When it became apparent that their lasers weren't working and the assassin was taking apart any clone within reach of his blades, the few remaining had reached the same conclusion, run. Mithias was going to let them go, but just as everyone's backs were turned did one man out of the blue burst through the cut-open side of the ship in a crazy unarmed rush.
Mithias was cold, heartless, and very pessimistic about his welcome in any world he travelled to. This might have been the chaos ream and just another bloody unicorn to kill. He side stepped the charging human figure with his vampire's speed and slashed across Lucian's chest as he passed by him in a painful, punishing strike that wouldn't kill him, but would leave him severely wounded. As if that wasn't enough, Mithias spun in the opposite direction and slashed the left blade across Lucian's back as he went down, beating him down to the ground with the sharp edge. Eyes red, Mithias stepped around Lucian, seeing if he was still alive enough to speak. It was pretty clear Mithias had teleported into a war zone. He may as well figure out what the hell was going on. "Warrior." He began. "Who are you?"

Edited. Eclipse knows they are citizens, but they are still technically "prisoners" since they are chained. Also, he sees Kiyoki as a general of sorts, a champion of the emperor, a captain, a leader. "Herald" just referred to that, but I removed the word in case it was confusing.

Not far from where somebody was about to die by Daemonhammer, there was a clone ship lying on its side. This is the site that one Mithias Varomere ported, and his surprise arrival was not taken with any measure of restraint. The fighting began immediately, for as soon as he opened his eyes and stepped forth through the portal, several dozen clones looked to him as an enemy and fired their lasers.
Flinching instinctively, Mithias drew his blades and attacked. Limbs were severed, throats were cut, screams rang out the open hull, and blood poured down the exposed metal. Several clones turned and ran at the sight of this brutal assassin actually drinking the blood his victims and using their bodies as a shield. It was all over in less than a minute. The outworld vampire jumped down from the broken ship and surveyed with lighted red eyes the scene of what he would come to learn was planet, Tor 5. He was covered in clone blood, and the burns he had taken from the lasers were already healing. Due to his foreign nature to this world, Mithias was highly resistant to the native laser guns.
Mithias looked at his blades. "I am never going to get these cleaned." He began walking off in a direction...

But the vampire had also left the dimension in an irate flash. The rest of them were innocent, except for perhaps Albert, who seemed to have a personal vendetta against the dragon emperor. Eclipse then saw the long line of the city's people, all holding hands with a unparalleled sense of patriotism and loyalty. He stopped short and gasped, reading their spirits, their hearts. They were standing there VOLUNTARILY, holding hands, and barring the hydra from destroying their city and reaching their emperor with their own lives. The hydra of course, didn't care.
Eclipse leapt off the dragon and burst into a set a wings and flew toward Kiyoki. "Captain!" The paladin-demigod was speaking to Kiyoki, who seemed to be in charge. "The one who released the hydra is no longer with us. He did so entirely on his own, without our knowledge, so we are innocent." He landed on some lower ground and walked a few steps, not drawing any weapons. Kiyoki did not seem convinced. "Please, you must order your people to flee to safety. The situation is dire." Moved by the emotions of the people and by the threat to their innocent lives, Eclipse knelt down and gave in. "I am Eclipse, god of love, justice, and truth. I cannot deny you my aid. Please tell me anything you know about how to fight this creature, and I will do everything in my power to assist you."
