The Alliance was not all filled with heroes.

The RP is currently closed unless I've otherwise stated that we have a spot open for you.

A Brief Overview

  • The Star Wars Universe
  • 2 BBY
  • Taking place primarily on Coruscant
  • Less dramatic spectacles of war and more cloak and dagger.
  • Your characters will be members of the Rebel cell on Coruscant. While most of the Rebellion had deemed the seat of imperial power as a lost cause, a small insurrectionist movement had sprung up in the lower factory districts of the mutli-tiered city. They gathered imperial plans and troop movements to be sent to rebel leaders, smuggling contraband and occasionally disrupting imperial activities with a well placed explosive. The jobs themselves could be considered suicide missions as Imperial and the Coruscant Security Forces were under strict orders to kill anyone suspected of anti-imperial motives.
  • Most of the members of the movement are not actually particularity fond in the beliefs and ideals of the Rebel Alliance that they fight for. Rather they are smugglers, mercenaries, criminals, gangsters, spies, and assassins that would rather prefer a Coruscant without Imperial jurisdiction placed upon them that had slowly squeezed the life out of the underbelly of the city.
  • They are more akin to a terrorist cell then a glorious rebellion carrying out assassinations, bombings, break-ins and any other tactic deemed necessary to deal with the imperial threat. As a result most of them are of rather morally scrupulous natures and willing to cross a few lines to get the job done.
  • This can all end horribly for us depending on your actions
  • It's basically a cold war espionage thriller à la anything by John le Carré but with a Star Wars twist to it.

A Fluff Filled Plot Synopsis

"A revolution can be neither made nor stopped. The only thing that can be done is for one of several of its children to give it a direction by dint of victories."
— Napoleon Bonaparte

In the presence of a powerful estate there will always be those who look upon it with disdain. Galactic historians always look fondly upon the First Galactic Civil War as a time of heroes fighting for a valiant cause against those that would oppress them. But history tends to forget that in war dark deeds must be done in the name of victory and sometimes the thin line between black and white becomes muddled and grey. Heroes don't blow up public transports to kill high ranking officials, heroes don't blow buildings and they always care about others. But on the labyrinthine seat of Imperial power known as Coruscant there are no heroes only people with a fight that seems to be worth fighting. Damn it all if they lose because somebody feels bad.

While somewhere in the far reaches of space the rest of the Rebel Alliance was slowly getting its footing, gathering its ships and preparing for the war to come a different war was brewing on Coruscant. They first started to appear in the lower levels among the factories and those most oppressed by Imperial rule. Shadowy figures spoke of new ideals and a return to the old way of things, it was a spark of hope that was needed to start a destructive flame. While some that flocked to the call honestly did believe in the Rebel ideology most were of simpler make: angry factory workers, gangsters, smugglers, criminals, assassins and the like all who desperately wanted their own chance to kill a few imperial bastards. The Imperials did not take too kindly too this and soon heavier curfews began to be enforced as a greater number of imperial backed kill teams entered the barrens and burrows of the undercity to crush these seeds of rebellion.

The men and women of these cells most of the time ended up laying down their lives in the name of a free Coruscant. Most would never see the day that a New Republic Flag flew atop the Imperial Palace but without them it never would. The data and information they gathered saved hundreds of lives of soldiers and pilots alike and their other activities severally hampered with Imperial activities in the Coreworlds. Though like most of these cells once the New Republic took order they soon wanted to but their less than savory actions behind them and soon buried the actions of such groups under restrictive file access. But redaction of files only made it so they were forgotten by the future it can not change the past. And while their names may be forgotten, their actions and the new order they inadvertently helped create lived on.

This is the story of these men and women.

At the start

At the start of the role play we shall begin before the group's first real mission together. This will allow everyone to get a feel for their characters as well as everyone else on the squad. Allowing us to all get into the groove so to speak and set up the tone and flesh out the dark corners of Coruscant. Depending on how the mission unravels and your actions a team the story will adapt accordingly. Also if any of you wants to hit it up as a CO-GM just ask and if I like your reasoning and style the help would be wanted. Most importantly while casual standards and regulations exist the I stress for all of you to have fun with this. I love Star Wars you probably love Star Wars and this is what this is all about.

Ello, was reading through and said you would allow a force sensitive characters, and had a kinda floating concept from a tabletop starwars game I was playing.

My character was supposed to be a padawaan who had always been a bit egotistical and showboating, not having a lightsaber yet, just low training in the order. I figured he would have been showboating on a mission and gotten his master killed through that, subsequently getting him sent away from the order, and the reputation from that causing him to be unable to gain respectable work and turning to mercenary work. He specializes as a sniper, and while he may get a nudge or feeling about where a target is going to be, is mostly cut off from the force. Mostly just concept stage but would a character like that be acceptable.

@Xtreme
I like March two thumbs up!

@The Fox Without
Well the idea presented sounds interesting enough and I would be interested to see how you could work it out.

@Apollosarcher
I like what you have as an idea for Gin. But I'm going to get a little nitpicky here because he is force sensitive.

- You say that he is Quiet, thoughtful, and observant. Yet at the same time show that he is easily angered, vengeful and filled with egotistic values. Which kind of sort of rubs the wrong way with the calm, thoughtful type? But hey that's just my opinion.

- I'm going to need you to go a little more in depth in your history for me.

- Just a little side note the nomenclature of clone troopers by 19 BBY as by that point with the formation of the Empire they offically became storm troopers and service was opened to not just cloned individuals by 9 BBY

- Ylenic It'kla saving him is fine but where on Alderaan did they go? Did they hide out in a city, the wilderness, a small village? It is true that Alderaan during the rise of the empire was filled with anti-imperial sentiment but at the same time because of this it had a very high Imperial presence. So how did they blend in? And how did they practice their Jedi arts without begin detected. As a matter of fact where their others there? Was it a conclave of sort? Because since you still talk of Knighthood it implies that where ever he trained they still tired to follow the hierarchy in some way. Something that most Jedi such as Obi-wan didn't do out of simplicity and the general lack of Jedi. Was the training done like the old ways at the temple or was it more freestyle like most Jedi resorted to after the purge?

- As a Mirluka he is very attuned to the force and because of that is very vulnerable to the lure of the dark side of the force. How does he resist these urges when he is filled with revenge and hate? Or does he not has he become more akin to a dark jedi than a light one?

- And how did he kill a Mandolorian? No offense but Mandolorian's don't really give up their armor too well and it has been document several times that a well experienced Mando warrior can provide a challenge for even a Jedi Master. So how does a Padawn who never completed his training and knows fairly basic force abilites kill such a foe?

Sorry if that seems a lot but there is a reason I'm doing it. I've had too many a RP like this ruined because OP Jedi are OP.

Lol, everyone wants to be a sniper... I guess I'll go with the assassin then. :)

Ah about that as well. Please everyone try to have some variety in your weapons and skills, like we can all have blasters and shoot bad guys but everybody having dead eye aim and sniper rifles gets a little ridiculous.

@Hexaflexagon I'll go back and add more detail but explain a few of your concerns.

- He is calm and collected however his ego can often cloud his decision making and lead to an emotional situation. If he gets emotional then he tends to fall back on anger and vengeance rather than his training. A coin trying to decide between to sides.

- He wants vengeance for his parents but he also wants to carry on the order. The conflict comes between personal vendetta's and hope for the reformation of the Order.

- Not all who wear Mandalorian armor are true Mandalorians, I just assumed it was a bounty hunter thinking it would make the Jedi back down. A real Mando could easily take him.

The point of Gin was to make a character whose Grey but will one day have to make a choice. I'll add in more detail about his training but it was formal training as his Master wanted to see the Order restored and felt that all teachings should be passed on.

@Hexaflexagon No problem, also I guess La would know he's a Jedi and maybe Sarkh as there leading the cell. He's trying to keep it secret as to avoid drawing Inquisitors or worse.

I have created a force sensitive character, an entirely untrained one with not particularly strong force sensitivity. Potentially a Padawan type.

I'm sorry to say this but I can't really accept Vrookak. A) This isn't a jedi story and I'm not really looking for Padawan type to begin with that I've have stated her previously. B) I'm not really sure he fits the tone that I'm trying to achieve here. This is a dark and mature look at moral themes of trust, betrayal and morality as seen through the lens of the Star Wars universe and he just does not cut it.

Well I mean, not necessarily as a jedi. The character is meant more as a showing of what the Empire DOES to people, how it breaks them, and crushes their spirit. The padawan thing was just me spitballing ideas for him.

Yes and I understand what the character is trying to achieve. But frankly he is not the type of character I find would be best suited for this Roleplay and well that may sound mean of me. I'm just trying to figure out where a mentally deficient Talz fits in with the group and why he would be recruited. And honestly compared to the other CSs currently presented yours is kind of lacking in the detail department which isn't helping me figure out where he would fit in. Sorry if I'm sounding mean but I've run this RP before and I'm trying to avoid past mistakes.

Nah nah, it's fine. To be honest, it's not a character I'm particularly invested in. I just didn't want to play your stereotypical "charming rogue" or "big bruiser" type. Any particular niche you might need filled instead?

Perhaps like an artist or bomb maker? Someone who could fulfill unique but useful role. An anti-propaganda and or explosive expert or maybe a gun maker? Idea's for unique useful characters.

Exactly! Somebody like that I would accept with open arms! Anyway in terms of getting this thing off the ground, the RP will remain open until I at least give @DaDrummer676, @The Fox Without, @Heat and @Pirouette a chance. Once those are submitted the first round of applicants shall be closed and the IC will start. So if you are still interested in joining I suggest getting a CS sheet in before then.

Oh and @knighthawk Renga is accepted.
