HCL 2: Twisted tinkers' triumph

The vampire lingers a moment before following Bug. It was so strange and surreal, how Bug could have such a loving family when he wasn't even their own. Both his father and mother, as he called them, were some kind of undead monsters themselves, and so unlike the self-aware nature spirit they had adopted. What had made them this way? Were they always loving beings?

Mithias smiled politely at Eurka, knowing she could tell nothing of his thoughts. "Families are all too rare these days." He said and then took advantage of the portal before it closed.

Back in Tsubaki's lab... or garage rather, Mithias recognized his friends. "Tsubaki. How long have we been gone? Are you able to get us to Drac now?"

Eruka's singing finally stops and Mithias shakes the fog off. "Ah. Adopted mother I take it." He rightly decided to keep any further comments about the strangeness of Bug's family to himself. "Well then. I'm Mithias, Mrs. Drac. We're trying to find your husband, and I believe we just received a solid lead." Mithias glances at Bug and points to his earpiece. "I can't say I recommend following us. It is going to be very dangerous, not to mention that we have to also save the universe when we get back. ... It's terrible what happened to Drac, but if we're to do anything about it, we need to get moving. Bug, do you have that portal again?"

His eyes met a witch directly behind him, and he gasped and raised his clawed hands instinctively to defend himself. Somehow, she had stealthed her way up close to him, too close. A chill ran up his back as he beheld this frog-like, undead and angry woman. Thinking she was the one who had attacked Drac, Mithias gritted his teeth and prepared for a fight.

Immediately, he swiped at her, finding only air with his claws. "Bug! I need you!" The sound of her magical song was already beginning to have an affect, slowing him down. Mithias shook his head. This was no time for naps! Thankfully, he saw Bug appear in the door behind her. "Your... mom?"

Mithias initially jumped when he heard a voice. It was Tsubaki. He heaved a sigh of relief, remembering the device in his ear. He wasn't sure if She could hear him, so he spoke mostly to himself as he turned away from the torn-up library, "I suppose I should get Bug next."

We're all been stuck off the site, as in, it hasn't been working for us either. I hope that has changed. Lightside looks fun.

"......" Bug walks forward, looking about at the shreaded guards, sighing. "Damn....I am going to need my tools. Mithias! Search this place over, search for clues, I'm going to see if I can patch up some of these guardsmen." Bug yells to his vampire friend, as he summons a clean medical bag, pulling out odd looking tools, glowing slightly, as one by one he starts to restructure the shattered, but not yet destroyed souls."Who ever did this.....I'm going to end them...." Bug growls.

The vampire nodded as Bug went to find his tools. "Of course." Mithias headed down the hall where there were several rooms. There was a library, a kitchen, bathroom, a living room, and a stairs. He furrowed his brow in frustration at his inability to detect anything other than the physically obvious. Mithias didn't have a knack for detecting auras, temporal disturbances, souls, magic, thoughts, or otherwise. He'd have to make the most of his unadulterated senses.

He first entered the library, where clearly things were out of place. Tables were turned and bookshelves were knocked over, and judging by the patterns of dust settlement, the disturbance was recent. Smell was useless, since everything smelled like death, and Mithias wasn't sure that this was abnormal. He looked for any signs of the fight: blood, burn marks, claw marks, quickly scribbled notes, whatever. What had Drac been up against? Was this the place where he had gone outside all multiverses?

"Yin, stop messing with the visitors..." Bug says, with a slight grin as the little girl, who looks reptilian in nature, laughs a bit, before floating at eye level with Mithias. "Sorry, I expected him to loose his shit." She giggles out."He would of destroyed you.." Bug warns."People can do that?" She asks."Yes, now, run along...." Bug says, with slight annoyance.With that short back and forth, the girl floats away, apparently scared of the vampire now. Soon, a singular house appears on the horizon, and Bug continues his small walk to it. "There's the homestead...." Bug says, and the home is instantly right before the two. "...." Bug walks forwards, and knocks on the door, expecting either drac, or Eruka to answer, if either of them are still there....

Mithias looked at the floating girl. She was childlike in her behavior as well as her appearance, but that was obviously her nature. She kept looking at him, hoping for some show of fear, until she heard Bug's reply. That seemed to truly scare her, and she floated back, cautious now, vanishing off into the darkness. Mithias looked away, focusing back on following his companion. It was true. He had serious power, even over undead, immortals, and apparently deities as well. He'd have to remember to keep himself humble. ... Didn't he just nearly die himself a few moments ago? Following Bug to the house, he spoke some of his musings while they waited for someone to open the door. "You know, I never did thank Mia. I don't know what happened, but I knew I was dying. I would have without her."

"Bug..." Mithias looks down at the girl, half expecting it to turn into a soul-stealing wraith. He gave Bug a look that asked whether or not this girl was an enemy.
