The FERAL battle suits remained positioned within the Wolkar secured hanger bays, overseeing the drop ships coming and going. More engineering teams were deployed to examine the satellite's systems in greater detail as well as attempting to boot up the data terminals using external power cells. The engineering teams deployed themselves to the faint power signatures, examining them so they may observe at least a partially functioning power source for this station. They would then use what they knew and learned to attempt to get some of the systems back online. Upon hearing the Litharian's intent of powering up the station from their own reactor they agreed and said they would make the necessary arrangements while attempting to repair the main and emergency generators so the satellite could be self sustaining before the end of this expedition.

It didn't take long to unload the reactor and get it set up, but splicing into the stations power grid took much longer. Especially since the Litharians were trying to avoid activating any defense or attack systems. After a few hours they did it, supplementing the station's power systems, causing the data access terminals by the Litharian command to become active. Litharian scientists then began to search them using transfer terminals to give them a familiar control scheme to shift through it. Though the virtual defense programs and firewalls would take ages to crack. With any luck the return of power wouldn't cause any undo effects on the station or the people inside. The Litharians made sure to contact the Wolkar to inform them of their success as well as having a center set up up for data access. Knowing their expertise with computer systems could come to great use at their facilities. Inviting Wolkar engineers to assist with teh data mining. Throughout the rest of the station the Litharians and Karadons were patrolling deeper into the station in search of any signs of life or artifacts of the station that could be taken back for study.

The Wolkar were happy to hear their colleague's efforts bore fruit as many of the station's systems came back online, gladly offering several teams of technicians to work on the data mining project. As a security measure they did an initial scan of the data archives and placed them within a secured data partition, allowing them to manipulate the data safetly. Should something trigger to corrupt the files, only the partition would be corrupted and could be removed from the hardware. Meanwhile, Wolkar expeditionary teams joined the Litharian exploration, at least one or two medics acompanying each group should anyone be injured or they come across any of the origional inhabitants in need of aid.

With power restored, the station is able to simulate gravity, atmosphere, and provide lighting once more. It's weapon systems, too, are prepared to come online. The only problem, that which also bars any information harvests, is that every system on the station is securely locked down by alien security protocols. Not only does one have to hack their way through sophisticated systems, but they would have to decipher the language all is logged in. The language in question is old, and far from recognizable. It'll take even the most experienced teams more than a little time to produce anything useful from the mountains of foreign text. Symbols, word structure, grammar, format- Promising, but lengthy and arduous.

The Wolkar, though initially thrown off by the language barrier, was more than up to the challenge. They soon established a galaxy not connection to the university on Ferran and began to consult with the proffessors there. One of them was even willing to take part in a conference connection via holo comm. The linguistics professor began to work with the technicians to work through their code piece by piece. It was tedious trying to manipulate the ancient system that used a different written language as well as programming, but working together and using the technicians knowledge of known programming language structures they were slowly working towards reconstructing a list of basic commands that would allow them to access the system.

Litharian Galactic Date 5371-233, Unknown Station. While the Wolkar were busy attempting to decipher the alien code the Litharian scientists began to create and partition special data core for storing the data should the Wolkar break through the code and find recoverable data. Still throughout the station search squads patrolled the now lit halls with a more easy feeling. A creepy abandoned station with no light is always scarier that a creepy abandoned station with light.

With the resources of the Wolkar thrown to the task of deciphering the language, it could be done in a week, give or take a few days depending on their experience with xenology. The search teams, unfortunately, find little. Only furniture, terminals, and endless metal corridors. This station lacked many of the things you would expect living beings to need. Sleeping quarters, restrooms, and so on.

The Wolkar technical team kept hammering away at it, using trial and error as well as establishing a list of most likely commands. While a full force handled the attempts in the day, they kept one or two working on it at night while the rest rested. After a little over a week, they had drawn up a manageable conversion template for letters and coding, those back at the university recording their efforts to make a translation. With as it was now it would only be a day to type up a full translation file that would, theoretically, copy the files within the station to galactic standard language.

Litharian Galactic Date 5371-234, Unknown Station. The Litharians patiently waited for the Wolkar to work, assisting where they could and finished setting up their data cores within the first few days. When the patrols in the station continued to yield nothing command issued a fall back order and they became guards stationed around central command and the immediate vicinity. Similarly after about two or three days the docked HAMMER took off back into space and began a tight patrol around the station since no threats existed in inside they could only come from the outside. Still several teams were left on the station just in case.

Day 68 in the 8th millennium They had heard its mournful cry for aid from a race long dead, and coveted that which the cry emanated from. They knew it to be precursor, and eagerly dispatched a fleet of 4 Reaper frigates to obtain the knowledge it might contain. The frigates swept across the void, hastened by the bending of space to lessen their distances. Their entrance came with little warning. Day 74 in the 8th millennium When the Cel ships slipped out of the immaterial realm with little more than a whisper, they immediately detected the infestation. The commandant of this expedition found himself pleased. The trip had been unusually smooth. His good mood was barely hampered by the detection of inferior lifeforms on what they desired. He gazed upon the metal boxes that those surely primitive lifeforms called voidships, and issued a single order that the crew of all 4 vessels responded to with zeal: "Cleanse the infection." 4 reflective, shadowy warships closed in on the station and the starships around it with every intention to fire as soon as they were in range.

After a day of additional work to finish the translation program they were ready to initiate it. They tested it on an isolated terminal, ensuring it was not connected to anything else save it's own personal data storage. With the test ready they ran the program, watching as the code was translated and put into an external memory unit.

Litharian Galactic Date 5371-239, Unknown Station. Unknown vessels have just broken out of some new kind of warp space, moving to intercept and contact. Both Litharian HAMMER warships broke off of their patrol around the station and attempted to make contact with the Wolkar ships requesting that they be flanked by their frigates and to have their cruiser stay behind the HAMMERs ready to deploy it's craft should these newcomers become hostile. Within the facility the scientists and soldiers were informed of this development and told to be wary of the station reacting due to this.

The Wolkar frigates and cruiser were quick to repsond, the two frigates moving over the Cruiser while also deploying the FERALs and having them latch onto the cruiser's hull as they moved to flank the HAMMER and intercept the new signals. Meanwhile the relief ship was put on emergency standby, preparing should they need to evacuate the scientists and technicians whether they be Litharian or Wolkar. The Wolkar dropships were prepped and put on standby for emergency evac should the new contacts be hostile.

The Litharian ships, now flanked by the Wolkar continued towards the new ships, closing the gap just a little before opening up all communication channels and broadcasting, "Attention foreign vessels, we are the Litharian Alliance. Identify yourselves." On repeat. Meanwhile around them the still cloaked scout ships began to move to flank the newcomers, should they be hostile they were to be in a position to attack from the rear, or atleast the flank should the ships begin firing early.

The Cel ships slow to a halt. The broadcast is not responded to. There is total silence from the four frigates for a mere half minute before the action comes. Arcing points of light detach themselves from the frigates, totaling to forty in all their number, and stream towards the Wolkar and Litharian ships at random. Missiles. Lines of energy run up the broadsides of the Cel voidships as they turn their broadsides to face the most prominent enemy vessels, unleashing beams that sweep across the rival ship's hulls, targeting population-dense locations.

As the Cel vessels opened fire the Litharian ships were a tad shocked to see such a violent outburst from strangers, but that was quickly dashed and the HAMMER warships with weapons already hot began firing volleys of heated plasma at their attacks. Thankfully most of the shots were targets at the Wolkar's cruiser. their shields and armor should buy them some time to get in some good shots. But they weren't ready to leave them hanging, their point defense systems powered up and started going to work at those missiles, they wouldn't get all of them, but a third, maybe half if they were lucky could be shot down. The Scouts were contacted and informed of the newcomers becoming hostile and they sent their engines into full drive to get into flanking positions ASAP. The two of them almost in range, but one was on the far side of the system and would need more time. The few lasers that were aimed at the Litharian ships raked their hulls causing a good deal of damage, but all of it superficial, so far. Back on the station the Litharians and Karadon received the warning and looked on as a battle opened up above them. It was a quick thinking Litharian scientist who looked away from the battle and remembered that the station was armed with weapons. Using the Wolkar's translation code he accessed one of the station's weapon terminals and if it was correct they seemed to be manually controlled. All around the their central command structure more terminals were used to access the weapon systems, booting up a few of the guns, about eight in total. Trying out the controls they began aiming and firing off a few practice shots away from teh battle. Really it wasn't that hard to control them at their core level. Getting ready the scientists and soldiers who were manning the guns took aim at the enemy ships readying them for fire.

The Wolkar muttered curses in their own language and opened fire, the cruiser taking position to absorb most of the fire. Their shields and armor were tough, but they wouldn't last forever under such an assault. The FERALs leaped from the cruiser and moved out of the direct fire line, aiming to board from their sides. Finally, the two Wolkar frigates began to open their forward cannons upon their enemies. Meanwhile on the station and the relief vessel Emissary Rover was beginning evacuation protocols and getting all the Wolkar engineering and medical teams onboard as well as any Litharian workers that would board the ships with them. Once procedures were underway, he had a signal sent to Ferran to inform the Sirius of the attack. He just prayed the transmission went through. At the very least, they would notice something had happened if the daily reports stopped coming. Some of the Wolkar had also noticed the Litharians had used their code with some success, the soldiers opting to stay behind as opposed to their orders to evacuate and man whatever turrets were left that were aimed at the battle. Soon the guns roared to life, aiming to give their fellows cover fire as they moved in to assault the enemy.

Two of the Cel ships diverted beam weapons to dealing with FERALs while their missiles continued to streak towards the Wolkar cruiser. All other beam weapons either hit the Wolkar cruiser, or crossed over Litharian ships at random. They still believed their victory to be assured, by way of arrogance in their technology, and even closed the gap between their own vessels and the enemy ones. On top of the full-steam-ahead tactics, an anomalous pulse of energy from three of the four Cel frigates was accompanied by the appearance of eerily darkly clad, armoured figures appearing all over the precursor station in groups of two and three. And then, after another pulse from two ships, even more armoured figures appeared upon the Wolkar cruiser. Their numbers, for now, were impossible to determine.

The Litharian ships took the stray hits in stride one of the HAMMERs losing one of it's guns but otherwise no further critical damage. Returning the favor they continued to release barrage after barrage of plasma into the enemy vessels hoping to break down those damn shields and see what they are really made of. Meanwhile the scouts continued to flank the Cel ships, one was finally in range but wasn't going to reveal itself until it got the OK from the other two. Back on the station, the guns were all set up and ready to fire and fire they did, all the litharians unloaded the full wrath of the station's weapons, only something was wrong. While they had eight under their control only six were shooting. It was in that moment that teams around the central command began reporting invaders were attacking the Litharian and Karadon forces. In response they began returning fire, releasing plasma and sword against the aliens.

The Wolkar fleet was taking more punishment than the Litharians, namely the large cruiser which was the focus of the ship's assaults. THeir armor was already starting to buckle under the heavy barrages when hell seemed to start breaking loose. "Captain! We've got boarders on the ship! They just materialized someh-AAAH!" THe transmission was cut out by some sort of energy blast, the aged old wolf already hearing the battle outside of the bridge. "This ship may be lost, but like hell it will fall into their hands. All bridge crew abandon ship. I will take full control. Get to the escape pods immediately." The captain's words held a note of finality, the other wolkar not arguing and giving a solemn salute before they went to the pods. With the captain directly connected to all the ship systems he took the cruiser's weapons offline and redirected all power to the shields and engines, his ship lurching forward with a fresh burst of speed and began to close on the enemy vessels. "Computer, initiate automated self destruct. Authorization Beta-zero-charlie-seven. Initiate with a one minute delay." The screens onboard all turned an eerie red with the timer counting down, the Captain raising the PA microphone and patching it into the Comms array broadcasting to all channels. "This is Captain Marchok of the Wolkar Exploration cruiser Ker'ra. To whoever had dared to attack us, I tell you this: You have assaulted an exploration and relief effort investigating a distress call from YOUR station. However, when we come here seeking knowledge of a new people and to bring you aid and medicine, you spurn us by attacking civilians! Doctors and engineers, and technicians who have never seen the battlefield until you chose them as a target, slaughtering those who only sought to help you! To those honorless nikriin who would attack a relief effort: This is from the pack! Aal hi liivor mahfaeraak ko ausul!!" As soon as the cruiser had gotten between two of the enemy ships the center of the cruiser seemed to violently rupture, exploding out with incredible force that would threaten to obliterate the two ships it was next to and likely do harm to the other two remaining. On the frigates and the station, the Wolkar listened to the broadcast final words, snarls growing from their throats and tears of loss in their eyes. Those on the ships renewed their assault, growing more bold and almost reckless as they cared almost nothing for their own lives at that point. All that mattered was killing the enemies that were remaining. Those on the station soon found their own prey, the soldiers still onboard practically throwing themselves directly at the armored enemies with abandon. They punched and sliced and burned without clear thought or reason, running solely on rage and instinct as a few even removed their helmets and sank their teeth into the necks of those they fought. It was a display the Litharians would find courageous if they were not appalled by the sheer ferocity and brutality shown.
