@Dinh AaronMk I agree, I too found it a bit stretching the limits. But that's not up me to decide really, the GM should decide.

@ONL Not really that much of a bit, to be honest.
Sounds more like a fantasy than a Great Depression ALT History, but that's up for the GM to decide.

@BlekeeThat's why I'm waiting the GM to clarify exactly what the point of divergence is. Btw, that gif with Roosevelt? I'd vote him in for a third term, just saying ;)

Was gonna jump in as a Sun-Yat-Sen inspired Republican China but it appears that has been swiped from me! Still possibly interested, but will take a little time to come up with something new. Fear not though, I have a few other ideas.

I think that once I've got a clear idea as to what states in the states aren't taken I'll get to work on an NS.

[@Doctoryze] Gotta steal your template, after all I did show you le site! xd
@Claw2k11 Also, wouldn't Mexico be affected by a civil war? The Emperor had little to no support, and the Constitutionals, Socalists, and Liberals would most likely stage an uprising, but that's just my two cents.
Also King could you tell us a little more about the non US states? Such as the rest of North America, Europe, SA, and Asia?

Btw, I like how my country is the only American country that actually signed the Treaty of Washington D.C. :p In an America ravaged by revolutions and war, the PSA still stands as a peaceful and democratic state!

No offense of course, just an observation ^^ And yes, I'm eyeing you too, Philipinnes.

Edit: Another observation: the normally democrat and progressive north went ultra-right wing, and the conservative and Christian south went full communist. The world has truly turned on it's head.

Actually, thanks to the worsening situation, the population lost some faith in the general government and Maximillian seemed a far better and more charismatic option than the other political parties did.

It wasn't much of a civil war if the armies sent against him joined him instead. It's like when Napoleon returned from Elba and every French army sent against him joined him instead.

That part might just, and I'm simply speculating here, because Napoleon had by that point already ruled France as Emperor for over 10 years, and actually proven himself a capable leader in all aspects.

By comparison, the only things that the last emperor of Mexico managed to pull off, was because of said frenhcman's grandson (I think), Napoleon III's support to him.

@ONLIt was his nephew :d
@Claw2k11 And most Frenchmen supported and deeply supported Napoleon due to the fact he created laws and helped end the unjust Absolute Rule, I doubt the people of Mexico who even revolted against a Constitutional Government! Would accept let alone an absolute.

@BlekeeDarn it, that's what happens when you don't fact-check when you haven't had history for a year. Thanks for the clarification.

I don't know how well Mexico could weather the great international depression when during the time of the depression the economic growth it experienced (known as the Mexican Miracle) was due in part of government policy. And you replaced what'd be an otherwise progressive party with a constitution that'd support what they did with an ultra-conservative monarchy that would go far from that.

EDIT - we're also facing a universe where one of the greatest economies of the time, or the most major political entity in the Americas has dis-unionized. This would no doubt have crippling effects across the board that would worsen the Great Depression. Especially in a nation where many migrant workers from Mexico were still working in at the time to send money back home to feed families.

Took a bit of a different Idea with the Nationsheet it still a bit of a WIP and I'm open to critiquing
Name:New Imperial German Empire
Flag and Map:

Government Ideology:Autocratic Monarchy
Leader:King Wilhelm II
Rough Population:67 Million
Capital:Berlin
History of Your Nation since start of Great Depression: THe Great depression hurt germany arguably the hardest with ill management of the national economy and burdens of war reparations most of the german people took their anger out on thew weimar republic blaming the US and the allies for causing this turmoil seeing their more western Ideals as great excesses. First the nation rallied around Hitler and his national socialist Party under the promise of new nationalism and the rebirth of the greater germany. But His policies alienated most of the countries previous aristocratic elite, knowing full well of the inevitability of hitler being elected in 1934, planned a daring coup. in the months before the election german aristocrats slowly gathered their forces from a variety of sources ranging from anti fascist White Russian Emigres to disgruntled former military elite threatened by the rise of hitler. on august 20th 1934 following the sucessful referendum by hitler to merge the positions of chancellor and President, hell broke loose in the streets the newly formed Royal Freikorps Stormed the Royal Palace in berlin turning the palace into a veriable fortress.

The Royal German Freikorps on the roof of the royal palace preparing for another assault by hitler's SA
Street fighting broke out all throughout germany with the bloodiest battle being in the streets of berlin as Royal Freikorps forces fought a bloody over the reichstag against Hitler's SA forces. Eventually the Royal Freikorps broke through the SA lines securing the Reichstag where they captured several High Ranking NSDAP officals whom they swiftly arrested for Treason against His Magjesty Emporer Wilhelm the II (who had been snuck back into the country following the putsche). After a week of bloody fighting the SA forces had surrendered with hitler escaping over the border into austria.
A Royal Freikorps Barricade in the streets of berlin
With the coup sucessful the New re-instated German Government began fervently persecuting former NSDAP supporters with many fleeing to America and austria this was called the "Flight of the Fascists". WIth the turmoil in america the Germans quickly began to seize and reclaim their lost power in Central europe with the Volunteer armies of the Royal Freikorps invading austria under the guise of attempting to forricibly extredited hitler. within months austria was overrun and forced to submit to the new German Empire. Soon after the fall of austria Germans in the sedetenland began to rebel against the czechoslovakian government. Offically the Imperial government gave no support to these uprisings and invasions all the while secretly approving of arms shipments to both volunteer armies. Within a few years of the Original coup the German EMpire had regained most of its former territories and some more all under the guise of popular overthrows. Now as the American states still lie in turmoil and the german Empire still hungry for more power the once former allies lie in shambles with each nation too afraid to declare war on the growing threat of the new german empire for fear of starting yet another world war this time without america on their side.

@thorgili

I think we may be at an issue with this because with the fall of the NSDAP then there's no international backing to the Sister Republics which nullifies not only them, but the Communist South in the US. Germany will need to go the route of the NSDAP.

As well, Hitler was considerably popular at the time of his rise and a lot of the elite and the writers backed him to be on what they saw as the winning side, given Hitler alone held the loyalty of a third of the nation behind him.
