No sooner than when Jaydaar finished reloading his assault rifle that it was wrenched from his grip by John, who then disappeared into the shadows before Jay could even glance back up. when the sword-wielding pirate came charging down the hall he fall into a low stance ready to counter, but had to keep himself from bursting out in laughter when the pirate was, almost-comically, tripped by John's extended foot. he was still recovering from the holding in his laughing fit when John started interrogating the pirate, but when he realized that john was bluffing him as a bloodthirsty man-eater to intimidate the pirate he immediately started playing along, baring his fangs and flexing his clawed fingers while standing over the pirate looking down at him with a predatory grin. though in the back of Jay's mind he was thinking 'is Bonecruncher really the best name he could come up with?'

Nerva grinned and bounded off behind his brother staying one step behind him until the last panel. when he hit the platform at the end of the obstacle he rushed past Felice to the next. coming up to the hanging log he grabbed the handholds and brought his legs up on the foothold, casting another grin over his shoulder at Felice as the log slid along the railing.

I'm confused as to what planet this mission is on. i thought it was said somewhere that we are going to a place on earth but the Exclusion zone is on mars...

@User semi-Automatic. the m14 model is a battle rifle, the m21 and m25 are sniper variants, and there were m14s that had full auto firing modes, but with the size of the caliber it uses they were too uncontrollable and most were set to permanent semi-auto.

now if you wanted an m21 for long range that'd be fine, it's essentially the same rifle with a few tweaks and a fixed scope.

Nerva grinned when his brother challenged him "alright, you're on". he walked up and got into the starting position beside his little half-brother "I hope you remember how i like my Shawarma, dear brother" he set into a ready pose and waited for the mark.

Jay kept firing around the corner, cursing as the pirates got some reinforcements though shortly after he got some reinforcements of his own in the form of John, who suddenly appeared and brought down the remaining pirates. as combat faded with the pirates' deaths Jay stepped out of cover, checking the clip in his rifle, with the small amount he'd scavenged off the pirate he'd gotten the rifle from he'd almost run out already, luckily there was a whole squad of pirates strewn about the hall. gathering more ammo from some and putting another clip in the gun, sliding the bolt back, hissing out "let's get the blighter", and letting the bolt slide back and turning toward John with a grin.

'so he did mean blood' Nybras thought 'so he's hinting each riddle with his actions' though is wasn't needed on the next one, he'd actually heard this one before, it was referring to the way humans commonly age, how they crawl when newly born, the four legs in the morning, learn to walk on two feet when they've grown, the evening, and when they've grown old they use a cane for support, the third leg. "Humans" he said, it was the most common answer at least...

Zeruel leaned on one of the ship's walls watching the rest of the squad, he was almost glad for passing largely unnoticed, it was a welcome change from the glares he usually got around the tower. while he was off to the side he took the time to form a few opinions on his teammates, at least based on the first impressions. Andromedai and her ghost seemed an okay sort, he wasn't to sure about them yet as they'd only briefed the team on their mission so far. Kazik, the Fallen, he only tolerated it's existence because the speaker bade him so. Spectre, he seemed arrogant, that was it really. other than that he didn't yet have opinions on everyone.

as introductions were being made and several of his squadmates were going to start a card game Veruna spoke up "we may as well introduce ourselves as well, I am Veruna, and my Guardian here is Zeruel, you'll have to forgive he lack of speaking but a previous injury inhibits his ability to do so" she returned to hovering over Zeruel's shoulder as he looked at the three starting a game, he would have joined but all his coins were stashed in his vault, all the same he would have wanted to avoid Kazik anyway. he looked around at the other fireteam members, perhaps fighting with a fireteam would be good for him, he's gotten far to used to fighting alone.
