As you of of course know, our people can tap into the black and red powers due to their bloodline. There are four types of powers in total, two to the red and two to the black. We sort these powers in the 4 suits. Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades. Normally one can only reach into one of the suits, but if one is lucky enough to have direct lineage to two suits of the same colors, they have access to to half of the powers available. Naturally people use these powers for different things, though without proper training they are hard to develop. Enter the legion. Here one can develop their abilities in a classroom environment, to then become a sterling defender for our country of cards.

And again, as you know, our country must be defended at all times. The legions of beasts that assail our borders is unending, and without ability users we would be overrun in no time. While there are naturally other factions aiding in this cause, the prime defender, is those of The Legion. So, talented one. Will you help defend your home?

The Setting: A fantasy setting that is blended with sci-fi and modern aesthetic, a-la recent final fantasy games, Destiny, and other things I've never played. Our characters will be native the small nation of Card (working title). The dredges of mindless beasts that attack it are all you know, and you have risen to defeat them, for one reason or another. With the intro I clearly implied that our characters will all be apart of The Legion. Not so. The aforementioned "other factions" will have also sent in members to the post that our story begins in, so while The Four Suit Powers may interest you, they are not your only options. One can be a great knight from the Capital, A Marksman from the Guild, a Beast-Tamer from the wilds, a Mechanic from the deep-tech workshops, a Priest from the Holy Church or an upstart applicant in the defense coalition, who is for now, a basic soldier. Either way, you are here, and here is currently being overrun with high level monsters.

These monsters will be classified by chess pieces. Pawns are numerous, and quick. Rooks are larger, heavier and harder to take down. Knights are elite units, with high attack power at close range. Bishops are control units, and unless defeated quickly will spawn more and more enemies. Queens are massive flying fortresses that can spring from the ground. They rain devastation from afar and drop ground units. Kings are all but unheard of, essentially legends. When Card held a larger territory it was the first and only king spotted that terraformed the area, causing the change in owned land. It was taken down by the first heroes, and while it managed to slay them all, it too was lost in the battle. Of course this is a guideline, and there are further deviations in these types, but this is the general idea.

I will go further into the world, factions, monsters, and abilities available, if this ever reaches the OOC stage. As well as actual story, as all that I have here is "fight some shit". Not that isn't the core concept...

Possible title (Bloodlines: suited for war)

Also I find this to be an interesting background that I would totally be in for. If being a "Rouge" of sorts is an option. I don't do factions. Just never been my thing

Bump, I guess?

I honestly thought after the first little bit this wouldn't get any interest but I guess there's a chance, maybe?

Honestly the factions wouldn't be terribly important, I just enjoy them. They would be more the classes you can choose from. That being said, of course you don't have to be in one. Defending the borders is open to all, and sometimes enforced if soldiers are low.
