Lightning, and Fire. When summoned a thunderstorm appears. The Immogi will obey only Yuri and will protect him at all cost. If killed, it will return to its plane of existence, but it cannot be permanently destroyed or reborn. Yuri discovered that the Immogi's name is Saiph. The beast is about 100 meters long.
Protection --DEFENSIVE-- - Heaven's Wings: A simple spell that allows Yuri to protect someone from negative influences. The spell must be spoken and the target or something belonging to the target must be in the caster's possession for the protection spell to work. When activated, the spell will surround the target in a protective barrier that extends a foot out from them and prevents harm. Speaking the words " - Death's Hand: A very powerful spell that only lasts for one hour. It requires a blood sacrifice and the energy of three voodoo priests/priestesses to work. The blood of the target must be poured into the middle of the voodoo circle. The three voodoo priest/priestesses must chant the necessary words and the victim will be protected from death for ONE hour. Because of the potency of this spell, it cannot be repeated on the same person more than twice. - Monarch's Blessing: By touching someone and speaking the words "Liber Spiritus" the target's abilities will be enhanced for a short duration. The caster cannot bestow this enhancement on themselves, only on someone else. It does not require any sacrifice, merely mana to cast. - Celestial Entanglement: By calling to the gods and deities in the pantheon, the caster can draw from them celestial protection on a person of their choice, but it comes with a price. The caster must fulfill a request from the deity they illicit the prayer to and be willing and able to do what needs to be done.
Magistrate --OFFENSIVE-- - Shadow Master: Moving like smoke, creating shadows at a whim, this particular spell grants the user the ability to leap through shadows and use a miasma like smoke to cloak and/or decimate an opponent as the miasma is toxic that is produced. No spell need be spoken, but an understanding of the magic need be knowledgable to the caster. - Energy Spells: The caster can utilize a form of magic that involves energy, ranging from pure raw energy to more exotic types of energy, allowing for harnessing their magical energies and/or mystical control of their aspects. With this casters will be able to perform a variety of magical spells and feats that manipulate energy. - The Power of Physical Force: The caster can create, shape, and manipulate physical forces, including gravity, kinetic energy, tension, pressure, friction, thrust, lift, drag, inertia, torque, g-forces, magnetism, acceleration, mass, weight, etc., Newton's Third Law, changing the direction of either of the two forces or making a magnitude of one stronger or lower than the other. - The Beauty of Sound: The caster is able to perform a legendary form of magic that allows the caster to cast magical spells and feats through manipulating sound itself to a certain degree. The caster can create, shape, and manipulate sound, a periodic disturbance of a medium (air, ground, water, etc) that radiates outward linearly in the form of a pressure wave. The effect of these waves upon the ear is perceived as sound. From the point of view of physics, the sound is considered to be the waves of vibratory motion themselves, whether or not they are heard by the human ear. The caster can mimic, intensify, hush, and distort, as well warp, strengthen, echo, speed up, and slow down sound, using it as a powerful physical force and high-speed movement. At low frequencies, sound can be potentially fatal to living beings by causing internal damage, while high frequencies cannot be heard by normal humans but can be used for sonar-like effects. Since sound vibrations can travel through the air, ground, water, and any form of medium, defense by using physical barriers are difficult. The vibrations can also affect at a molecular level. - The Prison of Reflections: The caster can create, shape, and manipulate reflections, by controlling and/or using mirrors and/or reflecting surfaces that can be used to reflect/redirect attacks. Casters can turn the reflections into real objects/beings, turn mirrors and reflections into prisons, storage-places or dimensions of their own use, manipulate space inside reflections, and so on.
