Well, Orchid was not exactly in 30 feet range of the dragon, but he would have hit even on a disadvantaged strike so... Yeah. In any case, we are back in business!

Oh, and in case anyone wants to know, if the dragon had recharged it's breath weapon, it would have unleashed it on Parum in full force mocking him. Blue dragons are vain creatures.

Hypothetically speaking, what should I roll to try to brace for falling damage? Acrobatics makes the most sense, but I feel with athletisism I could try to tuck and roll into prone rather than land on my feet.

Landing has no rolls associated. One either takes damage and falls prone, or does not and stays upright. I'll be rolling for the falling damage, but the formula is 1d6 bludgeoning damage for each 10ft fallen which caps at 20d6.

I cannot say I am surprised that the dragon did feel legitimately angered, @Hekazu. That maneuver was a bold move on @Ryonara's part, but thus far, quite a few characters have undertaken bold actions. On a related note to that, I am assuming it is @Lucius Cypher's quasi-turn?

That would be the natural continuation of this, him checking whether he hits the ground (which he will in one turn if he does not hold) or flies off with Lennithon.

Cool, give me a moment to work something up.

Edit: It's a short one, but there we go. For better or for worse Orchid fell before he could go much higher, so he fell more or less fifty feet below the dragon once it made it's first big gust. He's still raging, so if he does land hard he'll only take half the bludgeoning damage. It may save his life! Also if the damage would still be enough to knock him below 12 but not kill him outright, he'll use his Relentless Endurance.

I also found a spoiler free map of greenest! Should we pin it somewhere, or...?


* In no way has Lennithon demanded this praise, for I did it on my own for he truly is the greatest. please don't lightning breath me...

You should paste it on the first post of the OoC with some basic info about Greenest like "This farming village is known for its truffle crops and once was the home of Sir Pecs Flexington, muscle wizard" or something.

Speaking of muscle wizards, the first game I ever DM'd had a Sorcerer whose source of magic was his oiled muscles. He was a tiefling that had adopted a virtue name for something they were going to achieve... and that name was no more, no less than Swaglord Yoloking. He is still my favourite Wild Magic sorcerer to this day.

Now about the actual subject, I could do what you suggested. SoonTM anyway, right now is not exactly a good moment to start picking the most important pieces of the history of Greenest.

Nonsense. What you should do is have one of the soldiers go up to Orchid (he should still be up at 4 Hp since he's only take half bludgeoning from falling) and tell Orchid that he has never seen anything like what he did since Sir Pecs Flexington used her arcane swole to hold down a tornado en route to the village, using her buldging biceps and some of her wizardry to wrestle the natural disaster into submission.

And that is why Orchid has a level in Wizard.

I admit I am impressed Orchid survived, thankful at that, but what a whirlwind of unexpected events this has been in one encounter. If no one posts by this evening, I certainly will. As for pinning the map, I would say either in the initial post, or in hider beneath the now cleared initiative order.
