Chincf

Chincf's hackles bristled as he looked at Cahira, unsure as she spoke of offering aid to the tigers. He wondered how Reaver would react, knowing the alpha hated the big cats. But it was his mate talking, so maybe he would be a little less harsh. As Carek approached to offer his own input on the situation, Chincf nodded his agreement. "Carek's right, Cahira. I don't think that's a good idea. We have a hard enough time trying to find enough food for everyone in the pack without giving up our prey to the tigers. Especially if we're going to have pups on the way soon...the tigers will have to fend for themselves, like they've always done."

Tikaani

Tikaani waited patiently as Robyn relayed the information to Reaver, wondering whether she was right about them keeping off their territory. "What if they do turn onto the territory? We haven't got the prey to spare especially with spring only just coming in. We should make sure they know not to tresspass."

Saaba

@Polaris North
Saaba paused, the tigress lifting her head as she heard a commotion across the river where she had been drinking. Looking across, she saw a frantic cub scrabbling to get away from what looked to be a large male tiger. Growling, she cleared the river in two bounds and came to stand between them, not realising that Avir had only been looking out for the cub and wanted to keep it out of the wolves' land.
"Hey! What's wrong with you! Leave the cub alone, go find something else to munch on!" Saaba hissed warningly.

Robyn

Cahira did, indeed, suggest something that was out of the ordinary. Helping the tigers? Now that was an odd request. Robyn sat down as she listened to the input of the other wolves. Carek, of course, didn't like the idea considering that they had less prey than what they need. "We should avoid unnecessary conflict though." If those tigers don't want trouble, then she doesn't either. Besides, it's not the best call to fight. One might be sick, but there were two tigers there.

Chincf didn't agree with it either. She was worried on what Reaver might think considering that he has a profound hate for tigers. "I can talk to them if you want. As long as I don't show any aggression, they won't attack. And as a family, they won't risk the life of their two cubs and adolescent." Or at least she hoped so. If they are truly just passing by, they wouldn't cause any trouble, especially with a sick member. It might not be the best idea but it was the best for her.

Avir

Before getting a response from the cub, another tiger was already heading towards them. She was growling when she had come between the two so Avir to an instinctive step back. It wasn't until the tigress had warned him about getting something else to much on that he stifled a laugh. Really? Did she really think that he was going to eat a defenseless cub of his own kind no less? Now that was hilarious. He shook his head. "I was trying to warn her to not cross the wolf territory. And I was going to hunt for some fish for her, she's pretty hungry. Look at her." Avir gestured to the young cub who was obviously deprived of food.

Carek listen to Robyn's input. "I don't suppose we have to attack the tigers to drive them out. Threats are usually enough to do the job, but it will only work if we act together as a pack. A single grown tiger is a match for two of any of us, possibly three if we aren't careful. But their cubs. Rrrr. I don't like the idea of threatening the young, but if we have to choose between our cubs and theirs, it isn't much of a choice at all."

Aleu
Wandering just past the clearing, Aleu could barely make out the voices beginning to stir behind her and she quickly started hurrying the pups faster towards the water. Some quiet time away from the pack that never stopped complaining of the tigers was a bit much. Speaking of things the young pups had no business listening to. Aleu huffed softly through her nose and stepped to the edge of the pond, craning her neck down to lap up a cool drink of water.
Desaius
The sudden talk about the tigers and needing to drive them out if it was to be the wolves or them caused Desaius and his old bones to move that much faster. The young and their ever growing concerns for those that, had they obeyed certain territory lines, would be just another group of friendly neighbors of the wood. An old wolf, such as Desaius, had nothing to worry about with the Tigers. He neither posed a threat nor did he care if the tigers attempted to assassinate him. At Desaius' age, and in the emotional state he was in, he couldn't care less if he died on the spot. On that note, Desaius changed direction and began to wander off toward the tiger territory. No one would see him wandering off that way, because by the time he'd made the decision to go there, he'd gone quite a couple hundred yards into the forest. "This should be interesting," thought Desaius to himself. No, he wasn't on a suicide mission. This was a mission to do something about the growing concerns the younger pack members had. The ones no one had yet made a decision on. It'd been a constant concern for as long as the two packs had been around in the same wood, and if no one else would say a thing to the darned tigers, Desaius had nothing to lose if it went south. He'd already lost the last thing he wholeheartedly loved to the harshness of the winter.
Shadow
Shadow heard Chincf call and she immediately jumped up to follow Hunting Party's Lead orders, coming in just behind Carek with Kai falling behind a ways. Shadow gave a nod to her lone brother and pointed her nose off in the opposite direction where the other part of the hunters would be going for their part of the hunt. Shadow ran right into Carek's rear and realized everyone had stopped to begin debating about the tigers. Shadow, too, was tired of the constant worry on everyone's mind.. including hers, at times. The concern was practically bred right into their very being. Something we all grew up dreading. Becoming of age and it becoming their problem. Oh joy. Slowly, Shadow sank to her hackles and tilted her head to the side slightly, just listening to the soft debate going on. Shadow had a lot to say about it all, but usually kept it to herself because in her opinion, it didn't matter what she felt. Nothing would ever truly be done about the tigers and their clear lack of respect for boundaries.. at the same time, though, she understood why the tigers did what they did. And maybe that was Shadow's main concern. She might be looked at as a traitor, or even so simply as a sympathizer. Would the pack turn against her? Shadow could only keep her thoughts to herself, and assume that if she stay quiet, she'd be safe.

Cahira

Cahira should have know they would say it wasn't a good idea and yet again her mind do all the talking. But Cahira do wonder tho that how long does the war between wolfs and Tigers is going to last I mean she think the tigers have a very hard winter like the wolfs have and very low on food right now.

Cahira keep her mouth shut after she say that right next to her, keep in mind Cahira, never let your mind do all the talking. Cahira though.

Lila:

"Zoru, you're hunting with me so long as you feel up to it. Kai, you're in my hunting party as well," Lila said, standing to head out but stayed as Robyn spoke of tigers near the territory. From the corner of her eye she caught sight of Desaius leaving the pack's clearing, her curiosity piqued as she wondered where the old wolf was heading off to. She looked at the others, seeing they were distracted and padded after the elder, tracking his scent as she went and frowning deeply as he headed towards tiger territory. "Desaius, what are you up to?" She muttered and continued following.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pups:

Anum pouted but kept up with Aleu, she wouldn't cause much trouble for now since they were at least able to get out and stretch their legs. When the three reached the lake, Anum was the first to pounce into the shallows with a laugh while Kita went to investigate some nice, safe pinecones that had already fallen.

Zoru

His eyes travelled to Lila as she told him that he should come with them if he was feeling up to it. "Apologies Lila, but I really can't." He said apologetically. He then turned his attention to Robyn as she began speaking with the higher ups about the issue of the tigers. He placed his head on his paws as he continued listening, eyes travelling around the camp. Desaius had left with Lila on his tracks. Others were pitching in their ideas as well. He decided that he shouldn't really say any of his input. After all, what Robyn says is what he thinks. He taught her after all.

Robyn

Robyn looked around, seeing that that most of the wolves were now listening. "We should avoid sending threats. Let's just tell them that they shouldn't cross the border. If they respond to our threats, then we would have a battle on our hands." She pointed out. She noticed that a lot of other wolves were looking down. There are many who think all tigers are bad and should be confronted with aggression while others just want to avoid it completely. The latter being her place. "Don't worry about it. I'll take Zoru with me... and Tikaani as well. We should be able to outrun them." She suggested, to end the discussion since it seems like it's being dragged on and some of the hunting parties haven't even departed yet.

Shadow
Shadow's ears flicked this way and that, the wind blowing throughout her fur causing her to forcefully shake it out and take a stand. Wandering off a few feet and out of everyone's way, Shadow stretches greatly and digs her claws into the dirt beneath her paws.
Desaius
Desaius had managed to get quite a distance away from the clearing and closing in on Tiger territory when suddenly he heard an all too familiar voice questioning where he was heading. Growling softly to himself in his thoughts, Desaius just decided to ignore the fae and hoped she'd get bored and wander back off towards Vandrow hunting grounds. He didn't particularly like being rude to females, but she had no place following him where he was going and wouldn't be responsible for her if she decided to continue following into enemy territory.
Aleu
Aleu kept a close watch on the two pups, constantly looking back and forth between them, and across the pond towards the rest of the forest. While eyeing Anum in the pond, a sudden scent hits her and her nose rockets into the air, smelling it out. A new wolf. Aleu's lip curled ever so slightly for a second before forming back to a thin line. Her attention turned back to the girls and slowly stood to all fours, hair bristled slightly. Aleu's reaction wasn't normal for her, at least not if she'd been alone but because she was in the company of the little ones she had to be on her best guard behavior. Luckily for her, the scent smelled feint. Far away.
Kai
Kai nodded at Lila's command and began to get up to follow when she darted off, calling for Desaius. Suddenly it came to Kai's attention that Desaius wasn't in the clearing anymore. Quickly getting to his feet, Kai ran off after Lila while gritting his teeth as he thought, 'Has this old dog lost his mind?'

Akita:
I step outside the den and look around camp. I must have slept late... I should go hunting. I decide to go alone so I don't have to talk to anyone.

Fang:
I lay silently in the shadows of camp. I notice my sister, Akita leaving, probably to go hunting. I stay on the ground, my dark pelt allowing me to stay hidden.

Lila:

She huffed and continued her pursuit, speeding up to a full run to catch up. "Desaius! Desaius, you need to stop!" She called after him. And while he may have felt she had no place following, she was the Beta female and it was indeed her place to look after the pack and it's members when the Alphas couldn't.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Pups:

A little time had gone by and Anum had tired herself out after running around in the water, going to plop down beside Kita who looked over to Aleu and laid her ears back. "Aleu, I'm hungry," She whined. "Me too," Anum said.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Axel:

He was sniffing around a lake for something quick to catch. As it was, he caught the trail of a rabbit so that was awesome. He stopped in his tracking of the rabbit and sniffed another spot he'd come across, finding a scent that was far more interesting, and lovely if he might add. Distracted from his quest in finding food, Axel put his nose to the ground once more to follow the new scent, a few others mingling in here and there but this female's was still the strongest and easier to find having probably been through the area quite recently.

Chincf
The beta male nods in response to Robyn's suggestion, in agreement that it is the best course of action. HEND can't afford to waste any more time on the debate, his hunting party needs to look for prey. "I'm trusting your judgement, Robyn." he fixes his littermate with a hard stare. "Robyn is in charge." he reminds her firmly, beckoning Shadow and Carek to join him on his search for a game trail. They would try to locate a herd, and pick up any small prey they could along the way.

Tikaani
The she-wolf rolled her eyes and scoffed in protest to her brother's tone but she made no argument against the instructions. She nodded towards Robyn, her tail flicking. "Sure, I'll come with you. We'll just remind them who this territory belongs to is all, we don't have to hurt them." she agreed.

@Polaris North
Saaba
The tigress pauses, forcing her fur to lie flat again and licks her lips in an attempt to cover up her embarrassment. She could see how thin the cub was and her mothering instincts, despite not having any litters of her own, began to kick in. "Yes, I can see that. It looked like she was trying to get away from you, I thought you were going to eat her..." she answered Avir, blowing air through her nose. "Where is her mother?" she asked the male, wondering if he knew. It was unusual, and unsettling, for such a young cub to be wondering the wilds without her mother.

Carek followed Chincf, still somewhat annoyed that Shadow had run into his rear. "Yeah, I know the drill. Nose to the ground. Smell them out." He did so, sniffing the cold soil. The scents of many animals mingled with the smell of foliage and it was hard to distinguish between them for a moment. He growled and bared his fangs as an unwelcome scent entered into his nostrils.

"I smell a tiger. Female. Not sure where she is, but she can't be too far. Scent is too fresh. Chincf, what do we do?"

Zoru and Robyn

With Chincf's agreement, Robyn was prepped and ready to go. She nodded at Tikaani and began moving towards Zoru who merely looked at the female wolf. "I'm sure you can handle it by yourselves. Today's one of my off days too." He pointed out. The female patrol wolf sighed. She thought she could show off to her predecessor today but it doesn't seem like it. Being trusted is nice though. She then looked at Tikaani, "Alright then, it's just the two of us. Let's go."

She bounded towards the edge of the clearing before hurrying towards where she last saw the tiger family. Robyn was sure to keep herself in Tikaani's line of sight so she wouldn't lose her. It wasn't long until she found the family, treading close to the territory but not exactly crossing it.

"Wolves?" One of the tigers sniffed the air to confirm it. The male tiger bounded towards the edge of the territory, while not showing extreme aggression, is very cautious on the approach of the two female wolves.

Avir

"I don't fault you for it though, I think the scene looked very misleading in the first place." Avir said. Now that he thought about it, mixing a scared scrawny cub and a fully grown male tiger in the winter might make it misleading. It didn't look like they were of the same family too. The next question made him think. "I do not know. I found her by her lonesome. And based off how she was stumbling earlier, it is most likely that her mother passed away recently." It was winter after all and a lot of lives are lost during that time.

Shadow
Her eyes darted towards Chincf and Carek, straightening her posture before following close behind Carek as he ventured off with his nose to the ground. Almost instantly as the words came from Carek himself, Shadow smelled them. Tigers. Something deep inside Shadow cringed and she could feel the scars on her back burn with an old, painful memory. Gritting her teeth, Shadow carefully glanced back over her shoulder at Chincf to see what his input would be on what they should do. Shadow could tell the scent was only coming from upwind and the tiger hadn't come into their actual territory, but Carek was right about it being fresh.
Aleu
Aleu's attention was brought back to the pups before her when they began going on about their hunger. Eyebrows furrowing, Aleu looked back behind her and thought to herself, 'No one has sounded off that they got anything, yet. Guess it'll be a while longer. What to do..?' Looking at the girls, Aleu put on the best smile she could and walks to them, getting down to their level in a sort of playbow. "You guys wanna help hunt down a rabbit with me? I don't think the group has caught anything yet, so it's up to us to help out, too."
Desaius
Stopping in his tracks just as he stepped over the invisible border, turning around to face the Fae. Softening his expression as much as possible for the old, grumpy wolf, Desaius let his tail hang low and ducked his head slightly, being as respectful as possible. "Lila, with all due respect, I need to do this alone. Don't want company. If things go south, it'll be on me, and I can't risk being responsible for someone else's death this year. I can't." At the last couple sentences spoken, Desaius' ears curved back against his head and he looked towards the ground, averting Lila's gaze.
Kai
Keeping up with Lila, Kai cocked his head to the side as he saw Desaius act remotely nice for once. "This oughtta be good." mumbled Kai to himself, under his breath. Kai stopped just before Lila, keeping an eye out on their surroundings. They were at the edge of the territories.

Chincf
Chincf's tail shot straight up into the air and his hackles bristled out of instinct. His lips peeled back to show his teeth and he beckoned Shadow and Carek towards him. "Stay close and keep your noses to the wind. Don't engage them." he instructed. "We're here to hunt, not fight."

Tikaani
The young she-wolf dipped her head politely to Zoru and fell into step with Robyn, letting her lead them to the place where she had seen the tiger family. Keeping her tail down and her fur flat, Tikaani padded towards the border, stopping beside it.
"Relax," she spoke gently hoping they wouldn't see the two guards as a threat, "we aren't here to hurt you or your family. We're just patrolling our borders."

@Polaris North
Saaba
Saaba sighed heavily, her ears flicking. It was very likely that the mother had starved to death. "Well, fish is probably our best bet to find her something to eat." she muttered, gesturing towards the stream with a flick of her muzzle. "Land prey is scarce, not even lemmings or rabbits are easy to find lately. I haven't had a successful hunt in days."

Carek growled but obeyed. "If we don't fight the tigers, we won't have anything left to hunt!" Still, he kept low and pointed his nose towards the wind. There wasn't much in the way of prey to be had. "Damn cats and their damn appetites."

Robyn

Tikaani had replied for her, which is good. The other female wolf had a gentle tone which obviously had an effect on the tiger who had relaxed in the presence of the two. "I see. Well, we do not intent to ever cross your borders. I'd rather not have my family in danger just because of a petty squabble with wolves."

"I'm glad we reached an understanding. Please understand that some other wolves are worrying about food." The wolf pointed out and dipped her head in respect to the tiger. This action might be looked down upon but she didn't care. It was only Tikaani there and there's a low chance of her ratting it out.

"Of course." The tiger then turned his attention to Tikaani. "I'm glad you decided not to attack us. I'd rather not have my cubs killed when they haven't been in this world for too long."

Avir

"Did you know that there are birds around here?" Avir asked. "While scarce, it's there if you look hard enough." He then laughed and then padded towards the river's bank. Before he even thought of catching prey, his eyes landed on the other side, towards the Vandrow's territory. He then looked back to Saaba. "You want to catch it for the cub?"

Chincf
Chincf faced Carek, blinking calmly as he looked at the other wolf. "I understand that you're frustrated. We all are, and we all lost friends and family to the food shortages this year. But violence against the tigers isn't going to solve this." the beta reminded him. He leaned forward and touched the end of his muzzle to Carek's shoulder soothingly. "The tigers have cubs and families to feed just like we do, they're only trying to survive, just like us." turning to pad onward again, Chincf drew air into his nostrils, trying to locate a scent trail. Faintly, he scented rabbit. The beta held his tail up to signal the hunting party to stop. "Rabbit scent. Could be a warren close by. We might be able to grab a couple...even if they're skinny, it'll be better than nothing."

@Polaris North
Tikaani
Tikaani bows her head respectfully to the tiger as well, glad that they were able to have a civil conversation. "Of course, we understand that. We have no wish to harm you or your cubs." she assured him. "We're only worried about finding food for our own pack. We lost cubs in the food shortage too, and older wolves also." maybe it was wrong of her to reveal the information to the big cat because they were supposed to be rivals, but she didn't see them as a threat and didn't see anything wrong with being honest.

Saaba
Saaba followed his line of sight, her tail lashing uneasily. "You mean cross into Vandrow territory? I don't think that's a good idea." the tigress protested. "The wolves are getting more defensive about their borders, and there's more of them than us." but they needed food and if that was the only place they could get it....Saaba sighed, nodding her head. "Stay here and watch the cub." she murmured, clearing the stream in one leap. She paused to regain her balance, her legs weaker from lack of food, before she went about looking for prey. It didn't take her long to track down a few birds, scrambling up the trunk of a scrawny pine to snatch them from the branches. She carried them back across the stream to where Avir sat with the cub, dropping the dead birds at his paws. "Here, let her have these while I see if I can find something a bit more substantial for the two of us."

Lila:

Looking at the elder wolf, Lila sighed and stepped forward until she was a few respectful feet away and sat down. "Desaius... What happened wasn't you're fault, no one was prepared for a fight, we were all barely getting by as far as food and we had lost two pack members already. That tiger, he wasn't even from the White Wood, none of the elder tigers recognized him, even Nima and you know she never forgets a face. You weren't the only one to lose a loved one that day," Lila said softly, talking about her brother that died trying to fend off the rouge tiger before it had reached the pack's clearing. Taking a breath, she looked around, making sure that they were still indeed alone. "These tigers now don't sound like a threat, they're possibly passing through, especially since there is a cub with them, it wouldn't be the first time a single family traveled through. Please come back, we can sort this out back home where it's safe," She pleaded.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pups:

"We get to learn how to hunt?!" Anum exclaimed, jumping up in excitement. Kita was a little more apprehensive, weren't they still too little? She really had no problem waiting for Aleu to catch something but knew the female wouldn't leave the pup on her own. "How do we catch a rabbit?" Kita asked, pushing herself up so she was sitting.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Axel:

It wasn't much longer until he heard voices, lifting his head to look in the direction they came from. He heard a female's voice first then two much smaller and younger voices. Curious, the male stayed out of sight and downwind to observe the trio from now. He didn't want to mess with a mother tending to her pups, that wouldn't end well for him, though she was quite the looker even if she was on the small side. "Wouldn't it be disappointing if she had a mate," He muttered under his breath.

Carek sighed. "Yes, Chincf. We are trying to survive. And for that to happen, we need enough food. For that, we need to drive out or eliminate others who are eating into our food supply. This is Vandrow land, not tiger land. It's as simple as that." He put his nose to the ground, confirming the presence of rabbits in the vicinity.

"Alright, we can discuss the tigers another time, everyone. Rabbits are indeed near. Good work, Chincf."
