The drawback of logic is that it sees ideas which could be correct but are unproven and aren't suggested by any of logic's data, as incorrect. A group of Humans who solely rely on advancement based on logic would miss opportunities for self-improvement that don't line up with what one of those people decided was possible based on the rules that they are following. Our rules allow certain actions which can discover more rules. As long as new rules have been discovered based on the practices of the old rules, one could assume that the process of expanding rules this way is infinite. However, it only progresses forwards on a single line. A single path. The problem with that is that there could be other paths to go down. Paths that aren't reachable from the reliable path we are currently taking.
