Hi, I'm zombiedoctormd. Doc for short is fine. I'm 30 years old ("an elder millennial"). I'm afraid I haven't done any roleplaying in quite some time so I may be rusty at this. I used to hang out on RP forums in my early to mid teen years (c. ~2005-2007ish). Primarily, I was active on a couple different Nation States regional forums. I vaguely remember doing some wrestling and Mortal Kombat roleplaying too, but don't remember specifically what forums. The hobby didn't stick with me as I got older and my interests shifted though.
My interest in getting back to it is largely due to the COVID situation. I have an abundance of free time (cushy AF work from home, thankfully) now. Time for hobbies, creativity, and self-exploration. I've been looking to things I used to do when I was kid/teen for inspiration and one of things was writing. I think getting back into RP may be a good way to dust myself off and get back on the proverbial horse again.
In terms of what I'm hoping to find, a small low maintenance group for substantive RP on the longer side of things. Unfortunately, I'm not flexible enough to keep up with groups requiring frequent daily interaction/commitment. Basically, I want to be able to pop my head in here once or twice a week, catch up and post.
In terms of themes, I mentioned I used to hang out on Nation States. Something like that, if you're familiar. More geopolitically focused vs character. More like collaborative worldbuilding. It can be set in real life or a sci fi/fantasy setting, I don't care. I'm a bit of a history geek (went to college for it) and read lots of non-fiction and have pumped an absurd number of hours into the Civ games over the years. I've also been a lifelong fan of RPG games like The Elderscrolls, Fallout, Witcher, KOTOR et cetera, et cetera.
One of my biggest passions out of all that is mycology. I grow mushrooms (not that kind!) in my apartment and garden. I am passionate about them. I'm a bit of an urban homesteader.
