In Depth Appearance:Slick stands at the average height of 5'9 and stays in top physical shape. He runs every morning for an hour, does at least a hundred sit-up and half that number of push-ups. He keeps his hair cut relatively short, but often lets it grow out slightly for that 'messy' look. His eyes are nearly the same color as his pupils, which tends to make the average person avoid direct eye contact. His hands are large. Slick tends to adopt a sort of relaxed slouch whenever he isn't on the move.
Clothing Style:Slick always wears a short brim, black fedora when not in class and often during, much to his teachers' frustration. He usually wears dark jeans with a slim fit, but has been known to don a pair of sharp slacks or two. He usually wears tailored button down shirts, rolled up to the elbow usually. His shoe wear consists of several Italian loafers, or black leather Converse high tops. When he runs, he wears old T-shirts, sleeves cut off crudely, black basketball shorts, and Adidas running shoes.
Tattoos | Scars | Markings:He has a few tattoos: one on his right shoulder that is the trinity in black ink with ivy and vines detailing the three rings, the second is a black Grimm near his heart, and the third is a sideways phrase along his forearm in typewriter Times New Roman spelling Semper Fidelis. The lettering faces Slick so he can always read it. His hands are an array of scars, some look to be made by tools, others through violent means. On his abdomen, slightly right from the center and starting above his navel, is a jagged scar that runs to his right hip.

Slick has always had a quick mouth with a short fuse. This got him into a lot of trouble, but also gave him the opportunity to learn his capabilities. Tending to deal with tragedy with a joke or quip, Slick internalizes a lot that he should talk about, but never does. He shows respect to everyone, until they wrong him. He has towering self-confidence and bravado, tending to bull his way through obstacles through will, wit, or skill. His intensely protective of his friends and will defend them to the death. Since he was young, Slick fended for himself, fortifying an already strong persona into an unwavering courage. He tends to be a shameless flirt, but uses humor to cover up awkward moments when he strikes out.
Background:Slick grew up looking after his younger sister, Magdalena and mother, Caitlyn, in Newark, New Jersey. He often got into scraps with the bullies of his neighborhood, never getting hit and earning the nickname 'Slick'. Yet, the street wasn't the only place he was beaten daily. His father, a construction worker, abused Slick whenever he was sober enough to stand. Slick often took the brunt of the abuse after noticing his mother's bruises.
One night, after slapping Maggie, Slick had had enough and pushed his father back. His father grew enraged and smashed the bottle he'd been drinking across the already dingy kitchen table. The boy was just turning eleven, on the cusp of coming into his magical powers. His father slashed at Slick, cutting his stomach open and still bearing down on the child. That's when Slick threw up his hands and wished his father would go away. With his eyes closed, not wanting to see his own blood, he heard a mighty crash.
When he opened his eyes, his father was lying on the floor, bleeding from a gaping wound in his neck. He'd been thrown against the table and maimed with the broken bottle he'd threatened his own son with. Slick knew that he had somehow done this and was horrified. When the letter from Hogwarts came, Slick threw it out himself, too distraught with the fact that he had indeed killed his own father. Soon after came letters from the Ministry, demanding his cooperation or face possible consequences for his illegal use of magic. They told him in no uncertain terms that it would be mandatory to learn at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the better to monitor him and keep the boy on the path of good magic. After much cajoling, his mother got young Slick to agree to attend Hogwarts, even though she was loathe to send her child so far away.
His family still lives in the same tenement building. He hopes to change as soon as he graduates from Hogwarts. Slick wants to give his family the very best, knowing he can provide it. His mother remarried five years ago, but Slick's step-father died in combat after two short years married, a true hero. In memory of the great man, the boy had the Marine's motto tattooed on his forearm.
