Great to hear, I'll have to check out that post meanwhile, regicide is always fun! :P

I had a small plot hook planned for when our characters meet in the village, but lets see where the next posts take us.

Well, shit happens. I type out my posts in Word and then copy them over to wherever I need to post them, which led to one of my most embarrassing moments: I was writing for two separate RP's and somehow managed to copy over the posts in the wrong thread, so the sci-fi RP got a fantasy post and vice versa /facepalm. It was a slower forum and people didn't check the threads every day, so it took me about a week before I realised the fuck up

The post itself was great, I loved it, even though I'm missing a lot of the context. I can imagine it was very emotional for your players though. Might have to read the whole RP one of these days, I'm a sucker for interesting stories.

So I just finished Baptism of Fire and I learned a metric fuckton about high vampires from the second half of the book, so I have plenty of information to use. About to head on to the last book of the ones in the US (there's one more major novel after it), but I have a lot more to use, set up for the backstory.

I'm going to be going to a conference this weekend, so I may or may not be able to get a post done, but yeah! Should hopefully get one soon no matter what.

Ooooh, good to hear. I've been planning on buying the books for ages now, but I never seem to get around to it. (I blame my parents' huge library of books - why spend cash, when I can just visit them and take a book or ten?). How are the English versions, by the way? I've heard that the translation isn't all that great, at last for the first books?

Don't worry about when to post, I've been handed a huge project at work, plus three from my university AND I have two group RP's I need to respond to by the end of this week. In other words, I'm in no rush!

I didn't have too much of a problem with the translations. Maybe it's because they're such a late edition now, they worked out all of the kinks. But I've honestly had a good time reading them all.

Hmmm, guess I might look into the English version then. Over where I live we have the entire series (+short stories) published in the local language (Bulgarian), which is a lot closer to Polish than English is. It's often said that they are superior to the English translations, but I have my serious doubts after leafing through them in the bookstore.

In other news, I've been battling the urge to reinstall the Witcher 3 for a couple of days now and I fear it's a losing battle...

I mean it's a great game, lose the battle. I need to get back to my copy, been too busy and also distracted by Company of Heroes, FFXIV, and League.

Hey, hey - how's it going?

I've officially lost the battle on my end. I saw the GOTY edition on GOG today at -40% and any resistance I had evaporated. Probably not the best idea, seeing as I've got exams and stuff starting next month, but fuck it! Hearts of Stone, Blood and Wine - here I come!

Two months, it's finally up, and I absolutely hate it. I'm truly sorry. It's the end of the semester, and I'm burned out from both the last round of papers and the upcoming one.

My own semester is nearing its end and work is crapping on me hard, so my response will be delayed. I'm loathe to commit to a given time frame, but I'll try to have it up sooner rather than later.

Starting work on my post now, but I had something I wanted to clarify.

My initial plan was for my guy to return to the village, get his pay and then get intercepted by a group of soldiers belonging to the local baron. As you might expect, they will firmly insist that he accompany them so that they can bring him to their lord who has a problem only a witcher can help with*. I was thinking that your character might run into the group in the village itself or after they depart toward the baron's castle. However, since he left fairly early, before the locals were still awake, I'm not sure how feasible that idea is anymore. Thoughts?

*-> I haven't actually figured out what this problem is yet Maybe a curse of some sort?

Hm... I mean, the most simple solution I can think of is having the village he returns to being another one. Otherwise, I'm not certain. Maybe some sort of clue on my end could lead my guy in that direction?

Yeah, we can go with that. We can say that the two villages are close to each other, both positioned along the river's bank, and ruled over by the same lord. Due to their proximity, rumours about my guy's contract would have travelled to the village your character visited as well. Seems like the most straightforward way to handle it, I agree.

In that case, I'll go ahead with my initial plan. Veles will claim his pay, get accosted by soldiers and start making his way to the local ruler's keep. Your guy can jump in at any point, I guess - either on the road or in the village itself, if he decides there's any point in entering the village in the first place that is. Of course, if you've got a better idea I'm all ears (or eyes, as it were).

Anyhow, gonna start working on this, should have a post up by the end of the weekend.

At the risk of repeating myself: apologies for the delay! Thought I'd be done by now, but I've honestly done little work on the post. This last week was busier than I anticipated, but at last my holiday officially begins! Two well-deserved weeks, during which I plan to catch up on my RP'ing which I've neglected over the last month.

At this point, I feel kinda uncomfortable giving an exact time frame, since I've consistently missed every deadline I've set for myself on this project, but I'll get it done ASAP - promise!
