It’s been a minute since I did one these and I’ve been meaning to for a while now. I have to say I jumped in with the second character and was trying to actually enjoy the game without worrying so much about formal admin stuff for a while, but my business side has finally caught up to me. We’ve had some people come and go since the last one of these, so this may be a new thing to some. Basically it’s just a formal rundown of the game as it stands and what we’re planning to do to keep it going. So without further ado:

1. Membership: Always the first thing on my mind. The attrition rate on this site tends to be on the high side from what I have observed no matter what the game is, unfortunately. Our game here is no exception. We’ve lost some and we’ve also gained some. I will say this though, I think the current group we have is the best we have had yet. I really mean that. A big THANKS to all that have joined recently and even BIGGER THANKS to those that have been with us since the beginning. Alexus and I are still surprised that it has got this far. I haven’t enjoyed an RP this much in years.

2. Expansion: It’s been a while since we refreshed any of our ads. The steady pace of the game (both OOC and IC) tend to routinely keep us near the top of the forum which, as we have discovered, is a pretty decent form of advertising in and of itself. That being said. I will probably bump the old IC’s again (or maybe even make new ones) since it’s been a while and maybe hit the status bar a few times for those that may be new to the site or perhaps are still on the fence about joining.

3. Future Planning: Ah, the point that is on everyone’s mind. Where is this really going? Fear not. There is a plan and a forming overarching plot that has naturally come about. In the short term this is what you can expect: We’ll finish out this current time skip (we still have to do the rest of Friday night and Saturday morning at the time I am writing this) then we’re looking at doing a “workday” Wednesday of sorts. It will be a day where the characters are going about their business on a normal weekday whether that be a job or school or generally just being a burden on society. After that is going to come our last big event: The Race. The same one we’ve built up to for a while. Sol City Grand Prix will be the end of our “First Chapter” so to speak. After that we’re probably going to do a really big time skip (maybe a week or more) to bring in/separate the first chapter from the second.

4. Chapter Two: With that in mind and without spoiling anything. I can only say that Chapter Two is going to be perhaps more serious than Chapter One. Obviously since this is “slice-of-life” it’s not going to be overly serious, but I will say that maybe the events are going to be more mature and we’re going to focus on real character development full throttle. Chapter one has been a hoot for sure and has been more about bringing people into the game. We want to try and carry that a step further to develop relationships rather than continually doing lighthearted events and party nights. I can tell you, Chapter Two is going to start off with a BIG EVENT that will effect everyone.

You could probably still NPC the sibling as long as you didn't go totally overboard with it. I think we have one person that has done that. The point of the rule though is to get people interacting with each other not just posting back and forth with their own characters.

Speaking of which - are there any locations we're missing that we should add? You talked about a form of transportation like bus or subway earlier, right? But that doesn't necessarily have to be carved out in details. Perhaps some more mundane locations like a shopping center, etc. We did get a food store a while back I think, but perhaps some more around the town as well as some kiosks? Just trowing ideas out there. I might make them if I have a little spare time eventually.

WWell, more generic are less represented, we have lots of bars, entertainment venues and such.

If you want to make a food store, shopping centre or such. Railways, transit hubs, railway or bus routes, feel free.

We even have a zoo, museum, park and more no one has used much in the city!

we have light lane at current for smaller home made food and other such little mom and pop places doing non chain food, so always that option.
