I said on the whole. Yeah, that last race not so much, but the Vollori also fall into that category as well with the way they manage their race. Kinda like a Borg collective. I'll talk about the individual government things I saw later. :P
Oh, and it makes perfect sense, but at the same time, like I said, I'm bit Trekkie in mentality and find that if the reason for breaking the law is. . . .Hmm, how to put this. . . . .Selfish is the wrong word, but it's the first one that jumps to mind. It's invading them because it's what the empire wants/needs rather than doing it to make the beings on the planet’s life better. See what I'm saying? If the reason is not a kindness toward the people on the planet, it's setting a bad example. Not saying it's a major downfall or anything, just a personal perspective on it.
Also, on the hive mentality thing. . .It's not exactly meant as a mean thing. While the Borg are definitely bad guys, the fact that your empire makes me think of them raises a question in the back of my mind at the moral implications of how your empire works. It also makes me think of the word communism, and as a human who knows humans can not work for our race, it makes me wonder how we AS humans would be able to relate to these characters and they way they think. Don't get me wrong, communism works on a very small scale, but once you go over a certain number of people, humans no longer can function in such a society :P Also, not saying the empire is a communist society, it just makes me think of one.
Heh, TShara actually got mad at me when I said these things about your empire, mostly because of that first though up there in my last post on what you see as a perfect society :P Got in a debate about people's writing revealing things about them, and she thought I was insulting you. I didn't show her the thing you sent me, just made some offhanded comments.
We can move on if you have nothing to say about above :P
