Purgatory

Rayne begins shaking in her slumber, as the shaking became more fierce, tears streamed down her face. Rayne was experiencing another night terror. A dream of the orphanage, years after its been abandoned. As a child she sat in a long dark hallway. One one side stood her father and the other side stood her mother. As the dream continued, they both fell as if they were murdered and their blood traveled and circled around the young, terrified Rayne, making her clinch herself in her sleep like a scared child.

Purgatory

"However my word stands." Rayne said. "once I give my word I never break it, that way I can earn my trust. Rayne then crawled back into the darkness and she curled up against the wall.

"Sleep well Thorn, maybe we can talk again when they let me roam freely like you." She said closing her eyes.

Purgatory

Rayne slowly came out of the darkness and she knelled in-front of thorn. "Well seeing as we share this cell now, how about we start again? She slowly presented her hand to horn to shake it. After-all, it doesn't hurt to have a friend, you don't have to trust me, just know I have your back here.

Purgatory

"If you only knew." Rayne said, now sitting against the wall, hugging her knees to her chest. "Truth is, I never wanted any of this. I remember as a child growing up in the orphanage." She smiled with a tear running down her cheek. "A young girl with hopes and dreams of singing her heart out in front of millions, shouting her words back to her in harmony. Just to be made fun of because her words spoke of seeking her one true love." She then sighed.

"Then depression came," Rayne said, examining old scars from her wrists. "After the first cut, I wanted more, not just for the pain, but my unusual interest for blood, the very essence of life, that's where the night terrors came. I was shunned away and even beat by the other orphans and no one cared because of my parents' evil reign of terror. That's why I kill, its the only thing keeping me from suicide attempts. I guess you shun me too then."

Rayne then started to crawling back into the darkness. "I'm not gonna bother you anymore. Sleep well."

Purgatory

"Yet the crazy girl tended to your wounds, rather than killing you and painting these walls with your blood." Rayne said in a soft tone. "Now to be honest I tried being nice, which is rare for me to do. I did so because you where hurt, now that I've seen that pretty face of yours beaten and bruised, I figured you would need a friend"

Rayne then stepped out of the darkness hugging herself. "Being alone gets quite depressing after a few years of living this twisted life."

Purgatory

"Thats what they all say," Rayne said with a smirk, she then backed into the shadowed part of the cell, becoming nearly invisible. "Then when the situation arises where they are hopeless, they realize that it would of been wise to accept help when given. It would be wise to keep my offer in mind for we are as fragile as we are strong."

Rayne's jaw dropped and she softly placed her hand on Thorn's cheek, examining the brushed. "Did those pigs do this to you Thorn?" she asked pulling her into a kind hug. "I Tell you what, I'll kill one of those pigs the next time they even lay a finger on you."

Purgatory

Rayne smiled a bit. "Well my friends refer to me is Rayne," she replied, putting a warm rag on the whelp on Thorn's head. "In truth, you're speaking with Broken Serenity, Daughter of Harley Quinn and the Joker." She then placed her hands softly on Thorn's shoulders to calm here. "And who might you be darling?"
