Would it be too much killjoy if someone rationally points out that the vault dweller is making capitalism based deals with several bar patrons?

Achilles wouldn't, at least. He probably doesn't fully understand what communism is.

@clanjos Vaultech was actually owned by the American government. It's why there terminal was in the pentagon, United States government took it over it's how the Enclave can open vaults and more importantly why they tested so many vaults with problems and horrific ideas.

No, they were CONTRACTED. Meaning the government paid them for the things, but didn't own them. It would make sense that there would be a terminal that would allow the Pentagon to monitor an investment's progress- assuming the Brotherhood didn't just move it from somewhere else.

In either case it's not far fetched that security held official federal(if not necessarily military) ranks.

@clanjos They were contracted to build the vaults but the US government ran and selected all the programs and picked the people that went in. The Enclave was in charge of it all having members in Vault Tec and in the government.

1. Again, they contracted the construction. There is no reason to instate a military rank for what is essentially a rent-a-cop.
2. If they DID receive a rank, the Security Chief would be a sergeant at best. He doesn't need authority over Lieutenants, Warrant Officers, Sergeants, Corporals, AND Majors to enforce order in such a small environment.
3. It's usually a bad thing if you have to insert NPC's to shill for your character against people with reasonable arguments, then cut off the conversation with an attack that just proves the opposition's point.

@Earnest Evans Nope there about to bust in and Davis is going to have to keep them busy... Unless someone else ends up standing around. Remember none of us are carrying high impact weapons and very few have energy weapons. So it will take a lot of bullets to take them down. Direct fight would go there favor, power armor really can soak up damage. Technically assault rifles and such don't even hurt it until it takes enough punishment and the plates give way to the bullets or you shoot off the helmet locks and then blow there head off. When Jack fights them he might kill one, two if he's lucky and he's using a rifle that can cook them in there armor. I'm trying to make power armor as powerful as it sounds. So a squad of troops could probably take out are little group unless we make them run, suits will slow them down.

So.. wait.

The Enclave has successfully invaded the town and are now about to storm the bar and shoot up the place. If we blow up their Vertibird, what's to stop them from immediately beginning a massacre in town, even if the sheriff can get his turrets set up?

This is, in fact, proving my character's point really well, by virtue of the fact that the Enclave are coming in force just to find your character, and are powerful enough to wipe the town out.

@clanjos The attack is coming because I want to move things along and I felt some action would be nice, second I really don't care what you think of Jack as he is character I use to tell a story.Can we not nitpick over little details? I'm trying to bring the robot along and more importantly let him join the group so we can continue our story. Davis has his reasons for defending Jack and it will be explained later.

They've landed outside the town gate and are currently offloading, it's a group coming to tell the town they are now under Enclave control. Hand over there weapons, etc. If there Verti-bird blows up they'll come investigate and then chase after whoever did it forgetting the town and going after these rebels.

So... why would they look for a culprit instead of just assuming that the town is attacking them, and immediately begin the slaughter?
