The plot thickened as Azrael realizes he truly was eavesdropping on a private conversation. He grew flustered and felt rather guilty for breaking the privacy of people he'd thought to make friends of. The boy looked to and fro for an organic way of escape, but he could see none now that the group had thickened. More and more students had begun to talk and gather in the more open areas of the hall such as this one. Azrael would have to bull his way through the crowd and that would bring attention to himself. These two seemed very sensitive to moods and his would be like being caught red-handed stealing an egg from the nest. Azrael would have to calm himself before making his exit, but that meant possibly over hearing something he shouldn't be privy to. "I wonder who is Ephilates and what Aura Manipulation is? It seems both are secrets that Apollo wants kept. And just like Agatha, I intend to keep it that way." Azrael promised silently. He'd have to come clean about his discovery, but now was not the best of times.

Taking a few steadying breaths, he felt as if he was finally ready to make his way towards one of the walls perhaps. The collecting body heat was starting to wear on Azrael's nerves and he saw two students engaged in conversation, both with sword hilts on their waists. Perhaps they heard lore of the Metal Spirit's blade and they could help Az? With such flimsy logic, he decided it was good enough and politely pushed and excused himself through the crowd until he came abreast of the two and slumped against the wall. One was Sol, the other Kieran, if the boy remembered correctly. He sighed in relief as the air was notably cooler here.
"So we have to prove ourselves in a competition to earn our rank in this school, interesting..." Azrael mulled over this new information as some of the last introductions were made. The last to introduce himself seemed like a serious student, Arcadius, and very powerful. His line seemed to be very prestigious as well. It seemed many of the students here had unique magic or talents. He hoped his connection with the Masters was enough to give him a good standing within the school. They had assured him that his gifts would only grow stronger as his contracts became a more integral part of him.

However his maximum strength's growth had slowed in the last year, leading him to wonder if his connection to mana would do the same. His training went as it always did and every day Azrael made progress, but it wasn't enough for the determined boy. He wanted more. There was still so much of his life locked away in his own mind. The Masters had found him without memory of his past and the last 6 years were the only thing Azrael knew of a life. Even his name had been given by the Elements in a ceremony of heavy beats and pulsing rhythms. They had told him that Arcana had once been the ancient name for all things magical. What that meant was a mystery to the boy, as much as his origins were.

None of that mattered as of now. He still had acquaintances to meet and Agatha and Apollo seemed like two of the most intuitive of the students. He'd attempt to integrate himself into their conversation next, but first... "You're right Aleksandra, my apologies." He gave her an apologetic dip of his head and started to make his way through the throng of students. When he was almost upon Agatha and Apollo, the mood of their conversation seemed tense and fairly intimate. Azrael was torn between introducing himself and upsetting Apollo further, or simply going back to his seat. Yet, who was this other boy Apollo was referring to? It seemed Agatha and Apollo were in an intimate conversation, just the two of them.
Just curious, is there history between certain characters? I know this is at least a remake of another thread of the same name, right?
Azrael is stuck in a stasis bubble, waiting for his hand to be shook or be attacked. The suspeeeensseee.

Azrael was slightly unnerved by the spectacle Chen had made of himself, why had he seemed in such pain? He positively jumped out of his own skin when Kenney had fired into the air. He'd never heard such a loud sound outside of thunder and the roar of a dragon! Once his heart had resumed its normal pace, he noticed Chen approaching him. Oddly enough, the boy's eyes seemed to be a different color as well. "What magic would do that?" Azrael thought to himself.

He stood when Chen stopped and said that he would enjoy fighting Azrael! What could make the students so hostile? The boy wasn't sure if the challenge was made in malice or competitive spirit so he answered. "Well yes, I did on request from my Masters and my own wishes... but why do we have to fight?.. Chen, right? I hope that we can be friends, since I see only strangers." Azrael took a step forward, bridging the gap between the two enough to offer his hand for a greeting. Commune with the Spirits had always taught him manners and respect, yet this boy made his hackles rise like a rabid mountain lion would. Chen thirsted for combat and Azrael could practically smell it. Yet, a want for confrontation meant he was sure of his abilities and therefore more powerful than the usual student. Az could learn from such a person.
Name: Krystoff Blackwell

Age: 17

Appearance:

Short bio: Krystoff lived in the New York State until his family was ravaged by a group of isolated werewolves. The only reason he survived is because of his father's quick thinking having bathed his son in the blood of their hounds to disguise his scent. In their rural community, superstition was very prevalent and Krystoff grew up with these beliefs as facts, unlike many big city children. After days of trekking through the woods, he stumbled upon his only other neighbor few miles. They promptly called the authorities and Krystoff ended up in the system and eventually the Blackwell house.

Weapons: Remingtion hunting rifle, MP5- black matte, a brace of silver throwing knives, a brace of wooden stakes.

Slayer Weapon: The Devil's Fang- supposedly ripped from the mouth of the Lord of Hell, Krystoff found the blade on one of the Blackwell's raids. It bonded to him and his thirst for vengeance. It cannot be destroyed by none other than its original owner. These details have been lost over time.

Everyone seemed to be very informal, moving about the room freely even though all of the students had yet to be introduced. Was this the level of discipline these students showed their institution? Azrael sighed, slightly disappointed. It seemed many held open contempt for those they thought to be weaker than themselves. His Masters had taught him that the measure of man was not how he treated his equals, but his subordinates. They had said a wise human had said this and they had thought it a pertinent lesson. It seemed many of the students' studies, while extensive in arcane study, was severely lacking in the philosophical. Out of those introduced, Azrael made a list. A few had very vibrant pools of energy, although they were obscure to the boy, further proving his own assumption that his education was sorely lacking.

Two students seemed to have taken a rather instant liking to each other, Agatha and Apollo. Chen and Slick seemed to be two sides of the same coin of confidence, while one seemed to have arrogance the other simply held a self-aware pride. Charles the shapeshifter seemed to be very shy, but not short on a want to be included. The last, Meruin, she seemed to be distinctly different than the others and similarly unaccustomed to life among the masses. Perhaps she would be the next that Azrael would talk to, for her mana held countless numbers of characteristics that he couldn't begin to unravel. "She must be very well educated... I might want to start a friendship with her, it would help immensely with my search for the Spirits." Azrael thought to himself. She might even help him find three of the most obscure of the Spirits: Metal, Time, and Void.
