Bio

1. I'm in school to become a physical therapist assistant! (Did it!)

2. I will quit any roleplay that has been inactive IC for one month for any reason. I've been in too many Schrodinger's RP's and I'm not doing that anymore.

Alright, here's a CS to work on. I plan to start the RP if/when you post four character sheets. No maximum at this time but at least four.

Only one character per player at this time, please.

Name:
Appearance: (this can be a picture, written description, or both)
Gender:
Age:
Occupation:
Plant Essence: (what kind of plant has connected with your character and given them a superpower)
Superpower(s): (aim for a 2 or 3/10 on the powerful scale with a potential to scale up over time)
Personality:
History: (should include when their plant connection started)
Miscellaneous: (optional)
That's not what I had in mind, but I'm not about to veto it just yet :P
Yaay welcome to all the people ^_^

@Courtaud Actually, I might have too many ideas for plants, haha. I have to remember to populate the world with other NPC's too!

Plant powers could be more traditional / obvious plant powers. Growing vines to trap people, thorn attacks, conjuring fruit to make a delicious pie (or throw at your enemies). If you're feeling creative, they could also be things that aren't directly related to plant matter but have some association with the plant in mind. Like a spicy pepper could bestow fire powers, tea could bestow divination powers due to its association with fortune telling. (I already claim the divination tea guy though :))

You can either start with a plant you like and think about what powers its could bestow OR start with a superpower you want and think about what kind of plant that might relate to.
WOOO that was fast, haha. Tentatively welcome!

As legend goes...

Many ages ago, before the first forge was invented, the humans and animals lived in closer harmony. Perhaps because the animals honored the witty humans... or perhaps because they pitied the creatures whose only defense was their mind... the animals lent their aid to certain humans who respected and revered them. Most of this aid came in the form of quiet wisdom and encouragement. A handful of these people, however, received a greater bond with their animal guide. Some could breathe underwater, or run at inhuman speed, or fly, depending on whatever gift their guide had to give.

As technology advanced, humanity started to walk away from its connection with the animals. Started to "own" animals for their own gain, to think of all other species as lesser beings. As the divide grew, the guardian animals' gifts diminished until nothing but legend remained. The First Peoples of the Americas maintained their connection for millenia longer than most areas of the world, but eventually they too fell prey to conquerors and the last animal-powered human was lost to folklore.

For reasons unknown, the animal essences began to reappear around the year 1950. What began as a few disbelieved people thrown into asylums turned into thousands of people with secret, then open superpowers related to animal abilities. The rest of the 20th century and into the 21st century was partially shaped by the growing number of people with animal blessings and how they interact with the rest of humanity. Some nations praise them, some nations hate them, and there has been talk about starting a new nation just for people with animal-based powers. In the year 2021, about 10% of the world's population has a superpower granted by an animal essence.

Near the beginning of 2021, another strange thing happened. A small number of people began to develop... PLANT powers? Why did the plants get involved? Why now? Are plant-based powers even real, or just another urban legend? How will the new people with plant guardians interact with animal-powered people, regular humans, and the world around them? This legend is yet to be told...

Hiya! There aren't a lot of things set in stone yet around here. Here are the few rules/expectations:

1. General RPGuild rules
2. Your character must have a particular type of plant that grants them a reasonably related superpower(s). It can be on-the-nose or less so, as long as I decide your line of reasoning is valid. For example, a jalapeno could grant fire-breathing powers.
3. Plant powers are very new. Your character has had this connection for three months maximum. There is no minimum. As such, please keep your powers small-to-medium to start. If this goes well enough we can level up to god-mode later. :D
4. The plant or animal essence that bestows a power typically reveals itself as an image in a dream. The dream could happen before or after the powers emerge. The dream and powers usually happen within a month of each other, but sometimes a greater length of time passes for reasons unknown. (Or perhaps the person didn't realize the significance of the dream and had to be reminded multiple times, lol.)
5. This story takes place in an AU 21st century. The technology, customs, etc. are mostly similar to the real world, though the influence of animal essences has changed some things.
6. I don't have much of a length expectation for posts, but I do have a frequency expectation. I expect a post at least once a week and may move the story along without you if you don't post anything for two weeks.

That's it for now. Please let me know if you're interested and have any character ideas!
I think I took it too literal buuuuut oh well, here's the simple farm boy I wanted ^_^

Let me know if you think he'll fit in. Well, not necessarily with the other characters, but reasonably well with the setting at least. XD
Sure, if you want.

About what is the population of these nations in general? Of course, knowing that some are larger than others and Dairy would be a lot smaller.

I got my CS mostly done today, but finals come first. I should be done by tomorrow.

I couldn't decide whether to name him Harvey or Amos, so... now his name is Harvey Amos.
Confirmed dibs on Dairy with tentative CS up by the end of the day! 'Cause I got too excited about him ^_^'
Interest!

I am most interested in Dairy, but I could also do Fruit.

Are the other characters expected to be men, or can they be any gender?

Also, there are a lot of references to worship / religion. Is that intended to be a vague, make-it-up-as-you-go thing? Or do you have details in mind?

Oh! Also also! Are fantasy-type names or real-world names expected?
Ty Westgrove

Vareena Pokemon Center --> Vareena Town

Reaper spotted a battle unfolding as he flew toward the shopping district. Unfortunately, it ended before he could join the fight. Dammit. It looked like "Sophia and them" were okay now. Though there was some guy passed out on the ground. Hmm. Maybe Ty would want to know about that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ty restrained himself to only glance out the door every couple minutes or so. It seemed that white-haired girl had decided to leave him alone for the time being, but Ty couldn't shake the feeling that she was still watching him and trying to figure out what was going on.

The blond perked up and walked to the door as the Scyther landed just outside in a more-epic-than-necessary pose. The bug buzzed loudly with a focused look in his eye. Ty raised his brows in alarm.

"What?" Ty asked as he opened the door. "Are they really in-"

"Mr. Westgrove?" the assistant at the front desk interjected. "Your Pokemon are all ready."

Ty's head swiveled toward the front desk, then back to Reaper, then he pivoted and quickly walked to the counter. He grabbed the two pokeballs with a hasty thanks and headed back toward the door.

"Oh, and sir? Your Lit- sir!?"

Ty barely heard her, though, as he power-walked out the door. Reaper shot up into the air and zoomed away... then turned back to see his trainer following behind at an almost-jogging pace. The Scyther hissed and almost seemed to sag in the air as he slowed to stay within Ty's sight.
