Although M.O.N.A.R.C.H. would consider The Xim Initiative's aggression against what they see as imperfect a waste of time and resources that will ultimately lead to their destruction once they've made too many enemies, they'll get along fine so long as the Xim don't disrupt any trade routes or mining operations that M.O.N.A.R.C.H. has a computer generated hand in.

That's... not really the case. Actually, the Xim are marked for unaggressiveness against imperfect beings. They do NOT like to fight, and they aren't really villains. M.O.N.A.R.C.H. is assuming that they will make too many enemies, but humanity should be their only one. They aren't a violent people. Militant at times, but not outwardly- they just prefer to build up a massive fleet to defend their own territory and they rarely strike first.

The reason they have such a problem with humans is because Earth used to exist inside their territory, before the humans achieved interstellar flight. They saw this as a disruption of their territory, leading to an aggressive attitude towards mankind, which (over a century of poor diplomacy between the two groups) led to the war.

Remember, that 2nd person intro up there was written from a human perspective, and so it's biased against the Xim and portrays them as worse than they really are.

They can be merciless and brutal once they DO make enemies, though. It's just that they prefer not to. They will take peace over war 80% of the time. They aren't the bad guys.

So they aren't a rehash of the Borg. Duly noted.

Ew, of course not. I don't really like the Borg.

The only thing in common between them in the Borg is that they hate flaws, and strive to be perfect. There aren't any other similarities between the two, as my C.S. will show.

Interested in joining.

Thinking low-tech dog-like hyper-industrial race that got into a war with several of it's galactic neighbors a while ago due to over-expansion and pissing off some more "enlightened" races due to strip-mining garden worlds and extensive usage of WMD's in ground warfare. Now after coming to an uneasy armistance, the Meknik Union of Worlds now wonders "what next?" and "er, how many black ops projects and wildcat colony launches did we really fund when we thought this war was going to be apocalyptic?"

Former desperate underdog conquering empire, now busy trying to clean up it's messes and find new purpose.

I've said I love the idea of everyone who has expressed interest, but your concept is by far my favorite.

The Xim will disapprove of your lack of tech and WMDs, but will love the industrial spirit and your wanton destruction of nature via stip-mining. That's just the sort of thing they would do, in the situation.

But more importantly, I love the Meknik.

Hmmmmm. this could be more then I can handle, but I do need my space fix :P and as long as my other rps move at a good pace, I'll hopefully be fine.

I'm putting up a possible interest, and a possibility of playing the humans(with some alien allies absorbed within their federation/republic/etc if that is ok)

If you can handle a 4 paragraph post every few weeks, then you should be fine. That's all I require.

Though, you're writing must be fairly good, especially for the humans. You don't have to be a novelist, but I do ask that you put forth effort. As long as I feel like you're trying, they'll be no problem :)

As for aliens working peacefully in a human federation: that's completely acceptable. It sounds like Star Trek, which is my favorite show, so of course I approve, Captain Picard

@Hael Well, I can write decent-ish, not the super best, but good, especially when inspired. :)

What I'm more worried about though is dividing my attention to three rps. Although they are going at a slow and good pace, so I should be fine.

I'm curious- will your Explorer Character be controlled by MONARCH, or will you simply not have one?

M.O.N.A.R.C.H. will be my explorer character. He'll assume control of an unmanned exploration vessel and use probe drones for planet side exploration. But while we're on the subject of simply not having things, I don't think I'll be able to squeeze 6 paragraphs of culture out of an empire of unmanned drones and a self-aware AI.

Would a warrior race of carnivorous bipedal reptiles qualify as humanoids? I'm thinking no.

Anything with a two legs, two arms, and a face is a humanoid. Because it's in the shape of a human.

Humanoid doesn't mean human, it means bipedal and in the general shape of a human, with general human-like features. So yes, that would just be a reptilian humanoid. If it's bipedal and has a face, opposable thumbs, and hands, then there's a 90 percent chance it qualifies as humanoid xD

I'm interested and working on something.

Yaaayyyyy!

Hopefully you'll be the first one not to make a dangerous, violent race

So far we have like two "neutral" aliens (Xim and MONARCH) and then like an army of villians (Mardox's race, RWDS's race, the X'Cor, and sort of the Meknik) xD

THERE ARE NO GOOD GUYS. GOOD GUYS ARE A MYTH.

Villains? They are noble warriors with a code of honor! They just happen to be carnivorous semi-sociopaths who eat fallen enemies...
