"Oh. That. Well, even he's not sure exactly how it works. Either he's increasing his speed and reflexes so it seems like everything else is slowed, or he's slowing down time in the area he's in. I'm not sure which one. It almost kills him to use it though, because the chakra use is massive," James said. "The only clans I can think of that have enough chakra to use it effectively without being seriously fatigued is the Uzumaki clan and the Uchiha clan, because they're known for having massive amounts of chakra."

James sighed, walking over and making Bane lay back down. "Too bad this idiot is the only one with that unique power. It's not even a jutsu. It's more like a Kekkei Genkai, but without requiring usage of his eyes. He also has really low amounts of chakra compared to most shinobi, which is why his use of it is so limited."

Bane glared at him and said "That girl needed help, James and you know it. She didn't deserve a life with them...she was just a kid..." Bane faultered and Megumi was there in a moment, supporting him. "Its alright Bane...maybe my father can help you. He is very wise and skilled...he could know a way to break the seal"

James looked at Megumi. "That sounds like a good idea. This seal is unique. Breaking seals is my specialty, but this seal cannot be broken by normal means. You'd need someone more powerful than the person the seal is on, as it keeps itself sustained using the chakra it's sealing. The more powerful the person the seal is on, the more powerful the seal becomes."

MEgumi nodded then asked "Can I see it?" Bane lifted his shirt to show a seal on his chest, covering most of it. She sighed, touching it gently. "A fire seal...he used a branding style...that's harsh...it hurts to use a lot of energy doesn't it?" Bane blinked and said "Yes...how would you know that? No one else whose looked at it knew that..." Megumi lowered his hand and said "I know a few things...You two should get some sleep. We can get thru the gateway at dawn break so no reason to rush there now. I'll keep first watch." She got up and went to the cave opening, her whole demeanor changed.

James looked at Bane. "I knew about what it does, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want you to think I was worried," he said, chuckling. Then he looked at Megumi. "No. You sleep. I'll take first watch. You need to rest. You two were the ones running most of the time."

She turned and said "and you two were the ones fighting today. You can take second watch. I'll take first" she walked out of the cave, leaning against the stone wall and looking up at the sky, thinking. *this hunters mean business...playing soft won't do me much good much longer...I'll have to show my true self...but at what cost?* she sighed, closing her eyes

Bane looked over at him and said "Just use that sleep jitsu you used on me. And I know you did..." HE leaned back and said "She's hiding something by the way...I can sense it..." He closed his eyes and said "Get some sleep..."

Megumi sat down, crossing her legs and sighing. "just let the shadows breath through you...let the night live...."

James sighed. "I know..." He didn't want to tell him that the reason he rarely sleeps is because of horrible nightmares that would probably drive anyone other than him insane because of how bad they were. He looked out of the cave at Megumi. He was actually pretty curious as to what she's hiding, but he wouldn't ask her. He would just wait for her to tell them. She would have to eventually.

Bane sighed and rolled over, shaking his head. "You don't have to fight it alone, brother...you do have those who care about you...those who want to help you if you would only let them..."

Megumi watched the night move around her, lost in her senses and thoughts. She had a feeling that the worst was only just about to hit them...like a calm before the storm.
