Blatant King of the Hill reference. I don't remember what the hell we were talking about before Day Zero, but I do remember we had mentioned making this a place to post how well the forum's firearms enthusiast have done over the days, weeks, months, etc.

That having been said, I think I'm either getting worse at shooting, or I somehow managed to damage my AK, because the last time I took it out to the range, I got a 1 fucking foot grouping at 100 meters. That's not exactly good if you ask me. To make matters worse, I didn't even hit the target with my Mosin. I really have to wonder if it's me or the ammo I shoot, or some structural damage to one or both of the rifles, because I just don't know.

Did you shoot the weapons from a bench? What type of ammo?

Ironically, I just bought myself a cheap knock-off ACOG for my TAR-21. I'm curious of how that's going to help my groupings compared to iron sights.

A lot of factors can go into why your accuracy was off. Since the ammunition is corrosive in both guns, if you haven't been cleaning them almost immediately after you're done at the range, you can start getting some bad rust which doesn't help performance. With the Moisins, some of them have off sights without the bayonet on them I've heard. If you're using cheap surplus ammunition, that can almost make a huuuuge difference. It could also be you were having an off day, AKs aren't exactly precision weapons and holding a Moisin steady for long periods of time is a bit taxing.

I was shooting both rifles while sitting on a bench with a sandbag for stability. I'm not sure if the ammo I was using for the AK was non-corrosive or not, but the ammo I was using for the Mosin was yellow-tip 184 grain ammo.

If it's milsurplus ammo, it will have corrosive primers. In that case I hope you cleaned the weapons after every outing. Is the ammo that you shot that day any different from what you usually shoot?

Also check your barrels by shining a flashlight in one end while looking at the other. If there are any gashes in the rifling, they could effect accuracy, especially at longer ranges.

Quick question for any of you guys who might be familiar with the Trace Optics ACOG knock off. I bought one because it was cheap for my Tavor, I was wondering if you guys had any experience with it or know someone who has? I'm wondering how well it holds a zero.

With optics, usually you get what you pay for. Not really big into optics, more of Iron Sights guy.

Never really dabbled in optics. I've only used optics with weapons that I've rented or borrowed.
