Fitting, don't you think?" Oliver Zehn said in casual conversation with one of the artists who created the character. "So who do you think is next in line for our corporate image?" "I'd say Janet-R, provided the team for the second game did their jobs right this time. Talk about insensitivity..." "Anyway, I have to get going. That new HQ in Japan isn't going to inaugurate itself!" Oliver said, and started dialing a cab on his brick-sized cell phone. "Where is it, anyway?" the artist asked. "Land prices in Japan are through the roof. I chose a place called Komatsu in the Ishikawa Prefecture. Fairly out of the way, unfortunately."

Video Gadgeteer Q4 Fall, 1993 HQs: Medicine Hat, Alberta (CA/US); Komatsu, Ishikawa (JP) $248,639,500 (was $152,877,000) --- Game Machine CD? CD prices have been steadily going down as the decade progresses. Video Gadgeteer, already losing market to the Big Box and Elder Dragon System, may be looking to rejuvenate the Game Machine with a CD add-on. They have recently placed ads looking for experts in optical media and have hired some gaming industry prodigies "to create larger games". They might be worried about the impact of additional customer expense and the pitfalls of having the device developed by a third-party who they would have to sign a contract with, thus the ads. As for larger games, CDs have more storage space than many programmers know what to do with. A successful game on a CD system will need quality AND quantity.
