So what're your thoughts on the fact North Korea's leader is MIA? I personally think he's dead and North Korea is trying to come up with some heir to the Jong "throne" or try to come up with a body double to play their leader.

I wanna hear your thoughts where the heck do you think he is, many news analysts have noticed some health problems and North Korea state media is citing "illness" but if you heard a recent clip by state media the anchor was crying like he died. So I think we're not getting the full picture yet.

Anyway, enough of my theories. Where do you think Kim Jong-Un is? Do you think we'll need to start CSI-Pyongyang to find him?

Bad news. Un goes away and there's a power-play between the WPK and the Army to get their pocket-Kim on the throne. Maybe it works out peacefully but..... usually, smoothing things over in DPRK politics means blowing up a south korean fishing boat, or some other similar provocation. They need those stunts to legitimize their internal power. The bigger the domestic problems..... the bigger the stunt. And this could be a *very* big domestic problem. Is SK going to put up with that shit, or are they going to finally decide that the DPRK will never be weaker, and just get the war over with now while the advantage is there?

.....this could be very, very, very bad. If we have an ounce of fucking sense in the state department, we're sending in secret black-ops doctors to cure the little prick.

All I saw was a new program claiming he's having issues 'walking'.

Odd's are there's something far more serious at play, but I wouldn't get excited about him dying quite yet.
But if he does die and North Korea enters a power play, it might be smart to Annex/Free the nation from dictator rule. Join them up with South Korea again and just have a free Korea overall like the South has been enjoying for a while now.

There is going to be a *massive* political catfight over who gets to has to take care of the refugees. China will straight-up shoot them dead at the border, I suspect, because the conversion rate on Chinese fucks is something absurd, and they don't give any. Unless our footing with China is stronger than it looks.... which it is, but..... idunno. I didn't want the Kims to crash for several more years. There's a way to turn this into a huge new partnership in East Asia. I don't think we're ready yet. We're still standing up bases and shit..... dunno, dunno. This motherfucker dies, that could mean a lot of people die. So we want him alive for now.

Correct response was "level this place before they got nukes but after the fall of the Soviet Union". But, once again, we'd rather make nine stiches later than one timely.

I honestly don't understand what China gains by propping them up, other than a weaker US ally in South Korea turned All Korea.

In all seriousness, I don't know. If he does die, we may get someone worse than him in power.

Well Un does have two brothers (the older one had fallen out of favor with their father and was exiled. He now resides in the Philippines) while the other one is a low ranking secratary of some office. if anything the country will crumble because their eternal leaders are all gone.

Maybe there's some coup in the works to re-unite the Koreas and it's uber hush-hush, though that's probably being hopelessly optimistic. It's probably more likely that China is pulling some black ops shit to annex NK.

China's behavior is best explained by wanting nothing whatsoever to do with running North Korea. The whole stand-off between the US and China is misunderstood. Nobody likes NK, nobody wants NK, we're all arguing over who's going to get stuck with it. The Kim dynasty has carved out a niche as the world's inoperable tumor. Nobody wants the tumor, not us, not China, nobody. Trouble is, cutting the tumor out is going to cause damage, and we haven't figured out how to mitigate that yet. Or maybe we have, and this whole mysterious disappearance is phase one. Who can say? My point being, NK falling apart is a very bad thing to wish for, and of all the shitty China stuff in the world, NK is probably the one you shouldn't blame on them. Once the jig is up and the Kim's go down, you're going to *immediately* see China on our side of the field. Anything that the PRC says or does between now and then, it's just to keep their own country together.

In the event that war does break out with North Korea, what scares me more than the possibility that the Norks probably have a nuke pointed straight at Seoul is the possibility that they're probably willing to sell their nuclear arsenal on the black market to fund their war effort. Chances are that the Norks are going to get hammered to a pulp either way, but the latter possibility gives me chills because that could very well be how ISIS could get their hands on nuclear material.

Either way, I'm convinced that even if WW3 isn't going to happen, then something that'll dwarf 9/11 will, and that it's right on the horizon. The next 10 years look very gloomy for me. Only goes to show me how Murphy's law could very well be perfectly applied to politics, and how history seems doomed to repeat itself no matter how much humanity tries to change it.

Those who defected from North Korea to live in South Korea are usually pushed into specific neighbourhoods and apartment buildings. The people are generally smaller and very easy to differentiate. There is a stigma, unspoken separation, and generally, North Koreans are not see as the same. They are to be avoided. There are literally television shows made solely to humanize North Korean refugees in the country. If you think brainwashing is only in North Korea, or that unification is simply erasing borders, you may be surprised what decades of undervaluing and demonizing does to the mind and a people. It's not a simple solution.

You mean for Americans? Because there have been dozens of genocides, terrorist attacks, and civilian deaths all around the world that I would say dwarf our 9/11 by far. Where our worst memory in recent history struck in a matter of less than half a hour, killing a thousands of civilians, the wars they led to have caused more civilian deaths over a decade -- meaning unlike us who now fear for safety from one event, there are children who grew up fearing air-strikes and sieges indiscriminately killing their families or them. I'd say that dwarfs 9/11 by far.

In terms of the death toll, it'd make sense that it'd just be for America. But beyond death toll, I'm also thinking in terms of international impact. When shit happens in America or another big seemingly well-off Western country, it makes international headlines. When there's something of the same scale in terms of death and damage relative to the country it happened in, and said country happens to less developed or more restrictive on media and journalism, it just doesn't get covered as much.

This doesn't make either situations any less tragic. If anything, it makes both more tragic, because that's when the West starts screaming bloody murder, leading to more totalitarian measures in countries that are supposed to be "free" compared to the rest of the world, while Whereverstan is either left to continue trying to survive on a day to day basis with its problems or end up at the forefront of the West's frantic search for answers and solutions.

I wasn't intending this to be a debate about American policies and thoughts on America, but whatever it's in your hands.
